Here's my 2¢ to President Bush... For what it's worth...
November 21, 2007
President George W. Bush 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington DC 20500
Dear President Bush,
I urge you to issue a full and unconditional pardon for United States Border Agents Ramos and Campeon regarding offenses for which they have been convicted as they sought to enforce federal laws regarding illegal immigration and border trespass. As the facts of this matter become known by the American public, it is increasingly apparent that a huge injustice has occurred with regard to the prosecution and sentencing of these Border Patrol Agents as they sought to carry out their duties to protect our borders from those who wish us harm. Personal agendas and personal associations appear to have played a major role in both the initiation and pursuit of charges against these individuals as they sought to enforce our immigration laws. Recent news reports indicate that a key witness against these agents – a now-indicted drug smuggler – was given extraordinary cross-border access to the United States as he allegedly transported illegal contraband even as he testified against Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean in a court in the United States.
Your Administration has pursued a variety of political agendas in prosecuting these Border Patrol Agents, while ignoring the real issue of out-of-control illegal immigration. You need to demonstrate to the American people that you stand with us against the incursion across our borders of undocumented nationals, even as we fight the scourge of Islamofascism on foreign soil. The two challenges are inextricably tied together and cannot continue to be ignored. To do so would be figuratively “fiddling while Rome burns...” Federal Attorney Johnny Sutton has pursued the prosecution of Agents Ramos and Compean with extraordinary zeal, even as he manipulated the Justice system to hide exculpatory evidence from the jury charged to hear the case. Looking back, it is apparent that several layers of governmental bureaucracy have conspired to fabricate evidence against these Agents in an effort to successfully prosecute them. The treatment they’ve received from the justice system to date has been a nonstop study in abuse of prosecutorial power and a case study of governmental bureaucracy gone bad. I urge you to research the controversial facts of this case. Once you’ve done so, I’m certain that you’ll arrive at the same conclusion that I – and millions of Americans – have arrived at: that a travesty has occurred and must be corrected through the use of your executive authority to pardon the individuals involved.
You have the opportunity to redress some of the wrongs visited upon these courageous Border Patrol Agents by issuing a complete and unconditional pardon for them. I continue to press my Congressional Representatives to investigate the U.S. Attorney(s) involved, as well as their motivations and methods they used in prosecuting Agents Ramos and Compean. With or without a pardon, Agents Ramos and Compean – and the American public – deserve that the truth of the matter come to light for the sake of the rule of law. Their continued incarceration is intolerable. Please issue an unqualified pardon as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Daniel R. Bogdan

However, in the opinion of the "Decider", it appears our views aren't worth much.
We don't need new "comprehensive" immigration laws. We need widespread, well funded enforcement of existing immigration law, i. e. IRCA 1986. http://www.oig.lsc.gov/legis/irca86.htm ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST A BIG CHARADE! Remember the Alamo AND Agents Compean, Ramos, Brugman, Sipe, Rhodes, Deputy Sheriff Hernandez, K-9 Officer Mohr & Noe Aleman. ***Redress it all by repealing the 17th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution: http://www.articlev.com/repeal_the_17...
