There are 5 full days left before the real voting begins in Iowa. For the next year, Americans will be casting their votes for whom they believe should be our next leader. I am posting these questions for people to think about. These are all related to what America once was, is now, and what it will become. Some may offend, but there is nothing that doesn't offend somebody at some moment in time.
1) Will Iowans and other Americans bow down and vote for candidates who will throw this Country away?
2) Have people forgotten who and what truly made this Country great?
3) Do people really believe the current candidates when they say that they will work to change this Country?
4) How many times will it take voters to learn that most candidates say what they think Americans want to hear so that they can get elected?
5) When was the last time Americans voted in a President/Vice President combo that brought America together instead of dividing IT apart?
6) When is the last time that Americans stood up against an unruly government?
7) Where do you want America to be in the next 10 years? 20 years?
8) Can America ever become a more perfect Union and what will it take for that to happen?
These questions are designed to make you think about the current state of our Union. And, what is it that you're really expecting to change. If your answer is: America for the better. Then, you're expecting WAY TOO MUCH out of any of the current candidates because it will never happen. So, before you cast your vote, really think about what you can do. That answer should be clear, as well. Cast your vote for none of the current candidates. Or, cast your vote for the least likely to win because they have a few things that will work for America, but very few.
Thomas "Creampuff" Willems Marcus, Iowa __________________________ Protect OUR Customs, Protect OUR Laws, and Protect OUR Country!!!
Many, many millions of new residents do not and have never known or been able to begin to understand what has made this country great. Too many come with no understanding of their obligations to this society arising by dint of the fact that they are here to live and are not just here on vacation.
And our nation's leaders, at the behest of powerful, greedy forces have largely turned their backs on the principles and values that made this country great. And many who have come here from lesser lands hate us and either wish destruction upon us or wishto take our land for themselves and their own people.
This was in the good ole Des Moines Register today...
Resist pandering on immigration
Choose candidates who recognize work-force needs, will push for reforms.

Riled up by the broadcast marathon last week in Des Moines on the contentious topic of illegal immigration? Ready to take your ire to this week's caucuses?
That seemed to be the aim of the two-day event at the Marriott downtown sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform Congressional Task Force. The Washington-based organization drew radio talk-show hosts from around the country and released a new report claiming illegal immigration costs Iowans more than $200 million annually.
It's bad enough that the report is misleading. The group's calculations include U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants - who are U.S. citizens - as if they don't have the right to live in Iowa.
It will be worse if Iowans fall for this ruse and give their support on Thursday night to presidential candidates who play to people's fears.
Instead, Iowans should support candidates who favor stronger border security combined with practical, humane reform of the broken U.S. immigration system.
Iowa and the nation need immigrant workers. For the country's sake, Congress and President Bush should resolve in the new year to forge an agreement on immigration reform, though that appears unlikely. Otherwise, until election of a new president and Congress or beyond, the issue will continue to stir distrust of government and harden the nation's heart.
Battle over numbers...
The Federation for American Immigration Reform's $211.6 million figure for the net annual cost of illegal immigration in Iowa contrasts with a February report by the Iowa Legislative Services Agency that estimated the cost of undocumented immigrants to the state's general fund in fiscal 2004 at $107.4 million. That translated to an estimated $37 cost per legal resident for the fiscal year, the report said. Costs are partially offset by taxes illegal immigrants pay. An October study by the liberal-oriented Iowa Policy Project estimated that illegal immigrants pay $40 million or more in taxes each year.
Regardless of differences over numbers, the truth remains that a large number of undocumented people reside in this state, and it is unacceptable to leave them in limbo. The federation puts the number at 55,000, a fraction of the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants nationwide.
As a practical matter, wholesale deportation of workers and their families is not going to happen - despite stepped-up federal enforcement - so lawmakers must come up with a way to grant legal status to undocumented immigrants with good records otherwise. And future immigration quotas must be raised to meet U.S. employment needs and reunify families.
...and over words
Until that occurs, foes of that type of comprehensive approach to immigration reform will fan flames of resentment.
At the Thursday press conference promoting the new cost report, U.S. Rep. Steve King, a Republican who represents Iowa's 5th District, underscored the importance of having empirical data to evaluate the impact of illegal immigration on the economy and culture. He claimed Democrats cite only heart-tugging anecdotes.
"We cannot be the relief valve for all the poverty in the world," King said.
But he also tossed out figures that Mexico is three times more violent than the United States, and Honduras is nine time more violent and so on, though he did note that he wasn't alleging all immigrants are criminals.
"What kind of society do we want to live in?" King suggested people ask themselves.
Let's hope the answer is: Not one in which elected officials and special-interest groups pander to xenophobic instincts.
The Southern Poverty Law Center recently added the Federation for American Immigration Reform to its list of hate groups operating in the United States, a charge the group flatly rejects.
Costs that pay off
The federation's report for Iowa looks at education, health care and incarceration. The group says the bill for schools is by far the biggest share of the tab - $175.3 million a year. It covers an estimated 8,645 illegal-immigrant children and 12,000 U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants.
The report ignores, however, that investing in the education of all young people benefits their communities as well as the state and the nation. With education, they become part of the social fabric of America and contribute fully to the globally competitive work force this nation needs.
A new census estimate for our slow-growing state shows why this matters so much here: Iowa's population is inching up and could reach 3 million by mid-2008 - boosted by international migration.
Iowans should pressure national leaders to allow more legal immigration and make illegal immigration a problem of the past.
John, your words are very powerful. Hiya Creampuff, Tancsarmy and I am wishing you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. Me? I am and will continue to keep getting Tom's message out there. I'll take my signs down on New Years when I take the Christmas things down...I see alot of people jumping to Ron Paul. Don't hate me, but I cant vote for him. This is like watching Ross Perot when Billdoe won the Presidency. Ross took away the votes from Conservatiives. The same thing is happening now. Question is, where do we or I go from here? I have to trust my own judgement and back who I think would be best.
I don't want anyone in there that belongs to the CFR, NAU/SPP/LaRazza and open Borders. I heard recently that Chris Simcox put his backing to Ron Paul and Ron said himself that he would welcome and give amnesty to illegals. Makes me more astounded. Hmmmmm. So, I will go further from there.

