I attended  Mitt's Romney's rally Saturday night here in Jacksonville, Florida. Over 800 people braved the driving rain and tornado warnings to pack the UNF library auditorium. Many were people just like myself, conservative admirers of men like Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter, who are TREMENDOUSLY worried that the party is being overrun by liberals like John McCain and fast-talking half-conservatives like Mike Huckabee.

1. Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter, and Alan Keyes are NOT going to win the Republican nomination.

2. Since #1 is a fact and not an opinion, we conservatives must behave like adults and not petulant children. When you pout and go home because you don't like anyone but your guy, or maybe you don't like Mormons, you are IN FACT partially responsible for enabling the election of a Democrat socialist to the highest office in the land. Like it or not it's nearly the same mindset you can read at dailycos or democratic underground on any given day.

We conservatives are adults who care too deeply for the welfare of this great Republic to behave in such a manner.

So what did I see Saturday night? I saw an inspiring, brilliant, proven, physically fit, solidly conservative candidate who can beat EITHER of the Democrat socialist candidates! Mitt is the LAST real conservative in the race who can unite the party and beat back the red tide of Hillary/Bill Clinton or Barack Hussein Obama.

Here are a few highlights from the speech:

--Mitt wants to SHUT DOWN THE BORDER ASAP! No to Amnesty and YES on building a wall!

--Mitt wants to keep the current tax cuts going AND eliminate the death tax, the AMT, and drastically cut red tape and government intereference in American business life. He's a tax cutter. As he asked the crowd, "does government create or destroy wealth? Does government create or destroy JOBS?" He said it's vital to keeping America competitive and our economy the envy of the world.

--Mitt plans to increase military spending and KEEP radical Muslims on the defensive and off balance. As he said, "if you attack America you invite you own  destruction!"

--Mitt assured me personally after the event, "NOBODY will seize your personal weapons when I'm the President."

Ladies and gentlemen we conservatives have a new leader. The question is, will YOU follow Mitt to victory or stay home and accept a Democrat socialist President?

Let's support Mitt and beat back the Democrat red tide!

Morgan Orlins

He's the only hope we have left.  A vote for anyone else, while making a statement perhaps, is just a vote for the democrat.

Good for you SoCal! I'm a VERY recent convert to Mitt. Fred was a distant third yesterday so I took action. Mitt's a good man and the one we better follow.

Are you kidding me? He just recently re-invented himself as a conservative for the presidential position. His past record is as liberal as they get! Wake up and do your home work!

Hey tencz. I know many of you feel like Tom T dropped the ball on us. I too was a huge supporter of The Tanc. Now, here's a thought since he backed out of the race. $$$ for one...Not a good sponsor to get the ball rolling as we all knew that that is exactly what he needed to make a run for The Presidency. Last but not least, can you think of why he and Bay Buchanon endorsed Mitt? I think I know why. Any person out there, and yes, the lessor of two evils may it be, I feel like Tom backed him for the reason Tom was running and will carry this agenda out and also won't pander to libs as we are definitley in a sad state of affairs on Capitol Hill. Watch out brother..The crap is about to hit the fan....Osama Bin Laden Jr. now says he has a way to make peace with the western Culture??????

Did you hear what I heard? Kind of scary if you ask me and we need a firm hand in The White House.

That's it in a nutshell Patsy. We started this primary with 4 or 5 solid conservatives and a few RINOS. Mitt's the last solid conservative left and we better support him! What a guy too!

I don't think we have to worry about Mitt and his family values.  For Heaven's sakes, he has 5 children and 10 grandchildren.

Go see MittTV at www.mittromney.com and check out his ads.  He has a couple where he talks about family values and is very disturbed about all the violence, drugs and sex (and porn) that is out there for kids on music, TV and the internet.

Now you need to get realistic.  Allan Keyes and Fred Thompson and Ron Paul has zero chance of winning the nomination.  Rudy is a liberal.  Huckabee and McCain are disastrous on illegal immigration.  Now who's left?  Mitt was my governor and he is not a liberal.  Of course he had to bend to the lib state legislature now and then.  He's the only hope we have left.

Yeah, go keep reading his words. . . . then try and reconcile that with his record in office. . . he endorsed same sex marriage for crying out loud! If you only believe his campaign slogans, you'll fall prey to some serious delusion. God help America.

You get what you vote for, Patsy. Even if it's "less" liberal or "less" evil, it's still liberal and it's still evil.

You know, right now we have more things to worry about than same sex marriage - like our economy that's heading down the toilet and illegal immigration.

He had no choice in signing the bill....the legislature would have just overridden it. You think he wanted it? Think again and get a clue. Campaign slogans...pffffft. I lived under his so-called liberal record. It wasn't liberal. Just who do you suggest we throw our vote away on?

On the subject of Mitt and family values:

--he opposes gay marriage and FOUGHT activist judges in Mass. who imposed gay marriage on the state. He testified before congress in support of the Federal Marriage Amendment.

You can make the argument that that's not the job of the government if you want, but you CANNOT claim Mitt is "anti-family values." That's totally ABSURD!

You seriously need to get a grip, guy.  Mitt is NOT liberal and he is NOT evil!

Well, I wish you all the best. I've said my part. Here is the link to the story and the "report card" again. Go read it and do your home home work. I pray conservative American's make the right choice and not the "lessor of two evils" or "viable" choice out of fear and faithlessness.

Surprisingly, self-proclaimed family values champion, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, received the lowest score of zero points by the pro-family group.

In all fairness Patsy, Rudy is a damn good man and a proven leader. He's also a "moderate" for lack of a better term. He's not a liberal or a conservative but you KNOW what he stands for as opposed to the chameleons in this race, McCain and Huckabee. Wouldn't a Mitt/Thompson or a Mitt/Hunter ticket be nice?

I agree Rudy shined on 9/11 and he certain made Times Square safe.  His character leaves something to be desired, but that would be the least of my worries.  What concerns me more is the sanctuary city, and what FDNY says about him.  And yes....either ticket would be awesome!
