Wish us luck as we host our first on-campus debate. The "Tan Klan" is expected to be there in full force opposing free speech. I will have video and photos of the event for you tomorrow. One of our members was able to get into a campus La Raza meeting and pulled the following comments from it (see below) Operation: Generation! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket What our "mole" found.... Campus Coalition Against Hate (CCAH) What: The coalition will have a show of unity and a rejection of hate on November 13, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We will also hold a press conference at a time to be determined in our Monday (11/12) meeting at 10:00 a.m. in LA5-163. Where: North Side of the University Student Union Points of consensus reached at the coalition's meeting on 11/9/2007 1. The broad multiracial coalition of faculty, students, staff, at CSULB chose to name itself the Campus Coalition Against Hate, to indicate its concern with the impact and symbolism of Minuteman Founder Jim Gilchrist's visit to our campus. Norma Chinchilla, Chair of the Sociology Department and Armando Vazquez Ramos will be co-master of ceremonies. 2. We will stage a peaceful, but militant protest with speakers, music and performers on the steps of the north side of the USU. We will have a public address system so that a diversity of speakers affirm our unity and share information about immigration and the underlying agenda of the organizations Mr. Gilchrist supports. We will develop peacemaking measures to so we can reduce the likelihood of any disruptive behavior that might help Mr. Gilchrist's political and fund-raising objectives. We will urge the campus community to boycott the event in the auditorium but we will respect the right of every individual to attend the "debate." 2. The coalition, supported La Raza Student Association's suggestion that red armbands be worn on November 13 affirming the unity of all the ethnic communities at CSULB. This red band will also affirm that there are no "illegal" human beings in this country, just human beings. Every person in the United States, with documents or without them, is protected by the constitution of the United States and has the right to due process. Also, the red band will symbolize our rejection of the dehumanizing and stigmatizing actions and speech of vigilante anti-immigrant groups like those supporting Mr. Jim Gilchrist. They hide behind a legal facade but they incite, attack and coerce immigrants and those who support human rights for immigrants. 3. We also agreed that we will not be provoked by agent provocateurs who will pretend to be on our side but who could incite a non-reasoned response to the visit of Mr. Gilchrist. Our objective is to show how a diverse community can work together and succeed. A peacemaking committee will be formed and trained to reduce the chances of any act of disruption. We will also meet with the university administrators and the campus police on Tuesday morning to coordinate security for all participants in the protest event. 4. We will be providing educational resources about immigration, hate groups like American Patrol, SOS, and the minutemen. 5. We also ask supporters to bring posters supporting immigrant human rights, denouncing the visit and anti-immigrant message of Jim Gilchrist. We also ask participants to wear a sign which identifies your support for the campus coalition with a message like: "I am also and immigrant from _________." This will highlight the history of who we are as a nation, a nation of immigrants. We also will have posters with cartoons that depict how nativism and xenophobia are part of the nation's history and our need to remember who we really are. 6. We will develop a press release and "talking points" for a press conference in our next meeting on Monday, November 12 from 10:00 a.m. through noon. Groups will continue working on posters and visuals for the event. 7. The speakers will include faculty from various departments, students, staff and representatives from various student organizations on the campus. We invite you to recruit participants and that you contact us if you are willing and able to provide music, spoken word, perform etc. We want to be creative but we ask that you coordinate with the coalition. 8. On Tuesday morning, before the press conference we will meet with university authorities, including the campus police, to coordinate. The administration has authorized us to use a public address system, we still will request that people entering the auditorium be searched. We are aware of how problematic this is but the coalition believed it would be a reasonable security measure given the history of Mr. Gilchrist's "media events." 9. "I am also and immigrant from _________."   I think it should be "an" not "and", but shouldn't it also have a check box to indicate legal or ILLEGAL?
Oh NO you don't!

American's are getting there but are not yet mad enough in enough cities of the country to get huge numbers out marching and demonstrating.

