I absolutely support the war in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Our Troops agree that this war must be won and are willing to serve multiple tours even those that have lost limbs. What I don't support is the "Back Dooring" of our Troops at home.

For what ever reason the President and the Progressives (Democrats) in congress and some misguided Republicans refuse to close our borders. Homeland Security has been allocated the money to build 700 miles of fence, and has taken little or no action to build this fence or increase manning mandated by the Congress and signed by the President. They have in fact reduced support at the borders by the National Guard. They all seem to be willing to let every stripe of illegal emigrant into the country making us venerable to another 9/11 attack or to rape, murder or other crimes. We read every day in the papers and see on the news of another child molested, of another woman raped, of people robbed or murdered by an illegal emigrant most of which have been convicted of a crime and are still in this country.
Our troops on the battle fields do not need the pressure of worrying that their families at home will be murdered, raped or are killed in another 9/11 because their President that sent them to war and their congress that voted for it DID NOT TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTION TO PROTECT THEIR FAMILIES AT HOME.
As volunteers they willing make a huge sacrifice to protect our country, surely we can take every action to protect their Families and Homeland.
Please Help "CLOSE THE BACK DOOR", write the President, Congress and Homeland Security.

Good post!  You should send it in letter form to your reps in congress, Chertoff and Bush.

Speakengl,  I should have mentioned that I have sent this to every Senator and Representative, Chertoff and Bush and have yet to receive a reply--that tells you something.

Maxstake, I understand!  I send things daily as well as calls!  By the way, welcome to the forum.  Lots of interesting threads and contributors in firesociety.  When an issue comes up that's important to most of us, we really do rally together to try to make the difference and keep each other informed.

speakengl, I believe if we can attract enough people to write, e-mail, fax etc the Powers that Be we can make a difference. This was obvious with the last Immigration Bill, but we must keep at it, they are trying again. I just found Fire Society, and have send it to all my friends and family. Thanks for the Welcome,  Take Care.

well since your new here i would like to introduce myself. Howdy . by the way , im an asshole.

people have been faxing, calling and emailing for quite some time now and weve gone from no to where real fast. not a big supporter of the war. breaks my heart to see them die for a worthless cause. Iraqs not a threat nor is Iran. if Iran does get the bomb Isreal would send them a can of kosher suprise. our problem is to the south. the hole country could tank on saturday and no one would care as long as they get to see the cowboys play on sunday. ask the troops why they fight and they spew the propaganda they have been fed . then they go door to door and steal guns for people in New Orleans, or kill 19 chrildren in Waco. oh and lets not forget Ruby Ridge. all for freedom. i understand most of these kids fighting today dont remember Waco or Ruby Ridge. but they know what they did in NO. talk is good but it will only get you so far. were brought up taught to ignore the bully on the play ground. if you do he will go away. thats not true. it took one uppercut to the chin , problem solved. my point is we can talk till we are blue in the face but it wont matter. it wont change. at some point you stop talking and invoke the 2nd. you pick up a gun. this has been discussed on this sight before. it wont be pretty. it wont be in some far away land. our homes , our streets will run red. and it will be against our own military. because they wont help America fight for her freedom.
