..until I read the Mitt thread below. Huckabee seems much stronger on OUR issue. I would vote for a block of wood at this point if it could beat Hussein Obama & Hillary and was against illegal immigration. I'll never vote for McCain. http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/p...

At this point Huckabee will say anything to get elected. I don't trust him. The dems would love for us to nominate him because a block of wood would have a better chance at winning the election.

Icarus, remember the old phrase...."Talk is cheap!"  So he signed a pledge.  Big deal  Does it mean anything?  No.  Is it enforceable?  No.  Is it a legal document?  No.  It's totally meaningless and holds no penalties whatsoever for backing out on the agreement.  The Hucksters record is attrocious!  Way worse than Romney ever dreamed of being on the issue.  Besides, we don't need a preacherman in the White House.  We need a leader.  And remember....during one of the debates he said the schools in Arkansas became something like 5th or 6th in the nation under his "leadership"?  BS!  Arkansas moved from 37th in the nation to 32nd.  Wow...some accomplishment!  Smartest State 2006-2007

Do not vote for Huckabee, he is not believable.  Look at his record before he started running for POTUS and contrast it with his "promises" now.  I also think this may be a setup to lose to the Dims.  Your McCain meter is functioning 100% correctly though.

What did I hear Huckabee say yesterday?  Something like "we need to make the Constitution more like the word of God"?  Not really comfortable with that!

Nor am I, FW.  The LAST thing we need in the bully pulpit is a "christian" preacher!

There's nothing straightforward that I've seen from Huck yet. A touchback policy for illegals that ranges from 48 weeks to 48 hrs? But when anyone criticizes him for his policy he claims that they can't technically because he hasn't stated the specifics yet. The TV ad that sneaks in the image of the cross behind his head by panning the glimmering window pane. Fudging the numbers on his accomplishments doesn't help him either. Quite honestly, most of us would prefer there was a Christian in the Whitehouse. However, being the "Preacher President" would make the ultimate personal test for keeping church and state separated. Most likely that would skew his judgement on hardline issues that could gravely affect him, us, and the rest of the world...especially when it's crunch time with the football, fourth down, first yard line, seven seconds to play...

The catchword I see in the pledge is (new). He isnt pledging not to use any old plans for amnesty.Just like with the mexican truckers,Bush and his people are continuing the plan regardless of the bill that Congress passed to stop it,saying that the pilot program is an existing plan, not a new one.I guess stopping the mexican trucks hinged on one word,so stopping Bush on that is dead!Huckabee is a liar! Romney on the other hand tells the voters in Michigan that he will bring the jobs back, and tells others elsewhere that we need more HB Visa workers imported to take jobs from Americans,as Bill gates wants.
