While this may be an "Urban Legend", http://www.designscomputed.com/ is in direct violation of the U. S. Constitution, as follows:

"To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;"

The punishment, as spelled out in the Coinage Act, can be found within the following:

http://www.safehaven.com/article-5903.htm#_note2

At one point possession of the actual text of this act was stored, but has been lost.  An attempt to download it from a U. S. Government website met with a dead link (????).

We don't need new "comprehensive" immigration laws. We need widespread, well funded enforcement of existing immigration law, i. e. IRCA 1986. http://www.oig.lsc.gov/legis/irca86.htm ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST A BIG CHARADE! The video of the Amero per Hal Turner.... http://www.halturnershow.com/The-Amer...

I have no idea whether it is a novelty coin or not. Hal Turner claims it is real at http://www.halturnershow.com/AmeroCoi...

----

Whether or not the Amero described on Hal Turner is real or not is really not what we should be concerned about. It could be the smoke of a smouldering fire.

What I mean is we do need to keep informed and keep a focused watch on this issue because it stands to reason we can't have a North American Union without a common currency. And we know there is plenty of evidence that the Bush admimistration and Mexico are working toward this as hard as they can.

( Evidence: the NAFTA Highway, Mexican Truck allowed in the country, no border control, Amnesty programs, etc etc.)

There is a CNBC video with Steve Previs of Jeffries International who says he Amero is real. See this video on U Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hiPrs...

and there is a Lou Dobbs report on CNN also mentions the Amero at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H65f3q...

Anytime smear campaigns start, you know someone has drawn blood.

Seriously, why you think a common currency for a North American Union is a non-issue.

That may be so, EE, but this is NOT a coin being passed off as valid currency from US mint, or valid currency usable to pay any debt public or private in this country, etc.  It doesn't even say United States of America on it!  It's no more "coined money" than the collector coins out a few years ago supposedly made from silver found in the vaults at ground zero.  It's not valid US currency.  It's a collectors item and that's all.

There is no North American Union, the "amero" is a collector's item only.  It's not a preview of things to come.  Surely there are far more important issues that are REAL to worry about...not a dumb coin that some idiot on radio is passing off "as real."

The company that is selling the "novelty" Ameros is located in Denver, but NOT to be confused with the US Mint in Denver!

http://www.amerocurrency.com/support.html  (pictures included) Buy Ameros for educational purposes, as novelties and conversation starters at the first tee!!! These private-issue fantasy pattern coins will be struck as an annual series (until such time as it is no longer legal to do so), starting in August 2007. AmeroCurrency.com now offers a variety of "Union of North America" (UNA) Amero coins, sculpted in 3-D by noted coin designer Daniel Carr using a digital mechanical transfer process. Carr designed the New York and Rhode Island state quarters issued by the U.S. Mints. http://www.amerocurrency.com/  This site is intended to make United States citizens aware of the advancement of the agenda to launch the nations of North America, including the U.S., into a continental union similar to the European Union.

Some people need to pull their heads out of the sand!  If they have an Amero - there won't be a United States of America!  There will be a North American Union!  Wake up people!  I wouldn't put anything past the idiots in Washington or this administration!

NoMoreSilence, don't confuse these people with facts and truth.  Panic mode is always more suitable for some folks.

What was it you didn't understand about the publicly announced plans for the NAU? Remember "the fix is in for 2010?" We are in the U.N.'s way for establishing their New World Order. Years back in an International Finance course my classmates and I learned that, because of counterfieting and other threats to U.S. currency (like extreme devaluation) the U.S. had a new currency it could issue to replace the current U.S. dollars.

This kind of thing shouldn't be too much of a shock to any of you college folks (20 percent of our high school graduates) who took a finance course.  In fact, a lot in the policy arena shouldn't be a shock to anyone who stayed awake in their college classes.  Now if they were working off the weekend's hangover . . .

Of course, I went to a small, liberal arts college run by Francisan Friars, and I was in school to study and learn, not for drinking and wenching . . .

A currency crisis would be the perfect, and already considered, opportunity to launch a new currency.  Giving the crisis a "push" would allow for an extended solution of complete economic integration in order to support the new currency . . . like when big, regional banks spent time gobbling up small, local banks in the 80s and 90s in order to balance out their bad accounts.  Now most of the small banks are pretty much gone.  It was the 80s corporate mergers gone financial.

See, if people paid attention to this stuff as they encountered it in their jobs, rather than look through it or turn the other way to safeguard their "economic security," we wouldn't be facing this crap.  I can't tell you how many times I heard Clinton speak and I just couldn't begin to answer the things he said because they were such complete and utter lies.  Bushy-poo is worse, because at least Clinton looked like what he was to me.  Bush is a real good actor with his "clean-cut" image.

Unfortunately, the trend for cover ups, excuses and general schmoozing has put us out of touch with what has really been going on for quite a while, and has also impeded out ability to MEASURE what has been going on as well.

So we face double Jeopardy.  But we have ignored or denied things for so long, this mess is really our making.  No matter what form of govenment a country has, that countries Representatives, Aristocracy or Monarch should always have the sure sense that if governing authorities of any kind mess with the well-being of the people they govern, they will have their heads on a pike.  Leaders are given authority and responsibility, but we the people are always the ones who live with the results.  I think, to a point, that was one of many reasons the Founding Fathers instituted our Representative Democracy.  If we always pay the price, we should be able to have some say in what shots are called and be allowed to make willing sacrifices rather than unwilling ones.

Ah, is their anything like the smell of Tyranny in the air?

The internet is a wonderful tool - thanks Al Gore!  I started reading this thread, and saw where NoMoreSilence outed the real story.  I can't believe this Hal Turner guy is in business - what a kook!  The main page is like a supermarket tabloid.  I can't believe people actually listen to his show (well actually I guess the world does have strange people).  At first glance, the site is sensational, anti-semetic, and some (many) of his supporters seem certifiable!  Here's the link:

http://www.halturnershow.com/index.html

If you want to waste a little time and shake your head for some exercise, you can explore some more of our "media".  I scrolled down to the article about Harry Potter - the summary was enough - but I looked at some of the comments made by his followers, and oh brother (and sister)!

TEXAN...NO - I WON'T FORGET THE ALAMO! "Where's the Fence???" RINO huntin' season started January 10th (but ended January 22nd)! FRED has left the building!!!! MITT has entered my world! Oops, MITT left my world too soon also (on February 7th)! Dang, can't catch a break -- but Hillary, Obama, and McCain aren't it either (nor Huckabee, Paul, Keyes, Nader, ad nauseum)!

You have an answer for everything don't you Pasty?  I think personally that you ignore it because you are afraid of the facts, the writing is on the wall, why not read it?  You don't want it to be so it can't be.  Wake up and smell the flowers!  Someday you will wake up saying "I never believed this would come about" you and many people like you.    It's people that do believe it could happen that will stand in the way of it happening, not people like you....

By the way, I don't need you to tell me what to think!  Keep your fairy -tales to yourself!

No, I don't have answers for everything, LJ.  Wish I did.  But seriously, YOU need to look at the facts....the coin is a collectors item.  That's all. It's not a coin designed by the government (or any collective governments or any proposed collective governments), not minted by the government (or governmentS), and not legal tender or even proposed tender ANYWHERE!!  I'd rather focus on REAL problems, not fake issues dreamt up by an idiot on radio.  Oh, and by the way yourself....NO ONE told you what to think.  So keep your own fairy tales to yourself.  Yours is sounding very eerily similar to this:  http://www.geocities.com/mjloundy/
