Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Disappoints
Joel S. Hirschhorn
RFK, Jr. has disappointed millions of liberals, progressives and environmentalists by endorsing Hillary Clinton. RFK, Jr. once said: “the Republicans are 95 percent corrupt and the Democrats are 75 percent corrupt.”  This has been widely quoted because of its honest assessment of the corrupt two-party system.
He has also pointed out: "While communism is the control of business by government, fascism is the control of government by business.  …The biggest threat to American democracy is corporate power.  …our most visionary political leaders have warned the American public against the domination of government by corporate power. That warning is missing in the national debate right now. Because so much corporate money is going into politics, the Democratic Party itself has dropped the ball. They just quash discussion about the corrosive impact of excessive corporate power on American democracy."
Those these statements were made some time ago, a few days ago on November 28 he talked about the impact of industry on environmental agencies: “It’s been a revolving door of plunder.”  Kennedy saved special scorn for “the negative and indolent press of this country,” which he said has become controlled by corporate interests in the last 20 years.  “Americans have become the best-entertained, least-informed people on earth,” Kennedy said.  He also said five companies control 80 percent of newspapers and almost all radio, and those corporations are not in business to tell news thoroughly or fairly.  “The only ideology they represent is their own pockets,” Kennedy said.
So his criticism of the corporate plutocracy seems as strong as ever. Such honest views of the sad state of America have made Kennedy the darling of many people – independents, liberals, progressives and environmentalists. But the news that this esteemed honest liberal has endorsed the candidacy of Hillary Clinton was startling.
Now he says: “Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience to bring the war in Iraq to an end and reverse the potentially devastating effects of global warming.  …Hillary will inspire the real change America needs."  That Kennedy can see Hillary as an agent of change is a betrayal of all the good will that Kennedy has built up over many years. Kennedy said he feels "very uncomfortable" about the amount of corporate money flowing into Clinton's campaign, "But I also think you can't come into this race with one arm tied behind your back."  How’s that for convenient rationalization?
There is no reason why any sane American should be very comfortable about the poisonous and corrupting amount of corporate money dumped into Clinton’s campaign. In examining media coverage of Kennedy’s endorsement of Clinton I could find no references to his earlier critical remarks of Democrats and the corporatist plutocracy.  But people commenting on the New York Times article often were aghast at his endorsement, noting that it would have made much more sense for him to endorse Obama or Edwards.  Bloggers, so far, have also not been critical of the Kennedy endorsement.  The progressive community seems frozen by self-delusion and unwilling to criticize their adored Kennedy.
Here is my take: Hillary Clinton represents the worst of the Democratic contenders.  She is totally committed to take all the corporate money she can get and pay whatever that eventually costs, should she become president.  She really is a hawk when it comes to the Iraq war and even voted the wrong way recently when it comes to Iran.  She is incredibly dishonest and phony.  The reason why there are millions of Hillary haters is that she inspires distrust.  A Hillary presidency would pursue corporate globalization and the terrible trade policies of her husband that has done so much to destroy America’s middle class.  Her views on universal health coverage do not seem focused on getting rid of all the insurance industry involvement.
Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary just shows how the status quo political establishment can rig the system to get what it wants.  What has Bobby been promised?  Head of the US EPA?  Support for replacing Hillary in the Senate?  Who knows?  But his endorsement stinks and puts a big blemish on his credibility and reputation.

Kennedy still needs to do time for leaving Mary Jo Kopechne to DIE...saving himself, going home, having a drink and going to sleep as if nothing was wrong. Lib for a Lib? Libs ARE delusional...ALL OF THEM!

Wrong Kennedy, BTB.  Senator Edward (Ted) Kennedy is the one who should have gone to jail.  RFK, Jr. is the son of Robert Kennedy who was also murdered not long after John F. Kennedy.  RFK, Jr is a U.S. Congressman and about a year ago put a stop to a windmill farm near the family compound because he did not want to listen to the noise.

You might find a story about it somewhere on the net titled "Not in my back yard".

