As the dollar grows weaker in comparison to the Canadian dollar and the Euro, etc., and countries like Iran now require payment for their oil in Euros instead of our American dollars, there is a sense of a dollar doomsday in the air. Dollars that now look like they were printed for distribution in some 'banana republic' under the guise of making it less easy to be counterfeited. Dollars that are 'fiat money' backed by nothing and produced out of thin air by the 'Federal Reserve' that is no more part of the federal government than is 'Federal Express'!

At the same time, inflation is eating away at our dollar. That gallon of gas, food and clothing costs more and more every week while at the same time our wages are stagnant or non-existent due to job losses.
