I am a volunteer member with the Patriot Union of America. They recently put out a detailed series of educational lobbying efforts with Congress, among them, requesting a comprehensive GAO study on the impacts of creating an "amnesty" for an estimated 20 million illegal aliens (and their 80 million eligible family members that would also be allowed to come).
This article (below) gives some amazing insight and I personally believe every US citizen should be required to read it. It will scare the hell out of you - illegal immigration / amnesty impacts are so powerful that Congress refuses to order the GAO study time and again - poltical atom bomb!
If you can, I recommend that you check out the PUA and maybe get involved like I did. They are working toward fixing a lot of the things most of us are just bitching about. I said screw it... I want this government fixed - let's clean house... whatever... so I give them 8 hours a weekend and I finally feel like we have a chance to fight these anti-American groups for a change! I've seen them start from scratch and actually change the minds of many people in Congress - these guys are really good at what they do!
Sorry for the longwinded... Here is the link for anyone interested:
"Clean house" those are the magic words and I could not agree more. If our Representatives were too dumb to see what was coming down the pipes, then they are too dumb to be Representatives---However, I believe about 72% freely donated their duplicity.
Some of these stats were mentioned on the Glenn Beck program. Dr. Corsi was on that night and they both agreed it appeared as if this Administration was deliberately driving down the dollar.
Now what could place approx. 535 of our Representative government on the same page and quietly marching in the direction to destroy America is a mystery to me.
A ticking nine trillion dollar debt --------77 million newly retiring boomers-- ---- 20 million illegal criminal invaders here in our country and being cared for entirely by taxpayer’s dollars------- China now with a sword to hold over our heads—All of this adds to a recipe for disaster.
We havea year to find anti-amnestyindividuals to run against this bunch of weasels who are presently on Capitol Hill.We need good pro-American individuals to run for office.
If you think that we are not ALREADY bankrupt, you are living in a dream world. The United States has become the world's greatest debtor nation. The US$ is headed for .70 on the index of world currencies. Just before Bernanke's recent interest rate reductions it was at .80, and falling.
Protect yourself. Buying a wheelbarrow for the the money you'll need to buy a loaf of bread is NOT protection.
We don't need new "comprehensive" immigration laws. We need widespread, well funded enforcement of existing immigration law, i. e. IRCA 1986. http://www.oig.lsc.gov/legis/irca86.htm ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST A BIG CHARADE! Remember the Alamo AND Agents Compean, Ramos, Brugman, Sipe, Rhodes, Deputy Sheriff Hernandez, K-9 Officer Mohr & Noe Aleman. ***Redress it all by repealing the 17th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution: http://www.articlev.com/repeal_the_17...
I'd love to post whatever you'd like on "Breaking News" whereever that is, but alas I am new here and unfamilair with how to achieve that. Hints welcomed.
By the way, this (1,2,3 below) refers to the top three (of scores of) benefits of BTAI - Bonn Temporary Amnesty Initiative (www.patriotunion.org/reform.htm), which is a very clever way of being humane (so the masses accept the plan) yet highly cost effective with removing illegal aliens from US soil permanently and quickly toward restoring domestic security. The PUA has some members of Congress interested in this already but it needs a lot more help from the grassroots sector to pressure the rest of Congress into supporting it. they have a petition on the Web site (you'll see the links).
Removes 92% of illegal aliens from US soil within 16 months or less (without need to "round up" anyone).
Secures US borders within 6 months or less (with 99% integrity).
Makes US soil 1000% safer from domestic terrorism within 3 years (safeguarding America's children).

AMEN TO THIS ONE! And I don't think anyone has mentioned the fact that El President Jorge Bush's Medicare Prescription Drug Plan has an unfunded liability in the trillions (that's with a "T".)
During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. ~ George Orwell
You're somewhat right. We are already in deep financial trouble in this country. Bush nearly doubled the national debt since taking office 7 years ago.
You will know when the country is officially bankrupt---that will be the day that international traders not only refuse to buy US dollars, but dump them for pennies on the dollar (when our debt creeps up near $15-$20 trillion or so). When the dumping starts, no power on earth will stop it and the Depression of the 30s will look like a day at Disneyland!