Superdelegates Worried About Hillary

Sunday, December 2, 2007 11:21 AM

WASHINGTON -- New Hampshire and Iowa will have to wait.

The nation's first presidential primary, for Democrats anyway, is being waged among hundreds of party insiders _ superdelegates who could play a big part in selecting the nominee at next summer's national convention.

So far, most of them still haven't been sold on any of the candidates.

The Associated Press contacted 90 percent of the 765 superdelegates, mostly elected officials and other party officers, who are free to support anyone they choose at the convention, regardless of what happens in the primaries.

Hillary Rodham Clinton leads Barack Obama by more than a 2-1 margin among those who have endorsed a candidate. But a little more than half of those contacted _ 365 _ said they haven't settled on a Democratic standard bearer.

"The fact that under half have publicly committed shows me how open the Democratic race still is," said Jenny Backus, a Democratic consultant who is not affiliated with any campaign. "It's a sign that the race isn't totally done in many people's minds."

Clinton has the endorsement of 169 superdelegates. She is followed by Obama, 63; John Edwards, 34; Bill Richardson, 25; Chris Dodd, 17; Joe Biden, 8, and Dennis Kucinich, 2.

Superdelegates tend to support the front-runner, said David Rohde, a political scientist at Duke University. "They want to be on the winning side," he said.

So why don't more of them back Clinton, who leads in national polls?

"They are still concerned about her ability to win the general election," Rohde said.

No it isn't and I'd advise against taking driving lessons, flying lessons, ski lessons, swimming lessons or even drinking lessons from them.  And I am saying the good part about them.

Sorry gerald..you are right- but that's how much emotion is evoked when I even hear the name "Kennedy"...

I get this horrible mental pic of Ted in his boxers at the Palm Beach estate when his nephew William Kennedy Smith was accused of raping a girl (or rather taking extreme advantage of the inebriated girl)....

The whole family THINK they are above the law....that really ticks me off...especially every time I think about Mary Jo Kopechne and how Ted left her in that car and went home, had a drink and went to bed as if NOTHING happened.

And RFK sounds like he is trying to "buddy up" to conservatives...EVERYONE hates Hillary- even her own fellow libs. The woman is an abomination and a pathological liar. That's really kind of sad....how can she live with herself unless she has absolutely no moral compass? You actually have to pity someone who feels the need to lie as much as she does.  She is a horrible example for her daughter. I really, truly feel sorry for Chelsea Clinton....LOOK at her role models! YIKES!

LOL...I can't stand a liberal or even someone who backs a liberal. I know one thing, I wouldn't hurt one though. I was going to post this on Mud's post. Wow, do we have another one on here? Heheheh:

Congress is back in session this week and they will be greeted
by a full-scale media effort in support of Ted Kennedy's hate
crimes initiative.  The media has already started trumpeting an
FBI report allegedly showing that hate crimes are on the rise,
and now New York City is suddenly reporting a 25 percent rise
in such offenses.

Major papers like the Christian Science Monitor are featuring
op-eds pushing for hate crimes legislation under headlines
like, "We Must Not Tolerate Hate Crimes."

Of course, the media fails to mention the chilling effect
Kennedy's bill would have on the rights of anyone who doesn't
support the radical pro-homosexual agenda!

All this comes "coincidentally" as Congress takes up this
amendment -- most likely this week or next.

Last week, I asked for friends of Liberty Counsel to step
forward and schedule faxes to key Congressional leaders.
We still need friends like you to help meet our goal of at
least 50 faxes to Conference Committee members every day
this week and next week.

Please go here to send your faxes:

I should think that all crime commited by illegal aliens is hate crime.  That should keep crimebusters busy until the end of the century.

I hate crime, do you?

You may be right Firewing, esp., since John the Baptist did say to the Pharisees, "You brood of vipers...", even so, millions of voters did vote them into office. So, do the persons here on FS know more than those that voted them into office, or do we at least try to live up to a higher standard, which I believe Christ emphatically pointed out to us.
