Dear Senator

Unfortunately the Durbin "nightmare" amendment has not attracted media attention ----YET. If the senate approves this wolf in sheep's clothing trick to legalize millions of illegal residents (and many who have not yet crossed the border)THERE WILL BE A MEDIA STORM THAT WILL MAKE THE "Comprehensive" immigration reform bill look like a national yawn.

SA2237 is inappropriate as it has nothing to do with military funding and should be rejected out of hand for that reason.

SA2237 is a stab in the back to legal US residents of all stripes. The US senate learned during the "comprehensive" reform fight that the vast majority of legal US residents do not want amnesty. SA2237 is a stealth maneuver to go behind the backs of the voters in the interest of greedy employers who want to dilute the labor pool to get cheaper laborers.

This amendment would allow millions to get legal status and then their relatives, both in and outside the US to get legal status!

Our national resources will not support the existing population! We already import electricity, lumber, major quantities of food and massive amounts of oil! What will happen with 30 million additional immigrants???????

VOTE NO ON THIS NIGHTMARE ANIT-AMERICAN AMENDMENT!

Respectfully,

Stuart

Welcome aboard, Stuart and thank you for your letter to Senator Durbin.  We all will and need to contact our respective senators in regard to SA 2237.  We will stop this as we did the last amnesty.

 Thanks, again.

Stuart.  Good letter!  Durbin and Hagel are two peas in the pod.  Hagel helped with the Nightmare Act and is also pro-amnesty.  He's not running in 08 and word has it is hoping to have a cabinet post-God help us!!  Hagel is my Anti American senator!  Kaks-- as last time, I think we need to contact multiple senators, not just our own.  Those who voted against last time but have not yet committed to voting against must be called.  Also, the power senators should be called!  Info at http://numbersusa.com/index

And do NOT forget those running for Prez on both sides of the aisle!  It is interesting what a few thousand emails and phone calls might do to their retoric!

Called 'em both again.  Probably a waste of time with Craig but he will continue to hear from me until he leaves office.  Crapo is already with us, but he needs to know we are solidly behind him on it.

Numbers USA is supposed to be posting the senators who are voting for these amendments on their website and as they find out they will vote no, they will take their names off the list, go to
http://www.numbersusa.com

to find out who to call and they suggest calling other senators too if you have the time!

///

Let's move as many Senators off the NumbersUSA home page as possible.

  • If your state has waffling Senators, call them -- in DC and in your home state.

  • If you have some more time, call waffling Senators from small-population states because they tend not to get enough phone calls from our side.

  • Tell the waffling Senators that you are shocked to see their names on NumbersUSA's list of Senators who are declining to pledge to vote NO on the DREAM Act Amnesty. Pull talking points from lower in this email and from the Phone action notes on your Action Buffet corkboard.

  • If the staffers try to tell you that their Senator is probably against the amnesty or definitely is, tell the staffer that NumbersUSA is reporting that at this minute the Senator has declined to make the pledge. Tell them that they need to call NumbersUSA to straighten that out. But also say that NumbersUSA is saying that many Senate offices are telling their voters that they probably will oppose the amnesty but are keeping their options open to still vote YES. If they want to be believed and for the massive phone calls to stop, they will need to publicly make the no-amnesty pledge to NumbersUSA or to one of our allied organizations on Capitol Hill.

  • If you don't have a waffler Senator in your state, phone your Senators who are on the list of Pro-Amnesty Senators, the second list on our home page. That is the list of Senators who voted YES on the Comprehensive Amnesty in June and who are indicating they will vote YES on this amnesty. They have been blasted all summer for their anti-American worker, pro-lawlessness stance. Perhaps your phone calls Tuesday can help them decide against voting for amnesty again.

  • Most Senators have not declared either way on this DREAM Act Amnesty. We need many more people on our NO list to persuade Senate leaders that this amnesty is too controversial and would just drag down all the rest of the Senate's work.

Phone calls have more impact as they are more personal and handled in personal manner.  Emails and faxes are collected , bundled and not individually read.  This is advice of Rep. Steve King, IA.

Check out "numbersusa.com" for Tue. plan!!!

I called yesterday and today, and not just Arizona's Senators - I'm calling as many Senators as I am able! I'm telling them "Any Senator with memory loss regarding scamnesty needs to find a new job - preferably at minimum wage!" NO AMNESTY, NEVER! They can call it whatever they want, but it should not happen now or ever! Glenn Beck mentioned it yesterday (Monday) on his show.

This is our country, take it back! (Thank you Tom Tancredo!) Press 1 for English; Press 2 to deport all illegal immigrants!

Sessions told them today they should stop wasting their time on controversial bills like this and focus to actually get something done for the country. I agree. They are wasting their time and tax payers money trying to give the country away. The new name I think will still for the Dream Act. Its the nightmare.

Deport congress and the president!!

I have too, my senators, Murray and Cantwell, are bot and paid for by the illegals and bill gates--they are as crooked as the day is long anymore, so there is no hope there, so I call senators in other states to remind them this is America, NOT Mexico!!

