My Candidate Speech for the Iowa Caucus on January 3rd.

I have written the speech I will be making at the Iowa Caucus on January 3rd. I have added it here to share it with everyone. If other people would like to add theirs they are more than welcome to. If not, that's fine too. This thread isn't just for the Iowa Caucus. It's actually for any Caucus or Primary. I only labeled it what I did because that's when I will be giving my speech, at the Iowa Caucus on January 3rd.

Tonight, we are faced with the daunting task of choosing whom we would like to have as the Republican nomination for the next President of the United States of America. Many of us have already chosen and I’m sure some have not. Therefore, it is each person’s goal to persuade others as to why the candidate they have chosen is the right person to be President.

Let me first start off by saying that I have chosen Tom Tancredo as the person who I believe is right for the Presidency.

Tom is dedicated to protecting America from an invading force of Illegal aliens who claim they have a right to be here. Nowhere in the Constitution of the United States of America does it give Illegal aliens the right to sneak across our borders and demand any Rights. Tom Tancredo will fight to make sure that American citizens and legal Immigrants are allowed to hold the jobs that Illegal aliens are taking. We cannot allow the trend of Illegal aliens coming across our porous borders any longer. And, there is no other Republican candidate that will secure our borders like Tom Tancredo.

I know the other candidates have bombarded the air-waves with the message that they will be tough on Illegal immigration. But, it wasn’t until Tom Tancredo started gaining in the polls that they started making this claim. In fact, they are starting to adopt many of Tom’s stances, especially Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Rudy Guiliani.

Tom Tancredo has been a long-time advocate for allowing parents to choose what schools they want their children to go to. He also supports allowing vouchers to be given to those families that cannot afford to send their children to the schools of their choice. This is common sense. It is only proper to help those that can’t help themselves. And, by allowing vouchers to be given the taxpayers would be helping children get a good education that they so deserve.

That good education will help children earn a good-paying job so that companies don’t have to look to hire cheap labor. That is why we are having a major problem with Illegal aliens invading our Nation, companies want cheap labor instead of paying a living wage. With that cheap labor come majority populations of Spanish speaking people. Mainly, that cheap labor force is from Mexico and the Latin American countries. Our whole demographic is changing so that American businesses and schools pander to them by requiring students and employees to speak Spanish. Businesses can require that a person be bi-lingual in order to get hired. Yet, those same businesses can’t require them to speak English only. The Salvation Army of all organizations got fined for trying to require that their workers speak English only. Ask yourself, isn’t this the type of country we fought against in World War II? Wasn’t Germany trying to take over Europe by doing the exact same thing? What did America do? We fought for the Freedoms we have today.

That is exactly what Tom Tancredo has fought to do for the past nine (9) years in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has continued to fight for our Freedoms while fighting to protect America from the Islamo-fascist groups that would like to destroy America. We are currently fighting them in Iraq and Afghanistan. Therefore, we must keep them over there instead of allowing them to come and fight in America. We must keep them from coming through our porous borders. But, if we don’t secure our borders the threat will never go away.

America’s threat to be destroyed doesn’t only come from outside our borders, it comes from inside them as well. Our education, health care, and welfare systems are being destroyed because of all of the Illegal aliens who are abusing the systems for their own personal benefit and sucking the money from the legal Americans who deserve it. For example, hospitals can’t afford to stay open because there is an influx of Illegal aliens in the emergency rooms. Therefore, hospitals have to close and Americans can’t get the health care that they sorely need. So, ask yourself, “What kind of Nation are we if we can’t take care of our elderly and sick population?”

Is this the type of Nation we want to continue with or do we want to make things better for the future generations to come? I believe, we can all agree that we want to make things better. But, we can’t do that if we elect a President that just says what people want to hear and doesn’t work to make America better. That is why more and more people are leaving the two major parties, Republican and Democrat. There is a growing number of people who are becoming Independents because they have lost faith in the ruling parties. They are looking for someone that will work for America instead of themselves. They want change and the candidate that can provide the change is Tom Tancredo.

Therefore, I am asking you to vote your conscience. And, your conscience should tell you that Tom Tancredo is the right man to be our next leader, the President of the United States of America.

That is a good speech, Creampuff, and I wish Tom could read it and be in Iowa to converse with his supporters there.  Hopefully there will be some people who vote their conscience on January 3rd.

Great speech Creampuff.  I don't mean to criticize but in the fourth paragraph did you mean to say "pious border" or "porous border"?  Hopefully by the time the Iowa Caucus rolls around more people will have heard of Tom and vote for him.

Mammaw, I did mean porous, not pious. I did change it so that it correctly states what I mean to say.

I believe, this speech touches on the fact that Illegal immigration touches all aspects of American society as Tom Tancredo continues to point out. And, that he'll tackle the situation that is brewing around America by tackling the Illegal immigration problem. We will see the residual effects if we can secure the borders and take away all of the incentives that draw Illegal aliens to America.

At least, that is what I hope this speech portrays to everyone.

Crempuff;  I'm not real familiar with the caucus process but do you think that there are those out there who can be persuaded to vote for Tom or is it a case of by the time the speeches are made everyone has their minds made up?  I really cannot understand why Tom is not doing better because he is straightforward on where he stands and most of Americans want the very things done that he stands for.

I like it CP, but all it talks about is illegal immigration. We all know that Tom leads ALL candidates in the immigration area. He needs to start hitting home runs on all of the other issues!