I speak to this point only because our idiot Congress keeps trying to make an amnesty and keeps refusing to look at how that will impact our national debt. The PUA says amnesty bankrupts us (for real) within 10 years or less, and I say who the hell are these criminal foreigners that we would risk destroying the lives of all Americans to make them citizens? It's insane!!!
I say vote every encumbant out of office and let's start fresh--clean house of all the corruption and pandering to foreigners!
Roco; I can't agree with you about all incumbants. Most yes, but we need the likes of Senator Jeff Sessions from Alabama because without him I truly believe the McCain-Kennedy bill would have passed.
I used a blanket concept - true - and there are a many good Congress persons, like Sessions and Bilbray and Tancredo and others - equally true - but I stick to the general concept that most of the top ranking members of Congress - the top one-third of the entire leadership - have become obviously too corrupted and too elitist and they must be cleared out.
What happens is that most Americans want change, but when it comes to clearing out their own representatives, they say - oh, mine is the exception - and in the end nothing substancial changes (CNN reported on this fact several months ago).
How do we list those who need to go versus those who should stay because they represent American values and ideals and stand up for them? How do we weed out all the corrupt, transnational or corporate of foreign pandering people in Congress from the good ones - it could take decades and we don;t have that luxury of time. Our country is falling now, in my viewpoint.
I say clear out the entire Congress, send a clear and unified message, and start fresh and then bring back people like Sessions, Bilbray, and Tancredo and few of the others who stick up for Americans and their families after they sit out a term. Just vote out every encumbant until we have nothing but freshmen and fresh ideas.
Remember, the senior members in Congress are the ones that recruit and corrupt the freshmen, as does the major party leadership. If we clean house, that process gets disrupted - hopefully beyond repair!
Well that's my bright idea anyway... I really don't see another answer that gets us our government back and takes it away from these elitists. And I do see your point too... it's all very frustrating!

I like teh idea but I have NEVER voted for any of "my" representatives here on the Left Coast yet they get reelected over and over again. What can I do?
There is no way I would vote to re-elect my senators, one a Democrat and one a Republican, or my Representative. However, I know there are some good ones out there of both parties. All you need to do is check their report cards.
Great video! This is what and why the PUA fighting Congress so hard on illegal immigration, among other reasons.
We are making a Third World for our children right here in America. That goes against everything I was ever taught about my country.
Labrador:
You should read the articles coming out right now on the first stages of the dollar collapsing internationally as we speak. China has said they are going to start shifting their US dollar holdings ($1.4 trillion) to European markets that offer higher interest rates. Economist say the dollar is being hit because oil is spiking too high, forcing 8-10% inflation across the board, and that, in turn, is killing consumer spending, which is killing jobs.
In the meantime... we have 20 million illegal aliens taking up our jobs---many high paying! What a boost to our economy if they all left tomorrow and those jobs opened up!!!
Here is a problem we have: Apathy and or disbelief. I have had the opportunity to find out some reasons for apathy among Americans that could be the ultimate undoing of America. I will cite my family and friends--most of them are upper middle class--I mean UPPER-. I am retired I live in a middle class neighborhood. Most agree that illegal immigration is damaging America--but here's the rub--thesse people I ma talking about all live in neighborhoods with price ranges that 60-65% of Americans cannot afford. Most of them have insurance plans that allow them to set appointments to see doctors and dentists without sitting in the waiting rooms of our hospitals to see how bad it is. Some of them attend schools that have minimum or no children of illegals that cannot speak English. They will never truly realize the danger until it bites them on the butt and then it will be too late. Three of my friends ( 2 females, 1 male) say "Oh the poor kids need to be in our schools, they need the health care." Bleeding hearts who have insurance and live in places that are little or minimally impacted. I am finding that a number of people of my age group (60s-70s) are getting up in arms and angry over it. I will wager that everyone who reads this has a friend(s) or relative(s) who do not have a clue as to how bad it is and how bad it is rapidly getting. I have one friend who hires and does not check to see if they are legally here. He feels since he only does it two days a month that he causes no harm. RIGHT!
What I am seeing now is even the people like FS members (myself included in this group) now realize that it is a globalist plot and many of our elected officials and military personnel are supporting it. What chance will you or I have when the might of the National Guard or the Army is turned against us.
