Congressman Tancredo today made the following remarks on the recent speech made by Iranian President Ahmadinejad at Columbia University today:

“Ahmadinejad is an international criminal and a leading sponsor of terrorism,” Tancredo said. “This is a man who has contributed directly to the deaths of American soldiers.”

“For Columbia University’s President to host Ahmadinejad on campus under the guise of free-speech while simultaneously barring the ROTC smacks of hypocrisy.”

“Regrettably, Columbia University thinks it’s ok to ban the U.S. military from campus while allowing a terrorist, responsible for killing dissidents in his home country and American soldiers in Iraq, to speak in their auditorium,” concluded Tancredo. “It is quite unfortunate that this is what passes for ‘higher education’ in America these days.”

I am having a hard time understanding why he is even allowed in our country.  I suppose he does have access to the UN, but that should be it and he should have to pay for the security escort from the airport and back.

YUMA KID  it is a shame the man is given any recognition at all.  I don't know how smart he is, but I am absolutely certain he is devious as they come and I wouldn't believe a word out of his mouth.  That was some introduction the president of the University gave him,  I would think he would have crawled off the stage.

I am not Jewish - I am Christian - but I do get the regular publication by email from the Jerusalem Prayer Team.  About a month ago (I think) they had a poll asking if people thought that Ahmadinejad should be allowed to come into the country to talk to the UN.  I gather that he had to be granted a temporary visa to be able to come.  They also gave a way to email the President with a request that the visa be denied.  I sent my email - - but Georgie boy is really good at ignoring his people.

YUMA KID  I just have my doubts that we can stand George until Jan. 2009.  By golly he can cause a lot of trouble in that length of time.  If we impeach him then we get Darth Vader (Cheney) after him Pelosi.  What we need is a triple  impeachment. Fat chance.

Speaking for myself, I would've liked to have seen Congressman Tancredo out there protesting with the thousands of other people. It would have made all of the major networks and gave his campaign a real kick-in-the-butt. Those students and other people would've shown great support for him to be President had he been there.

If he was there, I hadn't heard about it.

The one thing that really got me was how the Iranian President "supposedly" acknowledged the Holocaust as having happened. Well, that was just a gimmick because there's no way he would have denied it in front of all of those people. It was just a ploy to try and rally support for his cause. I know, deep down, that there couldn't be that many people who believed it. I know that I sure didn't.

I'm glad he didn't decide to travel anywhere else in the U.S. It was a total disgrace to Columbia University to allow a murderer to waltz into their auditorium and spread his ideological rhetoric. I thought the IVY League schools were supposed to be the top in the nation. Columbia University went to the bottom of the barrel, in my book.Cry

Creampuff - - My father used to be a professor at the University of Colorado.  Fortunately he died in 1996, so he doesn't have to witness the total decline of our institutions of higher education.  If you start researching the whole lot of them, you will discover that, as a general rule they have been overtaken buy the anti-Americans, the politically correct pansies with no back bone, the ultra liberalists, the Globalist eletists, and a whole group that calls themselves Christians but think that the Bible is invalid and they think they can go to church on Sunday and follow the devil (though they deny his existance) the whole rest of the week.  I have been totally sickened by what I have learned about the current batch of college professors.  They, in their teaching are really trying to open the way for the SPP to do it's damage and set up the NAU.

Now, are there exceptions to that?  Well, of course.  There are always exceptions to any generalization.  I was talking about the majority that I have been able to research and their graduated students and what they are espousing.