Here is a reply I got from Barack Obama, notice he doesn't take a strong stand AGAINST illegals, indeed, he bends over backwards to say the "we can't, we can't, we can't" NEGATIVE words and also states the problem was "too tough to resolve"...so, we are to believe he is going to be TOUGH on Syria, Iraq, Iran, N Korea etc and yet he has no backbone and deporting millions of illegals lawbreakers from this country was "too tough" a job??????  Yea, right...

Thank you for contacting me about immigration reform. I appreciate having the benefit of your perspective on this important issue.

On June 28, the Senate soundly defeated S.1348, the immigration reform bill. The bill was authored by Senators Ted Kennedy (D-MA) and Jon Kyl (R-AZ), and supported by President Bush. It attacks the immigration problem in a comprehensive fashion by tightening border security, increasing enforcement against employers who hire illegal workers, and establishes a process by which undocumented workers and their families can earn citizenship after paying fines and learning English. Further, the bill would create a temporary program for foreign workers who must return to their homeland after a specified period.

The most contentious elements of the Kennedy/Kyl bill were its path to citizenship, the new point system it proposes for future immigration and its guest worker program.  The Senate considered a number of amendments to the bill.  For example, I supported an amendment to reduce the number of temporary workers permitted to enter the country annually from 400,000 to 200,000 as well as an amendment to end the temporary worker program after five years. Both of these amendments passed and became part of the bill. In the final analysis, however, the Senate refused to cut off debate on the bill, thereby likely killing it for the remainder of this Congress.

I fully understand the strong feelings many in Illinois and across the United States hold regarding the adverse effects of illegal immigration. Indeed, illegal immigration causes significant consequences that affect American workers as well as health and education infrastructure. Many people understandably believe that undocumented immigrants should not be rewarded for flouting U.S. law and suggest we should just seal our borders and deport undocumented workers currently living in the country. On the other hand, it is significant that the Department of Homeland Security recognizes that identifying and deporting 12 million undocumented workers currently working in this country would be both difficult logistically and disruptive to the American economy.  Ultimately, this dilemma about how to treat undocumented aliens currently in the country proved too tough to resolve. Although the Senate has now moved on to consider other issues, you may be certain that I will remember your perspective should similar immigration reform legislation come before the Senate in the future.

Again, thank you for writing. I hope my delay in responding will not deter you from staying in touch.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
United States Senator

Thanks VEE BEE!           Obama will hear from me!  No one has suggested we identify, locate and deport illegals.  All we have to do is cut off jobs and services and they will return to their homes (yes 99% of them HAVE HOMES) they are not homeless pilgrims!

I lived in Mexico for 5 years.  I speak, read and write Spanish fluently.  I love the Mexican people over all.  All of this has nothing to do with the exploding population in the USA. ---I wish all Americans could live for a few months in Romania or India or Japan or some other OVER POPULATED area to get an idea just what it is like.     ---that is exactly what will happen to our country.  Every resource and national treasure stripped bare, people pushing and shoving to get onto or off of government transit.......   Does anyone get it?

Senator Harry Reid  Fax: (202 224 7327)

Dear Senator Reid,

It is my opinion that the Durbin "Dream" amendment (SA2237) should be delayed for many reasons.

1) It is one of the single most important pieces of legislation offered in the history of the USA. It has the potential to increase the population of the US by tens of millions. It is amnesty pure and simple.

2) It has been offered as an amendment which is not the proper place for an important piece of legislation.

3) It is being attached to a military funding bill which is against Senate rules.

4) The suddenness of this "move" on the part of Senator Durbin and his backers has not allowed the public any opportunity to give input.

5) This huge and complex amendment (which should be a bill standing on it's own) has never been discussed in any committee.

Never mind whether people are for or against the bill. Shoving major legislation that may change the USA in a major way through the Senate (without public input) is a shame and a blemish on the Senate which is currently in rather low esteem in public opinion.

PLEASE DELAY SA2237 AND ALLOW IT’S DETAILS TO BE STUDIED BY SENATORS AND THE PUBLIC.

Stuart Cox

from the Obama response I posted earlier:

"On the other hand, it is significant that the Department of Homeland Security recognizes that identifying and deporting 12 million undocumented workers currently working in this country would be both difficult logistically and disruptive to the American economy. "

Hmm, this just got me to thinking, if there were several million TERRORISTS living/working/hiding in this country, do you think the Department of Homeland Security would find it difficult and disruptive to arrest/deport them????  Ya know, if the job is too tough, step down and some of the rest of us will apply for those well paying jobs who feel we COULD get the job done!!  I am SO totally tired of the negative words our elected officials, our Presidential canidates, and our gov't workers continually spout:  we can't, we can't, we can't, we can't!

Well as a voter, I CAN'T vote for the above!!

Alert!    Durbin has now changed his "Dream" Act to SA2237 a slightly watered down version he hopes will bring more senators on board.  Let's blast him and let our senators know that we know that his changes are window dressing.  It is still an amnesty act.

1) it will still allow millions of illegals to be legalized and it will still allow those gaining said legal status to bring their relatives in from everywhere on the planet!

 2) it will still water down our job market placing legals and citizens out of work and placing people who want to work on welfare

 3) It is still a sell out to the rich, a road to destroying the middle class and several steps toward NAU.

We must keep up the pressure on our (and other) senators.  --Full speed ahead!
