I'm posting this again in a new thread at the risk of getting in trouble.....I hesitated in the first place because I couldn't stomach it.

Duncan Hunter Endorses Huck   [Byron York]

This was a surprise.  From the Hunter statement:

"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter.  "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a  military superpower that is taking large portions of America‚s industrial base."

"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement.  Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity.  I saw that character over the last year of  campaigning and was greatly impressed.  The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well.  My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

Oh boy, is all I can say, especially with Huckabee's wayward immigration record.  He should have just remained mute on the subject  Oh well...

Maybe Huck offered him the VP spot.

Very disappointing after Huckabee used tax payer dollars to set up a Mexican Consulate in ARK w/the help of his best friend Vicente Fox.

Can't blame Tom Tancredo for going with Romney.  At least Romney didn't set up a Mexican Consulate and become best buds with Vicente Fox.

I am at a loss.  Severely disillusioned and incomprehensibly disappointed.  I personally disavow such an awful endorsement.  God preserve us from politicians and their pandering deals!

I don't know what to think now! Hunter was my first choice and is definitely the man on border control. Guess I'll have to respect the man's decision.

It looks like Thompson will endorse McCain now.  Tancredo endorse Romney, Hunter endorses Huckabee, now Thompson will endorse McCain.

I am ending my grassroots Hunter08 write in campaign.  Would like to have been a fly on the wall when that backroom deal was made.  Too bad...

Instead of respecting his decision why don't you look at it realistically? Hunter is a politician first, he is pandering, he is posturing for VP if, God forbid, Huckabee should become UGH president.

He said he got to know Huckabee on the campaign trail. Too bad he didn't research his record as governor. All liberal except for his position on abortion. Shame on Hunter.

You're exactly right!  Bend over and grab your legs!  Nothing will get done about the borders or it will be very long time.

Ugh says it all. I agree with all the posts on this page.  I guess those backroom deals come with the carrot of a VP or cabinet spot.  What tripe! I STILL will never vote for McCain.