Deerhunter, just curious Chris Simcox and Ron Paul joined at the border to discuss secure fence and no amnesty, cutting off benefits. Chris from all postings I saw is anti-immigration?
I know this bugbaggers and this is what I am confused about. Things are really getting twisted around. Ron Paul stated that if you are in America, then you will be granted Amnesty. That doesn't sound too patriotic to me but time will tell. My best friend just put his backing behind Ron Paul also and I have asked him to help me understand why and what reasons he had for doing so when he backed Tom Tancredo. Tanc was a different story altogether. Could it be that it is because they are all jumping o the immigration platform too. I knw plenty have and that is a lie from the dems and well Hucklebee is for it, but sugar coated it. So, you tell me. I am willing to listen to all stand points. I need to vote for the best. Not told who to vote for. I will make my mind up with plenty of time to go.
I certainly don't want to see the Ross Perot that put Billy and Hilly in the White House.

I'm looking real hard at Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and Duncan Hunter. Not neccesarilly in that order.

I have posted this before, but I am going to do it again. The 'good ole Des Moines Register' is owned by NEWS CORP/Rupert Murdoch; major player in the Council on Foreign Relations. I don't know when it was purchased, but you can bet the reason for it was to influence the Presidential Elections.
I am not willing to say that Ross Perot took votes away from the Republican Party in '92. Who is to say that people who voted for him would have voted to re elect 'read my lips' Bush-1? Maybe they would have just stayed home.

Deer out of curiosity, checked Ron Paul's press releases, newsletters and speeches it was consistent No Amnesty. Refused Fred Thompson because of CFR from jump street. Duncan not bad just don't think he will get support needed.

I have heard Ron Paul say a bunch of times hes against amnesty. An voting for paul in the primary wouldnt put hillary in the white house.. The thing that happend with perot was because he ran 3 party... An if paul were to run 3rd party i think he would take just as many dem votes as republician..

