That's another pro-illegal alien sympathizer leaving the Senate.  I may be way off base here but I truely believe that these guys have seen the handwriting on the wall and know they aren't going to be re-elected after they supported anmesty.  I think they would rather leave on their own than to be defeated at the polls.  They can give any reason they want but I think they are trying to save face.  But as I say I may be way off base.

In lotts case I think your right on target, there has been growing resentment against lott for quite some time. I doesn't really mattter as long as he leaves, we here in Mississippi need to get rid of our yes man (lott) and get someone in the senate with some back bone. the question now is who Barbor(governer) will appoint to serve untill the special election.

We need to pray that someone like Jeff Sessions or David Vitter gets appointed and then elected.

CNN just had a replay of Lott standing on the Senate floor during the immigration bill debate saying "What are we?  Mice or men."  After he made that statement I e-mailed him and told him they were neither.  That they were a bunch of rats trying to force amnesty down our throats.

Hope he doesn't end up on K Street. Seems the rats jump right before some litigation comes their way. We'll see.

Remember folks he was 100% against you and I the peons on the immigration issue. Remember he is a big and powerful Senator. Good riddance and don't let the door hit you in the butt.

Seems I recall a comment he made when we were faxing and calling about defeating amnesty - something like "how dare these people think they can intimidate a U.S. Senator"!  ADIOS!!

TEXAN...NO - I WON'T FORGET THE ALAMO! "Where's the Fence???" RINO huntin' season started January 10th (but ended January 22nd)! FRED has left the building!!!! MITT has entered my world! Oops, MITT left my world too soon also (on February 7th)! Dang, can't catch a break -- but Hillary, Obama, and McCain aren't it either (nor Huckabee, Paul, Keyes, Nader, ad nauseum)!

at the time he said that there was a protest outside his Jackson,Ms office. Over 80% of the people in Mississippi were against the amnesty but he still voted for it anyway while our other senator listened to reason and voted against the bill. his leaving is the best news this state could have gotten for Christmas

He is getting out before the new lobby rules go into effect on Jan 1. That way he can start lobbying for the illegals on jan 1-2009 and not have to wait until 2010.
