DENVER - U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, who has been polling in low single digits throughout the Republican presidential campaign, has scheduled a "major announcement" concerning his long-shot campaign for Thursday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa.

Alan Moore, communications director for the campaign of Tancredo, R-Littleton, declined to comment on whether Tancredo might be withdrawing from the race. A second longtime Colorado associate of Tancredo, who said he was aware of the nature of the announcement, refused to comment on whether Tancredo was staying in the seven-contestant GOP race.

Previously, Tancredo has maintained that he would continue to compete through the Iowa caucus, Jan. 3, and New Hampshire primary, set for Jan. 8.

Tancredo is widely seen as a single-issue candidate, hammering away consistently on the topic of illegal immigration. A recent television advertisement drew widespread comment for its depiction of a hooded figure slipping into a shopping mall and leaving a back-pack bomb in a mall concourse, followed by the words, "Tancredo, Before It's Too Late."

Which really makes me wonder "Who's side is the Government On?" I think i know . Tom for years has hammered on secruity and Illegal immigration . Color me stupid but I think thats pretty dam important ! Plus i like his tax plan . Another SAD day in American . While the LIBS rant & Lie their way to power

I'd like to hope that Tom Tancredo isn't going to leave the campaign. I tend to believe that it's something more important. But, if it isn't, he's still getting my Caucus and General Election vote. I will not vote for anyone other that Tom Tancredo.

And, Tom Tancredo said the one thing that is correct when he was speaking on Cuvato yesterday afternoon, "Remember, this is the season of hope."

And, it's important to remember that I have HOPE for his campaign and his desire to stay in the race.

I'm so frustrasted.  I hope he doesn't drop out.  I could support Hunter but I will not support any other candidate.  Isn't it sad that in the United States of America we have such a sorry bunch of candidates to choose from?  I'm depressed today anyway what with everything that the House and Senate has done the past couple of nights.  You know I think it's time to start waterboarding Senators and Representatives.  The only problem I would have with this is deciding which one I would like to waterboard first.  Reid, Pelosi, Kennedy, Feinstein, Durbin.  The list is quite long you know.  Anyone want to help?  Seriously, though, the American citizens have been raped once again by our own government.  I hope the citizens of Texas don't forget that Hutchison is the one whose amendment gutted the fence funding.  I don't know when her term is up but I do know it isn't in 2008.

His interview yesterday was partly about the homeland security bill and partly about Ramos and Campean.

I am not ready to believe that Tanc is going to pull out of the campaign.  He is too stand up a fella.  I believe he would give notice to his supporters through our email if this were his plan.  He has no problem using it to continue to ask for more money.

Does  anyone know if this is going to be broadcast live and where we can see it?

If Tancredo indeed withdraws from this race, his supporters will NOT - especially after the government-spending bill that our elected slimers just passed! I agree with Creampuff! This American ONLY supports Tancredo! It's time for Americans to ACT !!!!

On the one hand I think it is presumptious for us to assume that he is bowing out.

On the other hand I wonder if running as an Independent isn't the RIGHT way for him to go. Anyone know (or guess) about timeline issues here...such as when is the last date a candidate can get on the primary or general election ballot as running for office in ALL of the states ? When would be the absolute minimum date to do adequate prep (form an organization, raise money and campaign HARD) as an Independent Presidential candidate ?  To me it seems those dates are coming on us SOON.

A long time ago I wrote and asked Tom to run as an Independent.  I received a reply that he wouldn't leave the Republican party.  I hope that he has changed his mind.  I guess we can only speculate at this time.  We'll all know tomorrow.

The polling numbers I have seen for Tom confirm my belief that the voters in this country are truly ignorant.  When style rules over substance our Republic is in serious peril.  I believe Tom is one of the few in public office who is sincere and his concern for our Constitution is paramount.

