This is our worst counter-intelligence nightmare to date. A Lebanese national comes to the U.S. under a student visa, illegally commits marriage fraud to become a U.S. citizen, gets into the FBI as a language specialist and then becomes a CIA operative, while crashing our counter-intelligence data base to keep tabs on relatives involved with Hizbollah fund raising and money laundering in the U.S. The government finally caught up with Nada Nadim Prouty, a 37-year-old Lebanese native and relative of a suspected fugitive Hizbollah money launderer. Former White House counter terrorism chief, Richard Clarke rightfully calls it ‘mind blowing’.
We call it an example of how the FBI and CIA have been in chaos and obsessively politically correct about hiring Arab Muslims to function in critical language translation capacities and, in this case, covert operations.
This is an illustration of how far Hizbollah sleeper cells have penetrated the American Intelligence community here in the U.S.
At the core of this story is the infamous La Shish Detroit area restaurant owner, Talil Khalil Chahine, a fugitive, who fled to Lebanon, accused of money laundering for Hizbollah.
This is an example of why ACT should write to the heads of Congressional Homeland security and Intelligence Committees in the House and Senate expressing outrage about the lapse in security that continues to be a clear and present danger. Brigitte Gabriel and I know this first hand from having discussed the parlous state of our nation’s counter terrorism with federal law enforcement agents involved with these functions. When asked what our opinions were about the status of such efforts by federal agencies, we said, candidly, that they were completely ineffective. The Prouty case is just the latest and most chilling example.
