I just spoke to a person in Chertoff’s office(chertoff 1-202-282-8000)Asked why with the violence on the border there wasn’t military on the border.
“There is, National Guard”
P”-“Yes but they aren’t allowed to use their weapons”O” “they are if they are attacked”
“P” in other words when 1 of them are shot or killed.
Same ol same ol from these people
Chertoff expects more border violencetemplate_bastemplate_basThe Homeland Security Department is turning up the heat on criminals, he says, and an agent's death shows why fencing is needed.By Nicole Gaouette, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

WASHINGTON -- Violence along the border with Mexico will likely increase this year as the administration bolsters Border Patrol staffing and adds more fencing and technology to catch illegal immigrants, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said Tuesday.

On Saturday, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar, 32, was killed in California's Imperial Sand Dunes recreation area, run over by suspected drug smugglers as he was laying down a spike strip to stop their fleeing Hummer.

Aguilar's death has drawn attention to escalating violence on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico divide, which Chertoff and other administration officials attributed partly to heightened border security measures.

It is astounding to me that there is an out and out war on our border and no one reports on it and it is ignored by our president.  People are getting killed.....American citizens!

I also asked why at least 2 people on the section of the border I live on have thermal cameras for night viewing and day cameras for day viewing and a big company like Boeing can't get the job done. This was after he told me we had a virtual fence!

Click here for my 2 cents >>> http://www.freedomunderground.org/vie... Does this shed any light? Is it even healthy? These guys practically ran security on the "Iron Curtain" in a Cold War that wasn't all that long ago. Have things really warmed up that much between us? And what else don't we know? Is HLS intending to gear up its intensity with Russian style 3rd degree tactics and KGB type violence? Well, it's gotta make you wonder...right? Does that go for anyone on either side of the border who gets in their crosshairs?

I'm sure of that! I just need to know what and if he did hire the Russians?

I can't think of any where else to check. I guess I will write Dobbs and Glenn Beck.

Chertoff was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the son of Rabbi Gershon Baruch Chertoff, the former leader of the B'nai Israel Congregation in Elizabeth, and El Al flight attendant Livia Chertoff (née Eisen). His paternal grandfather, Rabbi Paul Chertoff, emigrated from Russia. His grandfather was a noted Talmudic scholar.[1]

I believe he presently holds dual citizenship--  US and, Israel.

Also, I think there are a few more in the government in that same situation- would be interesting to know the details.

Where is the Guard?
2,600 Troops But Little Evidence

Top: Likely National Guard outpost near Columbus NM. Bottom: Same outpost with civilian truck replacing Humvee.
Lou Dobbs Tonight -- CNN -- January 23
Wian:  ...In a statement a Homeland Security spokeswoman said Secretary Chertoff has made it very clear that we are going to use every tool in our power to protect our border agents and do whatever the American people have demanded, secure our borders. Right now, Lou, there are 2,600 National Guard troops on our southern border with no power to apprehend anyone.
Dobbs: And they are near the border not actually categorically on the border.
 Transcript
American Border Patrol reports that during its January 15-18 survey it found no indication that the National Guard was on the border for security, and only one instance where camouflaged persons were doing construction. "At one point we documented thirteen National Guard outposts along the Colorado River near Yuma," said Glenn Spencer of ABP. "During our last survey we found all National Guard outposts from Texas to California to be abandoned."

Tell me why Gov. Perry of Texas was such an advocate for border security before the election, but now since he (Perry) was re-elected he can give a rat a$$ about the border security?  Perry has been such disappointment for Texas?

Perry is just part of the liars that make up our government, that is bought and paid for. He is part of Bush's New World Order.

C-mon, guys like Chertof, and Perry march to the bark of the Presidente.  I too remember Perry saying he would use the Department of Public Safety to enforce illegal Immigration and Poof! Overnight  it was gone like a bad dream.

You will please notice that the election is nearing.  The same thing happened in 2004 when Bush was going to beef up the Border Patrol and not much has happened.  Chertof is just passing out Bum Dope to make a feeble attempt to resurrect what is left of the GOP.  Aside from that they (Bush) just does not give a Tinkers Dam!

Disappointment is an understatement!  I think he's hoping for VP to somebody.....

The worse thing is Kay Bailey Huchinson is talking about running for governor next election....and we all know she has turned out to be one of the most anti-American senators...then she and her staff say we can't believe our eyes when we read amendments she proposed....just another member of congress that thinks all Americans are stupid!

We all need to stay on Congress....ATTRITION THRU ENFORCEMENT ONLY

We need a good candidate to win out over her bid for governor, and a good senate candidate to replace her when she's through!  Remember, we got pretty boy because of the independent vote siphon -- just like will happen for the presidency based on past experience!  I guess though unless things drastically change, I will back Cornyn -- he's sounded good and done good so far!
