He's not the perfect human being, but he fully understands the necessity that the federal government stop trying to run our lives, give the states their sovereignty back, and let people make their own decisions and be responsible for their future, not to mention letting us keep our money.  One-issue critics against him have failed to see that broader perspective that makes Dr. Paul the ideal candidate.  Fortunately, a heck of a lot of supporters have seen that, which is why his campaign is enjoying so much success.

Ron Paul raked in an impressive fundraising total.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – He's locked in low single digits in most polls, but Texas Rep. Ron Paul raised more than $5 million for his presidential bid in the third quarter, roughly equal to or just short of several of his higher -profile rivals.

"Dr. Paul's message is freedom, peace and prosperity," Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder said in a statement announcing the total. "As these fundraising numbers show, more Americans each day are embracing Dr. Paul's message."

Paul's fundraising total is a 114-percent increase over what he raised last quarter and is also only $2 million shy of what Democratic White House hopeful John Edwards raised during the same period. It is also roughly equal to the fundraising totals of Arizona Sen. John McCain and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.

I heard the Ron Paul website was temporarily shut down as a result of too many people donating. Can someone confirm this?

Congrats to the Ron Paul supporters!

Also, I heard the VFW endorsed Ron Paul.  Is that correct?  if so that is BIG TIME in my way of thinking.

This is going to royally tick off the status quo old guard of the Republican Party where they are still clinching to their last breath of the Dole era.

Now if he would only commit to deporting an illegal for every dollar raised....

To be exact, the VFWPAC has NOT endorsed Paul for president.  They have in the past endorsed his congressional campaigns.....along with 78 other republicans, including Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter and 77 democrats, including Ted Kennedy and Bill Delahunt and Steny Hoyer.

Yep, this is correct.  There is no presidential endorsement of any candidate yet by the VFW.

It is stated on the Military/Vetarns For Ron Paul site that they have endorsed him repeatedly for Congress:

Hopefully this will continue to chip away towards getting true conservatives to reject the liberalism that has hi-jacked the GOP party.

The liberal Neo-cons are currently in mid-air having driven their bus off the cliff.  if they would only just "repent and sin no more".

The really good news is that Paul is strongest on Economics and the economy and the next debate is all about economics (something the public hasn't heard him talk about much unless they watch Cspan hearings) ......he should really open some eyes with his strong suit!!!  Ultra-conservatives can still get control of where we are going and snatch it away from the NewWorldOrder crowd that has lost the publics confidence.

With hearts fortified with these animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God and the world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, which our beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we have been compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of every hazard, with unabating firmness and perseverence, employ for the preservation of our liberties; being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live slaves
