ALERT: Remember how liberals in the U.S. Senate put up roadblocks to so many of President Bush’s good conservative judicial nominees?

They’re at it again.

This time, the reason goes beyond just politics. This time, it’s all about revenge.

Former U.S. Congressman James Rogan of California was one of the House Managers during the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton in the 1990s. To “get him back,” the Democrat party poured millions into his next race, and defeated his re-election bid in a contest that was the most expensive House race in history. Rogan then went on to serve as the head of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and, since last year, as a Superior Court Judge in California.

Now, President Bush has nominated him to be a U.S. District Court judge for the central district, based in Los Angeles. The American Bar Association committee that reviews judicial nominees endorsed him as "well qualified," and a bipartisan judicial selection commission designed to find consensus candidates, led by Los Angeles investor Gerald L. Parsky, recommended Mr. Rogan for the judgeship.

There’s just one problem: Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) is blocking Rogan’s nomination in the Senate, “citing his lead role in the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton as one of her concerns” and his “strongly conservative positions on gun control, abortion and other issues,” according to press reports.

That’s how liberal Democrats operate: petty partisanship and revenge for grudges.

And this time, it’s one liberal Democrat who has blocked the judicial nomination of a good man, for over a year now.

It’s time to STOP this liberal obstructionism, and DEMAND that Judge Rogan’s nomination move forward -- and we’ve got just the way to do that!

TAKE ACTION: Mr. Rogan is undeniably qualified, and has bipartisan support not only from conservative Republicans (he had a perfect 100% score in Congress from the American Conservative Union), but from across the political spectrum, from former Chief Counsel to President Clinton, Lanny Davis, and former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, to Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich and most of the California House delegation, including Jane Harman, Anna Eshoo and Grace Napolitano.

This block by Sen. Boxer is partisan revenge, pure and simple. But the American system of justice shouldn’t suffer just because of her bitterness -- so we need to RISE UP and DEMAND that our Senators overcome this obstructionism!
