During my many years of following politics, there are numerous phrases used by politicians that are now BEYOND offensive to me. They are "hollow", and seldom accomplished to any degree, and I hereby demand that they are outlawed totally in the political arena!
"We need a candidate who will bring CHANGE to (fill in your favorite)." I've heard this from one or more candidates in every election -- have any of you observed any changes in the political process yet?
"I will FIGHT for (fill in your favorite cause)"Maybe they should all just quit fighting and git-er-done!
"Hard working (American or your state, county, city, etc.) families"
NO MORE
My Vice Presidential candidate can whip your Presidential candidate!
Ditto on the "CHANGE"!! I don't want to hear "back on the right track" either, or "move America forward". And I'm tired as can be of, "and my opponent......."
"A woman who demands further gun control legislation is like a chicken who roots for Colonel Sanders." Larry Elder
Oh wait.....another one I never want to hear again: "I will establish a blue ribbon committee to........" I used to have a sign that said, "Definition of Committee: A gathering of the incapable, selected by the unwilling, to do the unnecessary".
"A woman who demands further gun control legislation is like a chicken who roots for Colonel Sanders." Larry Elder
Then there's this one ~ When I am elected, I will---------
even if the person is elected, they rarely keep their promise to the voters. The REAL truth is, if I am elected I will screw you even worse than you are now, plus I'll raise taxes !
John Kerry was right, Jim, in his campaign phrase about Bush: "This administration gets an 'F' on its report card." Of course I'd give him an 'F-' in authoritative control if his "Don't taze me, Bro" seminar was an example of how well he handles unjust situations. Really assertive guy, hunh?

I just heard one of the Dims say "We're the party of John F Kennedy".........do they mean the same JFK that said "Ask not what your country can do for you......."? I think not.
"Good fences make good neighbors."-Robert Frost "Too BAD!!"-Glenn Beck
I thought Lloyd Bentsen put that one to rest finally...guess not. http://video.google.com/videoplay?doc... It's like don't even dare attach his name to yourself at all...

LOL...they do, don't they Jim. I can hear it now. "Senator Obama, how do you plan to implement change?" Obama says, "We must reform many of the programs we have in place now."
