Dems voting to officially recognize Ramadan but not Christmas

I thought I just read on another thread that congress narrowly voted to recognize Christmas and 6 democrats votes NO, and some others voted "present".

Oh, Tencz, you know the answer to this one.  It's the nitwits on the hill trying to be so PC.  Translation:  When they recognized Ramadan after never (that I've heard of) recognized a Christian holy day, they were no doubt inundated with nasty emails, snail mails and phone calls.  This is just a little pandering to hopefully shut up the screaming masses.  In other words, they tossed a few crumbs.  Big deal, huh?  (Now.....we go crawl back in our corners and enjoy the crumb feast!)