I want my vote to count but it won't because I have made up my mind that I'm voting for Hunter. The more I listen to these jokers, the so called top tier candidates, the more I know that I just cannot vote for any of them. I'm sure one of them is going to be elected but it won't be with my vote. Duncan Hunter is the only one left who has not wavered and represents what I want in a President. If he were to be elected he could change, as many have in the past, but going in I feel he is the best. I cannot understand why Iowans aren't more for him because supposedly the majority is concerned about illegal immigration. I may have to write his name in but I don't care. I will not vote for the lesser of evils.
You can vote for the liberal media's chosen '2' and most unqualified, Barack Hussein Obama (his real name) or 'Amnesty Huckabee'. Now,for those that are unnecessarily worried about the media's Mormon hype, here's something you really need to check into. Obama's continued relations with the well known racist pastor,Rev.Jeremiah Wright.
The reason the liberal press is pushing Huckabee to the front of the Republican line is because they know that he , McClain and Ron Paul are the only one's that the Democrats can beat.Don't take that 'hook ,line and sinker.'Also ,we have fought long and hard against amnesty...let's don't give up the fight now.
We don't need a 'chicken little' in 2008!
US Liberal Media:Propaganda, repeated one-sided information, damage the freedom of thought, and that is unacceptable discrimination!
not to mention that obama made a very nasty statement back in july when he and clinton were pandering to la raza in florida. this was reported in the investor's business daily: of the candidates who attended the convention, obama stood out as the most willing race-baiter, his chicago activist experience coming in handy. he denounced immigration bill foes as, "both ugly and racist in a way we haven't seen since the struggle for civil rights". are we all racist that are not for amnesty? i was really offended by that comment! by the way SKY KING i hadn't looked at the liberal media in that light before. my thought was, when they began to worry that a democrat might not get elected they looked around for republican candidates with their same agenda's and they came up with touchback huckabee and amnesty mccain their pushing huckabee in evangelical iowa and mccain in tough patriotic new hampshire. i hope we don't get stuck with these pro-amnesty candidates!
Last week I spoke about simple steps Congress should take to address the problem of illegal immigration.Simple, however, does not mean easy. While the American people are demanding real immigration reform, many in Washington lack the political will to do what is required.
That’s why I’ve joined my colleagues in the House Immigration Reform caucus in demanding legislation this year that focuses on securing physical control of our borders while rejecting amnesty in any form.Congress has taken notice, and took an important first step last week by passing the Secure Fence Act of 2006-- legislation that provides physical security by lengthening border walls and creating a virtual border fence that extends thousands of miles.
But many Senators, Representatives, and administration officials remain committed to pursuing amnesty in some form. The dictionary defines amnesty as a general pardon for offenders by a government, and most of the immigration reform proposals in both chambers of Congress certainly meet that definition.Millions of people who broke the law by entering, staying, and working in our country will not be punished, but rather rewarded with a visa and ultimately citizenship. This is amnesty, plain and simple.Lawbreakers are given legal status, while those seeking to immigrate legally face years of paperwork and long waits for a visa.
What message does this send to the rest of the world? If we reward millions who came here illegally, surely millions more will follow suit.Ten years from now we will be in the same position, with a whole new generation of lawbreakers seeking amnesty.
The immigration problem fundamentally is a welfare state problem. Some illegal immigrants-- certainly not all-- receive housing subsidies, food stamps, free medical care, and other forms of welfare. This alienates taxpayers and breeds suspicion of immigrants, even though the majority of them work very hard.Without a welfare state, we would know that everyone coming to America wanted to work hard and support himself. Since we have accepted a permanent welfare state, however, we cannot be surprised when some freeloaders and criminals are attracted to our shores.Welfare muddies the question of why immigrants want to come here.
Illegal immigrants also threaten to place a tremendous strain on federal social entitlement programs.Successive administrations support so-called “totalization” agreements that allow millions of illegal immigrants to qualify for Social Security and other programs- programs that already threaten financial ruin for America in the coming decades.Adding millions of foreign citizens to the Social Security, Medicare, and disability rolls will only hasten the inevitable day of reckoning.Social Security is in serious trouble already, and sending benefits abroad to millions of illegal aliens who once worked here will cost hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars.Every American who hopes to collect Social Security someday should stridently oppose totalization and amnesty proposals.
The problems associated with illegal immigration will not be solved overnight, but we cannot begin to address them until we take the hard steps of securing the borders, rejecting amnesty, and reclaiming our right as a sovereign nation to control immigration without apology.
I would never consider voting for OBama or Clinton. What I remember most of OBama is when the Hazelton, Pa. law was struck down by a liberal judge. OBama's statement was "This is a great day for all of America." That told me right there where he stood on illegal immigration. Not that I didn't already know.
Deer out of curiosity, checked Ron Paul's press releases, newsletters and speeches it was consistent No Amnesty. Refused Fred Thompson because of CFR from jump street. Duncan not bad just don't think he will get support needed.
I do not believe RP ever favored amnesty, but I have read that he would not deport those who are in the country illegally. He did say he would deny welfare benefits. He seems to be weak on workplace enforcement and I believe he favors giving illegal aliens drivers licenses.
Check his report card on American's for better immigration. The last time I checked, Al Gore had a better illegal immigration record than Ron Paul.
