I can't get too worked up about this bill at this point anyway.  It does contain the following stipulation:

SEC. 899E. PROTECTING CIVIL RIGHTS AND CIVIL LIBERTIES WHILE PREVENTING IDEOLOGICALLY BASED VIOLENCE AND HOMEGROWN TERRORISM.

`(a) In General- In carrying out this subtitle, the Secretary shall ensure that the efforts of the Department to prevent ideologically based violence and homegrown terrorism as described in this subtitle do not violate the constitutional rights, civil rights, and civil liberties of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents.

`(b) Commitment to Racial Neutrality- The Secretary shall ensure that the activities and operations of the entities created by this subtitle are in compliance with the commitment of the Department to racial neutrality.

`(c) Auditing Mechanism- The Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Officer of the Department shall develop and implement an auditing mechanism to ensure that compliance with this subtitle does not result in a disproportionate impact, without a rational basis, on any particular race, ethnicity, or religion and include the results of its audit in its annual report to Congress required under section 705.'.

    (b) Clerical Amendment- The table of contents in section 1(b) of such Act is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 899 the following:

"A woman who demands further gun control legislation is like a chicken who roots for Colonel Sanders." Larry Elder

And that's going to stop them how?

Instructions on how to be a neocon.
I support the troops who still have moral values, but I don't worship them. I do not support the occupation of Iraq. I believe the opposite of anything George W. Bush says and support Chuck Baldwin for President. I am a Mormon, Libertarian, 9/11 Truther, Alex Jones listener, Ron Paul supporter, and proud of it!

RE Bill S.1959/ HR 1955, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act

This is not about one political party versus another. H.R. 1955 and S. 1959 represent overwhelmingly bipartisan Congressional attempts to suppress our Freedom of Speech and to criminalize our AMERICAN RIGHT to OPPOSE THE GOVERNMENT.

I agree with Representative Kucinich, who voted against Senate Bill1959. He said “.... this bill really sets the stage for further criminalization of protest. This is the way our democracy little, by little is being stripped away from us.

This bill, I believe, is a clear violation of the first amendment.” Kucinich referred to the bill as the “thought crime bill,” saying that, “We have freedom of speech. Thoughts, sometimes, proceed speech. There is usually a unity in thought, word and deed.”

Please contact your senators and encourage them to kill (HR 1955 / S 1959).

There is a petition against the bill at:http://www.petitiononline.com/19551959/petition.html

So far, roughly 4000 people have signed the petition opposing Bill S.1959/ HR 1955.
