Tancredo Campaign Makes $1.6 Million
Submission for Matching Funds

(Washington, D.C.) – The Tancredo Campaign filed its first matching funds submission today-for $1.606 million.

“We are on track to be a force in the upcoming primary season,” National Chair Bay Buchanan stated, “This submission will be used as collateral for a bank loan which guarantees the campaign all the funds necessary to be strong in the coming months.”

In order to be eligible to receive matching funds, campaigns must reach a threshold of $100,000. The total amount must include $5,000 raised in 20 different states with a maximum donation of $250 from any individual. The Tancredo campaign was officially certified to receive matching funds on September 12, 2007.

Submissions are made on the first working day of each month. Beginning in January 2008 funds are distributed by the U.S. Treasury Department.

This is good news for Tom Tancredo, and impetus for him to push on to the primaries.  If you support him, and his views on the issues, consider donating to his campaign.

Everyone must know in their heart, even the uniformed, about how this man wants to set our country back on course.  He is honest, forthright and believes in our country.  If we want changes in Washington, we have to work for them, and that means getting behind someone who is not afraid to face the issues and do something about them.

I am going to start giving something every week because I would rather skimp on a few food items (perhaps lose some weight) rather than lose my country.

Tom is worth the sacrafice to be able to give a little something every week.  If everyone could just say they went to McDonalds or somewhere and instead sent that money weekly to Tom, I am sure it would help.

This is the time we can make our voices heard even when the "Powers that be" don't want to know we even exist.

Three cheers for Tom Tancredo!!!  This is good news!  I personally don't think anyone needs 30 million dollars to move a campaign!  What the heck are the others spending it on?  Think about it?  They get most of their media coverage free!  Tom has to work hard to get any coverage...He is doing this the way it should be done.  They have to hire an army of people to move it  along!  If we keep donating to Tom he will have the money to run a honest campaign.  He won't need Corporate America to help him... He just needs loyal constituents, and that he has....

Msbobbie is onto something--we can get free press for Tom by all writing letters to editors about Tom to all of our community papers.  Much info is available to allow each of us to compose a letter to inform the public.  Since the press and media don't want to get Tom's name and purpose out there--we can and we can do it at no cost to Tom.  Get those computers/pens whatever going!!! Search can be done to obtain every newspaper and its address online.

This is awesome! I donate monthly, as I get paid and never felt better about spending the money. Tonight Cnn reported, since the campaign began, Hillary has raised 80M and Obama, 79M. All that tells the American people is the White House has a huge sign saying "For Sale". The MSM is the cash cows as a result.

It takes winning many battles to win a war and this is such good news for Tom. His hard work and values are paying off. He is prudent with OUR money!! I plan to write my local paper and TV stations. Off to work! God Bless Tom.

Good for Tom.

Up until now I had been sitting on the fence hoping to see some good things out of Fred Thompson but his recent endorsement of John McCain's politics has me going far away from him and rapidly toward Tom.

As a 21 year Arizona resident I know what kind of rat John McCain is and I cannot in good conscience support him or any of his "friends".

I love the founders vision of Freedom too much to sign on to Big Controlling Country Club Government.    I want a PATRIOT America First President.

Business is tough these days, but I will send Tancredo what I can as often as I can.  Hope his message gets out since it is what we need desperately if we are to turn anything of value over to our next generation.

Glad to hear he's getting some dough!  It's sad that the media measures each candidate based on the war-chest some Big businesses give them.  Let the 2nd tier folks prevail....

"If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy. Of all the enemies to public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. The loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or imagined, from abroad." -- James Madison

Conservatives Consider 3rd-Party Run

Some of the nation's most politically influential conservative Christians, alarmed by the prospect of a Republican presidential nominee who supports abortion rights, are considering backing a third-party candidate.

More than 40 Christian conservatives attended a meeting Saturday in Salt Lake City to discuss the possibility, and planned more gatherings on how they should move forward, according to Richard A. Viguerie, the direct-mail expert and longtime conservative activist.

Rudy Giuliani, who supports abortion rights and gay rights, leads in national polls of the Republican presidential candidates. Campaigning in New Jersey on Monday, Giuliani brushed aside talk of an upstart effort by religious conservatives. "I'm working on one party right now - the Republican Party," Giuliani said. "I believe we are reaching out very, very well to Republicans. The emphasis is on fiscal conservatism, which brings Republicans together."

Other participants in the meeting included James Dobson, founder of the Focus on the Family evangelical ministry in Colorado Springs, Colo., and, according to Viguerie, Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council, a conservative policy group in Washington. Dobson attended the meeting, but is not yet participating in any planning for a third party, said Gary Schneeberger, a spokesman for Focus on the Family Action.

Dobson and others spoke out against the idea at the meeting, even though both major parties could nominate candidates who back abortion rights and other policies that conservative Christians oppose, Schneeberger said. A spokesman for Perkins did not respond to requests for comment Monday.

Viguerie would not give specifics of the proposal or reveal additional names of participants, but said President Bush "would not have been elected in '04 without the people in that room."

"There is such jaundiced feelings about any promises or commitments from any Republican leaders," he said in a phone interview. "You could almost cut the anger and the frustration with a knife in that room it's so strong. Because they don't know what else to do, they're talking third party."

A spokesman for the Republican National Committee did not respond to a request for comment.

The participants were in Salt Lake City for a separate meeting of the secretive Council for National Policy, a group of conservative business, religious and political leaders that was co-founded years ago by Tim LaHaye, author of the "Left Behind" series of books.

Vice President Dick Cheney flew into the city Friday to address the group, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. Christian conservatives, who hold considerable sway in the Republican Party, have been deeply unhappy about the field of GOP presidential candidates.

Dobson has said he wouldn't support Giuliani, calling the former New York mayor an "unapologetic supporter of abortion on demand." Dobson has also rejected former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson as wrong on social issues, and wouldn't back John McCain because of the Arizona senator's opposition to a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.

Viguerie said conservatives "are still open" to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, but said, "we haven't seen anything that guarantees that he will hold to the positions that he's articulating." Romney has been questioned about his record on gay rights.

However, the proposal to consider a third-party candidate comes from anger that the Republicans whom Christians have helped elect for decades have failed to act on policy issues important to evangelicals on abortion, marriage and school prayer. "Conservatives have been treated like a mistress as long as any of us can remember," Viguerie said. "

They'll have lots of private meetings with us, tell us how much they appreciate it and how much they value us, but if you see me on the street please don't speak with me."

A third-party run would be a long shot, requiring millions of dollars and challenges to ballot access. Such a bid could prove disastrous for the GOP by splitting the vote.

Richard Land, head of the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, was not at the meeting. But he said no one floating the idea of a third party thinks there's much chance the candidate would win.

He considers the proposal a reaction to "moguls of the Republican establishment" who think conservative Christians will support the GOP no matter what. "A lot of them won't hold their nose and do it," Land said.

We need to get to these people.  I agree, BY, they need a copy of the Values Voter Debate along with the Morgan State Debate, and information about Tom Tancredo.
