I don't know what's going on, but Kay Bailey is saying on the Senate floor that the Dream Act is NOT part of the immigration issue. She wants a "compromise" and is talking about, yes, giving a "compassionate" amnesty to illegals in her version of a Dream Act. Lying old sow.

She was hanging out with Durbin on the floor before it began debate. She really bothers me.

She has come out and said she will leave her Senate seat and run for governor in TX - hope TX doesn't fall for her again.

Yes, I saw that article as well.  I immediately went to view her voting record regarding immigration and she voted almost every time---against American citizens and America ----and for Mexico and the Mexicans

In other words, if Rick Perry loses because he has so many who now hate him, she can fill his shoes.

NumbersUsa gives her a C+, but had they factored in a zero for not voting on Visa Lottery, Anchor Babies, and Asylum---she would have received an F minus.

I spent a lot of time compiling a post to show that had Republicans cast a vote on Anchor Babies, Visa Lotteries, and Asylum, we would not be facing some of the problems we now have.   The cowards chose not to vote---Remember that in 2008.

Find some one to run against them.   Get the local barber, dogsitter whatever.  Just run them as an  "against immigration" candidate and they can win.

By the way Paul55---"Lying old sow" is way too kind.

Word is she ultimately voted for the dream act.  Who would make a good opponent for her if she runs for governor?  I've liked Susan Combs, but I don't know if she would run against KBH and I don't know for sure how she really stands on immigration and TTC.  She used to represent me in the state house and her big interest has always been agriculture.  She has always been very loyal to the republican party, which isn't necessarily a good thing, these days.  Any other good choices from around the state?

I just read your profile---you could run.   If you were here in GA, you could just hang a sign on your back stating you are: AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND AMNESTY--and you could win.  Your only cost would be the sign and the wear and tear on your back to carry it.

Just goes to show how many of these Republicans are just going crazy waiting for the opportunity to cozy up to illegals and spit in the face of American citizens. Deep down, I'll bet 80 percent of the Senate would vote for Illegals if they weren't so afraid. I'm so sick of all the illegal alien sob stories--as if they are the only ones who matter to these plutocrats.

My son is gifted and he is in college studying engineering.  Does HE get out-of-state tuition breaks? NO, he doesn't.  This is just SO unfair!  But I have to point out, it's no where near the moral chasm we are falling into with tax-payer funded health care for illegals, which is also unfair.  Can MY children or grandchildren receive hospital care and have it written off by the taxpayers?  NO, my daughter had to go bankrupt because she couldn't pay the hospital bills for my disabled granddaughter.  Either everybody gets the same breaks or nobody gets the breaks at all.  Where's the justice for citizens?  The way things are headed, citizenship means NOTHING.

Kay Bailey is toast in Texas.

Susan Combs is a lightweight.   We don't need a woman anyway.   Have a look at the ones we've got:   Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Dian Finestein, those two ditzes who represent Maine, crooked Landreau of LA and the real idiot herself....Hillary.  And, yes, I'm politically incorrect and intend to be the rest of my life!   It's called intelligent and thoughtful discrimination.  Deliver me from the situation where women call the shots during wartime.

Kay Bailey PERRY can forget about Governor or any other office in Texas.  As Suzi said she is toast in Texas

This is the letter I wrote Hutchison just after the vote today.

---------------------------

Dear Senator Hutchison:

It would probably be best that you don't run for governor of Texas next time around. I'm sorry to say that you don't have much of a chance of winning due to your flip-flopping on illegal immigration issues.
I liken you to Governor Perry who during his last campaign made promise after promise to fix the illegal immigration problem in our state then after having won office did a complete turnaround and insulted those of us who voted for him based on those promises.
Senator Hutchison, Texans are frustrated beyond words at the actions of you and Governor Perry and have vowed to vote against anyone who would see our state ruined further.  Illegal  aliens do not belong in our country...period.  What is it about Congress that they don't listen to the citizens of our country and see that the percentage of people who agree with me is a great number, far greater than the pro-amnesty crowd.  Look at any poll that asks a question about illegal immigration and you'll see that the scales are tipped drastically in our favor, against illegal immigration.
It seems that Congress doesn't understand that illegal immigration is THE big issue in the presidential race, more so than the liberal media would have you believe.  This trickles down to those running for Congressional seats.  Does Congress not get it?  As an American citizen, it seems to me that Congress is more interested in protecting illegal aliens than United States citizens.  Congress’s approval rating screams failure in serving its citizens. This is why those of us who have been following very closely the actions of Congress have long memories and will vote any incumbents who are pro-amnesty out.
Take care in your retirement.
Respectfully,

Hey Suzi,

Don't be too harsh on women. Senator McCaskill of Missouri is a dem but she has voted against amnesty each time, I was worried about her at first but so far she has performed admirably.

Suzi,

Unfortunately, real men in politics around Austin are as scarce as snowflakes in July.

That is so sad, many of us find ourselves in a crisis due to medical care or lack of, knowing that the only option open to us is to lose our houses and file BK while the illegal in the hospital bed next to us walks out free and clear..and our elected officials, the ones sent to represent US, ignore their consitutents to favor the sob stories of illegals..

Frankly, for every bad woman elected official you point out above, the rest of us can point out equally bad, if not worse men, ie bush, cheney, reid, kennedy, durbin, santorum, mccain, kyl, spitzer, perry and the list goes on and on and on...idiots know no sexual boundries, they come in both sexes!!  And, we have about 450 of them in Wash DC right now and in assorted state gov'ts!!  And as far as women calling the shots during wartime, geee, georgie porgie and chicken little cheney have done SUCH a GOOD job so far, haven't they---NOT!!!!

As soon as I saw that Ms. Hutchison voted for cloture today, I too sent her my ever so humble opinion that she should reconsider running for Texas governor. Her office must have been deluged with similar responses, because she now has the following "news" release on her website:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 24, 2007
CONTACT: Matt Mackowiak

Sen. Hutchison Releases Statement on the DREAM Act

WASHINGTON -- Texas’ senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today released the following statement on her vote to invoke cloture on the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act:

“I support the goal of encouraging college education for children whose parents brought them into America illegally, but it is unfair to reward the children of undocumented workers and favor them over the children of legal residents. Today I voted to bring this issue to the floor of the Senate for debate, with the commitment that there is still the opportunity to change the Durbin bill and gain bipartisan consensus.
“Though the motion to proceed failed, I will continue to work for fair and comprehensive border security and immigration reform.”

Anyone buying this "snake oil"???

KEEP IT UP TEXAS!!!

Border security is not a matter of being "fair" or "comprehensive" - we control the border or we don't!  STILL don't need no stinkin' immigration reform - ENFORCE THE DA*N EXISTING LAWS!  And no, I don't need any more snake oil!