 I believe any speech about or by Tom should be 35% about Illegal immigration, 20% about War on Terrorism (Islamo -Fascism throughout the world),  15% on Iraq/Afghanistan and how we can end it (a good example of "WE WIN" would suffice), 15% on Social Security and 15% on Health Care

So for an hour speech, roughly 20 mins on illegal immigration, 12 minutes on the War on Terrorism (Islamo-Fascism throughout the world), 10 minutes on Iraq/Afghanistan and how to end it, 10 minutes on SS, and 10 on health care. 

Agree?

I feel I have added adequate points on other issues than just Illegal immigration. I have spoken about education and health care. They both deal with the economy. That's something that's important to Americans.

And, where I come from, many people haven't even heard of Tom Tancredo even though he has been extremely outspoken on Illegal immigration. So, I believe, even if they have already chosen a candidate they can be persuaded to change their mind.

I just want to make mention, when President Bush ran in the 2000 election people were persuaded to vote for him because of a speech I made at the Caucus in his favor. I found this out from the Undersecretary of Agriculture, Tom Dorr, with whom I know personally. I know his family, including his wife Anne and their children. They are all from my hometown, Marcus, and I went through elementary, middle, and high school with his daughter Allison (Christopher Rant's secretary - Republican in the Iowa House) and his son Andrew (Former Tommy Thompson's campaign manager/strategist).

I know that this may not mean much to anyone, but it did me in the fact that such a high ranking Republican had great things to say about the way I could persuade people to come on board with who I had chosen to be the next President.

I believe, this speech can and will do the same as what has happened in the past. I really think that this has just the right amount of Illegal immigration, education, and health care to resignate into what Tom Tancredo believes is his greatest strength.

That is exactly why I had written it the way I did. And, I plan to make the speech as it appears above.

I am not trying to be rude to anyone, but I feel I will be able to accomplish more in the form that it is now.

I like it as well CP and although there is a real need to talk about the Illegal issues since the others do a drive-by gloss over I can agree somewhat with RayJ about working in a few other issues that relate.    I am a native Iowan transplanted in the desert and understand the hot-button issues with the midwest family values folks.  

As for health care, my personal feeling is it is not something the govt should be handling anyway and you do touch on the cost factors and damage illegal invaders are causing to the current taxpayer supported system.   If someone could find away to work toward bringing down the obscene cost of prescriptions, hospital care, etc.. that would hit home with sovereignty loving americans.

Conservative Iowans are very educated and independent thinkers and someone should mention that Tom supports all constitutional God-given rights such as free speech and the right of individuals to keep and bear arms.  It has been virtually ignored by all except Fred Thompson.

As for the wars, He has mentioned his strong stand on the defense of America including the all important first step in Defense of our borders.

I LOVED his Iowa debate answer that included a pardon for Ramos and Compean as his first act in office , (could he promise to relieve Johnny Sutton of his position as well ?) ;-) 

Overall if you leave it as is, it will be great, just wanted to include some other options to court those undecided who have litmus tests (ex: 2nd Amendment) or other core value important issues as RayJ00 opined. 

Go Get em !   The issues do matter more than the presentation.  Or             " What's in the box matters more than how fancy the package is "

How many Caucus persons will get to vote in Iowa?  Is it won by simple majority?

My guess is they will all be Republican people voting and no Democrats.  They have their own time for 'rough and tumble.'

I guess, I didn't exactly answer the question, "Agree?", per se. So, I'll do that now.

I went through courses that dealt with Constituitonal Law and other aspects of the Police Science program offered by Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City in the early 1990s. One thing I was taught, "When in a Court of Law, the side that makes the best presentation is the side that usually wins". That's what I'm going by with what I have written. I believe, the presentation is what will persuade the people instead of just the issues. And, the issues have to all be connected to one another in just the right way in order for people to really associate themselves with. That's what I've done. I've connected Illegal immigration with jobs, education, health care, and the English language. They're all retrospective of one another and needs to be handled in that manner. It's proper way to make a genuine, heart-felt plea to the people so that they'll be convinced to side with you.

It's just my up-bringing that has led me to make this as accurate and compelling as possible.

Creampuff;  I feel better knowing that you have a real chance to change minds.  I truely believe that Tom has been short changed in all the debates and if people would just have the opportunity and listen to what his total message is he would be doing much better in the polls.  The fact that he declined to participate in the Spanish debate goes a long way with me.  I'm waiting on the French, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Swedish, Swiss, etc., etc., etc. debates.  I mean if we are going to be politically correct let's do it right.  These idiots from LaRaza and all other pro illegal groups who complain that the Spanish are being harassed must think we are really stupid to not realize just where the problem comes from.

From what I have heard, there's only about 6% of the actual voters in Iowa that even turn out for the Caucus - Information came from an interview with Iowa GOP and Democrat Party officials on MSNBC.

The last time I attended the Republican Caucus, in the 2000 election, the candidate with the most votes won. So, I guess, you could say it's by simple majority. At least, that's the way it was done in the precinct of Cherokee County (Marcus Amherst Sheriden and others). It's a small town/area and so they do it by simple majority.

Yes, the Republicans and Democrats have separate ways of doing the Caucus. The Republicans are the easiest. We will go in, make our speeches, vote, and leave. The Democrats will go in, vote once and if the candidate a person chooses don't have 15% of the number of people present they have to choose a candidate that does have 15%, they vote again, and then go home.
