Call me a cynic but I don’t see anything being done while the rhinos and libs control congress. I remember the amnesty “debate” in the 80s and the only part of the whole deal that was followed through with was the amnesty part, no enforcement and the border was not closed.

Look at just this last year. We “stopped” amnesty and got the fence bill passed right? Wrong, they have castrated the fence bill and keep pushing for amnesty. Without wholesale change throughout the government none of them will be able to put this genie back in the bottle.

So many people, lobbyists, corporations and an entrenched government bureaucracy make wholesale change very unlikely. They all think they have too much to loose or are morally superior so our opinions do not count. Of course that is a shortsighted view because in less than one generation we will be a pathetic shell of what we could have been and the battle will be over the scraps. None of them have a real sense that they owe something to anyone but themselves and theirs, no sense of doing the right thing for generations yet unborn. The most obvious symbol of that thinking are the illegal immigrants. With few examples to the contrary the Latin American cultures have failed miserably on a continent and a third to treat people with dignity and allow them the freedom to become educated and act in another way other than their own narrow self-interest. Like locust when the have gorged on a crop and multiplied to the point where their current location cannot support them they move on. Not one thought of the long-term consequences of their actions. Their supporters like Bush, McCain and the Lib elite class are not much different. There are acting in their own narrow self-interest to get elected, power or because they really want to see the USA brought to its knees.

I am not convinced that the ballot box functions any more. So what do we do?

To Quote Alexander Tytler

“No republic has long outlived the discovery by a majority of its people that they could vote themselves largesse from the public treasury.”

All of the above groups have realized that they can take from our pockets for their own aims and we may be powerless to stop it.