What no one is saying is that the major players in our government are working to destroy our country.  The trade agreements that have been signed, the tax code, importation of illegal aliens and increases in visas for non-citizens, a blind eye to the atrocities of Putin, acceptance of blantant spying by China and financial aid given to all are recipes for disaster.

When will the vast brainwashed regain consciousness and decide that our country's existence is more important the all the sports, soap operas, music or video games they fill their brains with?

The only candidates that will truly change this downward spiral through the drain are Tom, Duncan Hunter or Ron Paul.

God bless our troops, America and Americans.

Yes, we must continue to hope the news from Tom is good tomorrow. I found it highly disturbing that Tanc did not mention his campaign when he was on Cavuto yesterday!!! Not one question about it, and not one comment about it from either Tom or Cavuto.

If this indeed happens, we supporters must take it upon ourselves to regroup! Any ideas? I truly believe that as this election gets closer, most Americans will wish they had paid closer attention to Tom, or donated money to his campaign, or helped in other ways. As I told Tom in Ames, Iowa last July, "No matter what happens with your campaign, this fight for our country will not end here in Iowa, nor in January. We will continue fighting for our nation's sovereignty and we will gain supporters one by one until we take our country back!" Tom humbly agreed and thanked me for the words of encouragement.

Tancredo To Drop Out: Confirmed; Likely to Endorse Tomorrow

Fox News and NBC report that Tom Tancredo will drop out of the race tomorrow, and he will likely endorse a candidate.

Most speculation suggests that he will endorse Fred Thompson.

However, Mitt Romney is apparently pushing hard for Tancredo’s backing too.

This is sad, Graciela.  We just hope and pray that Tom will either try the Independent route, or run for the soon to be vacant Senate seat in Colorado, or be offered a worthy government position  in a Republican administration.

Since Fred Thompson's immigration plan is a copy of Tom's, perhaps Tom will go ahead with an endorsement, and since his good friend  S. King endorsed Fred, this may be Tom's only option to get any of his ideas and platform into play.

We wish him the best no matter what his decision, and we'll continue to support him as a leading figure in the turnaround of our country.

If indeed Tom drops out , neither Fred nor Mitt can EVER get my vote. I hope that Tom sends his endorcement to Duncan Hunter. That will be (if Tom bows out) my final desperate hope for this election cycle.

I just caught the same "announcement" on Lou Dobbs (Kitty). Hope it is not true. If it is, Americans will wish they had supported Tom, as the true colors of the other candidates will begin to shine in a few months. If you are interested in keeping Tancredo momentum going, please contact me or Tancsarmy.

So, he has low poll numbers.  At this stage, with Iowa and NH so close, why not just stick it out for a couple more weeks and see what happens?  I hope it's not true and that he stays in for at least the first "round."

2012 ? "Tancredo for 2012 " ???  Let us see in 2012: 80 million illegals have been amnestied into citizenship, the United States approved Socialized Medicine and went bankrupt and  the NAU is now a reality, the super hiway is finished thru texas and the land condemned thru Oklahoma north to Minneosota, the banking system uses the Amero, working citizens pay a 70% witholding rate on income, all privately owned firearms were confiscated in house to house searches,  cameras have been installed EVERYWHERE and the Clintons declared themselves King and Queen of North America.  !!!! Did I leave anything out ?

Maybe I'm overreacting......but maybe not. Check out those deadlines looming for events in the SPP and NAU.

Tanc4prez said: We're going to start a "Tancredo for 2012" campaign.

I spoke with Tom about it in Odebolt, Iowa when he was there. He said he wasn't sure if he was going to run or not. But, I told him he must. We need him in the White House, especially if I'm sitting in the U.S. House of Representatives. I also told him that I need to have him as the President to back my agenda. He agreed. So, I took that as a good sign that he would run in 2012.

I have my speech already to be delivered on January 3rd at the Iowa Caucus. It will be delivered even if he's not in the race anymore. I hope everyone will do the same at their Caucus and Primary when it comes around.
