This much I do know ----- I'm waiting for someone to have the COJONES to say they ALL must go back and not WIENIE OUT at the first media blast. That person gets my vote regardless of party.
Next item, Treason in the Congress --- You can say anything on the floor of Congress. However, if you do that on foreign soil in time of war, you have commited treason. Some democRATS did that. Who among the republicRATS will pursue this???? NO COJONES !!!!!
TAXES --- Repeal the 16th Amendment. Pass the National Sales Tax at 10%. To reduce the % requires 51% vote; to increase the % requires 75% vote. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it. Congress will figure out a way to force you to spend enough to satisfy their appetite for money. Like maybe you break the law if you don't buy your kid a dirt bike at age 6.

Re: the straw poll... I'd hold my nose and vote for Giuliani, but would prefer not to. Over a Democrat, I would vote for most of the current aspirants. I will not, however, vote for either Ron Paul (too extreme in my view) or McCain (who disqualified himself from the job of protecting and defending the Constitution by undermining the First Amendment so blatantly with Campaign Finance "Reform").
I'm not so sure lately that Hillary is going to win the Democrat party nomination, but it doesn't really matter to me who does. They all stand for the same policies, more or less.

I voted, and my preferred candidate is Tom Tancredo. He has been on the border security issue and the illegal immigration issue since January 1999. All of the other GOP candidates put it on the back burner until a late entry in the campaign hijacked his platform in late October. Now they all want to talk about it.
I will tell you something none of the Top Tier will talk about and that is North American Union, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg Group.

Arlyn N; You need to go to numbersUSA and check Thompson's voting record on illegal immigration. Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo are the only ones who are and have always been against anything favoring the illegal aliens. Checks their records at numbersUSA also. We need one of them for president and the other for vice president.
Done. This whole businees is so disappointing. I'd expect Fred T. to drop significantly. Would prefer Tom Tancredo (whose raison d'etre is combatting illegal immigration!) or Ron Paul but don't believe in Santa anymore. Of the crop of Dem likelies, and I, sadly, expect them to win, I just don't give a damn. After 40+ years as a Republican, I turned independent a couple months ago, with Bush having me think about it for some time and the final straw being Trent "The Quitter" Lott's little tantrum when we spoke out on Amnesty. Enough!
Hey Fair Tax guys, I read a question on the fair tax once and never read a good answer.
I person works all his life and pays income taxes, but he saves for his retirement. Now he is retired, so he spends saved money on which he has already paid full taxes to enjoy his life. By your 'Fair Tax', he will be paying taxes a second time on his savings. How fair is that ?

The amount saved would be pre-tax, as it has not been spent to incure tax yet; also, there is a minimum level of expenditure that qualifies for reimbursement which would provide protection for low-income, retirees, etc...
I also prefer Tancredo, but his wood is wet and would do, at best, as VP.
Paul makes me vervous Perot-style ; I think he'll fold.
Huckabee looks like the best be @ this point. Too bad, but it could be worse: Giuliani.
I agree with glibnix on Tancredo and Ron Paul. Huckabee sounds better and better.
I just have a mental block about voting for another former Gov from Arkansas, especially from HOPE, Arkansas.
Guess it might be much like the mental block some "Christians" have about voting for Romney because he is a Mormon. If that isn't the most un-American thing I have ever heard of.
Romney is much better known than Huckabee, and he has a proven track record of running private businesss successfully, and look what he did with the mess he took over with the Winter Olympics in Utah.