La Raza gets away with this because they pull numbers in to march and protest.

If when La Raza showed up there were 50,000 Americans asking them to go home - this would stop immediately.

In fact if that started happening the Diane Feinsteins and the Harry Reid's would no longer be in office.  I hope America "wakes up" soon!  Once the illegals take over 50% of the population then we are gone.

Like I said before, I would not have a job if I took a day off to protest.  Most of these people have their employers under their thumbs.  Or they work under the table.  My last employer would allow his cooks and dishwashers and bussers to leave the country (go to mexico) for 3-4 months at a time.  They're job would be there when they returned.  I had to go through hell just to get a 4 day weekend off.   Who is slave labor now ????????

Don't you just love the extremely biased tone and wording of this announcement?  The best one is their reasoning for the security measures:

We are aware of how problematic this is but the coalition believed it would be a reasonable security measure given the history of Mr. Gilchrist's "media events."

In other words, all the problems are the result of Mr. Gilchrist and people who believe like he does, not the hordes of ignorant illegal alien invaders.

If the students truly want to learn the truth, they will listen with an open mind, but it appears the brainwashing is already in place.  I hope the debate will be open and fair, but it doesn't appear to be starting out that way.

Once again they failed to make the distinction between immigrant and illegal alien.  Most of us are immigrants but we are here legally.

Do you notice how many times they stressed that they must remain peaceful?  NOT going to happen.  They don't know the meaning of the word civil.  They will start getting out of hand and hopefully that will work in Gil's favor.

I heard on the news this morning that Spanish classes will be mandatory for elementary school children somewhere in Texas but did not catch the name of the area. I am sure they will do away with math classes to teach them how to speak spanish. Birth control, condoms, and spanish getting these kids ready for introduction into the spanish culture, I guess they will have to wait until Junior high to learn about booze and stealing.

Why is this the first I've heard of this:

I would have liked at least a week to prepare for this one (in my back yard)

I know that I don't check every site or blog and don't have the time to serch every nook and crany.

Why are there no patriots at these things distributing the real information, is there no one willing to put out the effort.  Or do we expect the speakers in the debate to spead the word amoung the "La Raza" group.

We know that pro-illegal immigration groups spread their ideology thrue lies and miss-information, if we can show the people who support them that they are being lied to, or even get them to doubt the info they are given we start to turn the tide.

I don't like to think that all of the so called patriots, don't have enough dedication and conviction to organize and start fighting fire with fire.  Maybe its not that important to them???

I guess those of us who do, have to do more, to make up for those of you who do nothing.

OK - just got an email from CFIR, and they included this link.  This activist says the Minutemen are not the enemy - but listen to what else he says within OUR borders!  Disgusting - but people better wake up - this is what we are facing!

Hey Savage4prez

They will use words like bigots, racist and intolerant as bullets to intimidate.

Remind them----history is replete with those tactics being used by communist regimes---and that we are a free America with no room for the speech and thought police.

A little rumbling going on here on this coast---I am going for my first march---and  I am no longer expecting 10,000 to show up---you were right—that was delusional.  I do however  have my pepper spray.

Good luck to us all.

Tarkus;  You need to understand that these protests are held when the average middle class person is working (if they're lucky enough to still have a job) to try to make a living.  This is all planned so that the anti illegal alien sector cannot be present.  Believe me there is a lot of thought that goes into these things to make it to the advantage of the proillegal alien groups.  It is not that nobody wants to be there to hand out fliers or whatever.  It's that they can't.

Blaze 77535;  My granddaughter, a 7th. grader, is required to take Spanish.  It used to be that you took a foreign language of your choice if you were going to college.  Not anymore.  You don't have a choice.  It has to be Spanish.  This really gripes me.  Yet our government tries to act as if Mexico isn't the problem.

Blaze--I didn't know they practiced birth control?!?  All the Mexicans and Guatemalans that I see carry at least 4 kids with them.  White people cannot out-breed them---but maybe we should start trying.
