what do you thik about the Chip under Your Skin?

Our Goverment would like to have evryone have a chip inbedded,So as they can easily keep track of us. They already have a club that caters to only patrons that have the chip and no money is needed,The chip is scanned and your dinner and drinks are paid for.

What I think is: Anybody that hasn't heard what Evangelists have been saying about "the chip" for twenty years now has been living under a rock. And of course Big Brother wants to track which rock....convenience of use is the obvious lure into the grid.

Big Brother is alive and well and he is here!

We can all be monitored through GPS systems, cell phones, motel key cards that record your financial info, virtually any electronic device. I, for one, do not need a cell phone. I got along without it quite well for years and still do. It is not necessary for my whereabouts to be known by God knows who every minute of the day. I do not need this umbilical cord attached to my ear all day. As for GPS, I've always found a map to be a useful item. I can actually read it. Problem is, the new chips are small enough to fit into credit cards and I have even heard of it being implanted in material. We are not, and never will be, told just what products contain these chips.

The Chinese, of all nations we trust, will be installing similar devices in the coming superhighway system, supposedly to monitor the weights of trucks as they move through our country.

This is going to sound even more paranoid. But it brings to mind the subject of Area 51 in Roswell, NM and the stories of UFOs. Do we really believe we have progressed this far in the technological field and are so intelligent that this run of new computerized products came strictly from American minds? Every week, a new product comes out. There is now a "pen" that translates written language into computer language for downloading into your computer.

The premise for this RFID to be implanted in every citizen was the accessibility of medical information in case of emergency; blood-type, medical history, etc. Problem is - do we really know what kind of information will be put into this chip? We are continually being lied to - who do we believe? Is it not possible this device could be harmful to your health and perhaps even eliminate you long-range?

This RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification Device) is an actuality and can be googled and much info found about it. I read many interesting articles on it when the subject first came up on this site. Check it out.

I know a lady whose friend of a friend's suv broke down-and she couldn't figure out what was wrong. The vehicle had the new OnStar diagnostic system installed so she contacted them and they told her to wait 15 minutes and then try to start her car again. Lo and behold it started right up.

OnStar fixed it remotely by re-setting the computer.  Now of course this is good in these type of cases, but just think of the tracking possibilities and other ways this technology could be abused and misused. 

I think I will buy a 60's or 70's hot rod for my next vehicle, but then what about the replacement parts that will be chipped?  Anything can be as Mz said above.

Thanks, Alamo, for seeing my views. I have been called paranoid for many moons and even accused of wearing an aluminum foil cap, but you know, I don't care anymore as I have seen many things come to pass that people scoffed at me for.

This nation has become as morally corrupt and bankrupt in more ways than  I can count anymore. Every facet of our society - our supposed leaders, our corporate outsourcing "bloodsuckers", corporate agricultural with its overinflated prices, our pharmaceutical industry that holds back potential cures or charges outrageous prices for them... name an industry that is not overly greedy.  I feel like Diogenes with his lantern, searching the land for an honest man. You are only bringing out the negatives of said chips.  Can you think of any positives, like knowing exactly the whereabouts of a parolled child molestor, or maybe an elderly person with altzheimers that wanders off, among other positives.  Don't allow "future shock" and paranoia to throw your thinking completely out of kilter.  Remember too,who's truly in control.  And by all means let's not make it mandatory.

  Every technological advance falls into the realm of do you trust someone to use good judgement and to not exceed the hard boundaries of personal constitutional freedoms.  

Item # 1)  Child Molesters should NOT be parolled.  If they remain locked up we won't need a chip to find them after they do it again.   The chip prevents nothing other than a chance to put them back into a sick and broken legal system after they commit another crime against another unfortunate child. 

Elderly people with Alzheimer's should be under quality competent professional care if they are prone to wandering off.  ( I would hope the $4000 a month they charge would be enough to handle that.   If they wander off into traffic and get run over ( the chip is not a force field) it would make it easier for the emergency personnel to identify the dead body but the chip did not prevent a death.  We are not pets.

  As long as there are greedy abusive people in Government who repeatedly overstep their authority in our lives, we can't afford to give them any more tools by which to control us, they have enough thank you.  We give in and we will regret it.    Get yourself a chip if you want it, none for me thanks.  I don't care if they make them in Cherry Chocolate or other designer colors and I don't need "future shock" to influence me.  I read the paper and watch the news, the evidence is all over that our government is arrogant and full of crooks.

The negatives of this chip implant idea far outweigh the positives. The implementation of this "plan" will lead to total loss of freedom for every citizen who submits to it. 

While it would be helpful for lost children and people with Alzheimer's or memory loss or finding lost pets, the price is too high. How about having people take more responsibility for their loved ones and keep track of them themselves? When did it become the government's responsibility to care for the welfare of your family members? I, personally, do not trust them enough to hand over the lives of my loved ones. 

The government does not care enough for its constituents to worry all that much about our welfare, so I do not see it as helpful to us but as another plot to control us. No one will be able to know what information would be put upon this chip - medical records - fine; financial info - nobody's business but my own; my personal likes, dislikes and whereabouts and habits - also nobody's business  but my own. Do you think you will be told honestly about what is on this chip and maybe even get a printout? I think not. It is not inconceivable, given the current duplicity of this government, that some kind of destructive aspect could be included on this chip.

So, Gerald, while you continue to play devil's advocate and continually nay-say every thread on this forum, enjoy your life now as it is quickly going to change if things continue at their present pace.

My step-grandfather lived 85 years and wouldn't fly.  He only did once and he was so senile at the time he didn't even know he was.  Before he became this senile he'd give you a thousand reasons not to fly, that it was evil. He'd been a harness maker most of his life, and wasn't too keen on automobiles either. He passed away in the 60's.  As for getting a chocolate brown chip or any chip, yes, it will be my choice should I ever need one. Until I ignore or break forum rules I too have a freedom to express my thoughts.  You don't have to agree with me, and to think EVERYONE agrees with you is rather naive. Also, we vote in our representatives. So, if you don't like who is representing you, then vote in someone else. Too much B.S. talk about overthrowing our government and seceding, and anarchy type speech, conspiracy theories, vigilante law, and threats is not going to resolve anything either, rather it will just throw us into a turmoil that will cause us to surely lose what we've obtained.