I have made my decision--I would rather die fighting for the America our forefathers created for us than live in a damned globalist,( Bush, Fox, Calderone, Harper, Kissinger (a snake if there ever was one), and on and on including many Senators and Representatives) world . I really mean it. I suppose I could close my eyes and go to my little log cabin in the Alabama farm country---but it has started over there already.
Please, if there is a March For America in a city near you on November 17th, show America how much you love her. Show our politicians we will not roll over and play dead. We are the militia of America, even though we have not joined a formal group--yet! The actions and results of the Congress over the next few months will determine where our road lies.
Thanks! True patriotism seems a very rare thing these days. In fact, it's one the biggest complaints over at the PUA---nobody takes the time to understand their country, where it came from, what it's been figthing for all these decades, or why it's worth figthing for here at home.
God bless our troops in the MiddleEast, but "misterbill" I think you hit the nail on the head about apathy here at home. I think the vast majority of Americans are living in an isulated fantasy world and have no clue of the larger story.
A recent PUA article on the North American Union and our Congress's involvement in aiding it sets out some facts that support your one-world-takeover thoughts. If you think about it - if I wanted to take down America - I would never come at her head on in a military fight, but rather, I would infiltrate her government with my sympathizers - do it slowly over time so nobody would notice until it was too late - never need to fire a shot.
I am like you... that's why I give 8 hours a week volunteer service to the PUA. That's my way of fighting back - strength in numbers - that sort of thing. I hope others join us in the fight because America has a lot of enemies right now - many in foreign lands - and many right here at home!

You perhaps did speak briefly about the major problem that makes the illegal immigration problem intractible. It is precisely the people in the upper reaches of the economic ladder. They are the ones who own businesses, or are managers making 6 figure incomes.
It is most interesting that many people who speak of this issue don't wish to acknowledge what is right under their nose. The ones who need to be on their way to prison are possibly those within your family who hire illegal aliens, or perhaps your friends and neighbors who do. Some of us have turned up the heat on friends and neighbors who do this and have gotten positive results by changing their attitudes on hiring illegal aliens. You should do the same, even at the risk of becoming an outcast. That can be a very difficult change to make in one's relationship with those we know, but if you are really sincere about helping the country with this problem that is where it has to start. Pointing to politicians all the time, and not acknowledging your friends and relatives are funding their upper middle class lifestyle with illegal alien labor is more than just hypocritical, it probably represents a large proportion of the illegal alien problem.
It is not really necessary "to die" to solve this problem. It is much more effective to go after those we know are creating it to see first if we can get them to put a stop to it. They may have the urge to kill you in the process, but the future alternatives for all of us are much worse.

"perhaps"? No damned perhaps about it---"Briefly"? The bulk of the post was about it.
I am happy to say none within my family hire illegal aliens--the message I failed to get across (I thought I had) was that my children are all conservatives. They are all strongly opposed to illegal immigration and the possibility of an NAU--the point I was trying to get across was APATHY--they, just like the large majority of Americans do nothing about it in spite of their opposition. They are shielded from it because of what I entered in the previous post.
"You should do the same, even at the risk of becoming an outcast."
What did I post above that makes you feel I haven't. I am sorry , but I am dismayed at my lack of writing skills that I misrepresented my views so badly.
"but if you are really sincere about helping the country with this problem that is where it has to start"
That statement is too insulting for me to do more than enter it here.
"Pointing to politicians all the time, and not acknowledging your friends and relatives are funding their upper middle class lifestyle with illegal alien labor is more than just hypocritical, it probably represents a large proportion of the illegal alien problem.".
The whole purpose of my post was exactly what you are saying--nowhere did I point at politicians and say that. I detest ad hominem attacks in posts but I must say you come across as the most insulting and obtuse person I have encountered on this site. I repeat--I posted the whole damned thing to express that apathetic people were one of the main problems we face. You chose to twist it and talk down to me.
"It is not really necessary "to die" to solve this problem. It is much more effective to go after those we know are creating it to see first if we can get them to put a stop to it. They may have the urge to kill you in the process, but the future alternatives for all of us are much worse."
Great preach to the choir--but if in the final analysis you have drawn a line in the sand that says you will do a lot but not be willing to die for it--then you haven't one damned right to talk down to me. You may be one of the apathetic ones.
Lastly,
I am scheduled to march in a rally on November 17th. I expect I will be joined by two other FS posters. Pleasse do not communicate with me again. I do not appreciate your attitude.
