This is outrageous! Besides being blasphemous, it is an insult to her fans who believe in God and Jesus, whether she does or not.

I think people have failed to grasp the meaning of the First Amendment right to free speech. This amendment does not encourage people to blatantly say whatever flits through their brain, regardless of the feelings of others. Celebrity does not guarantee this sort of callous attitude. Celebrity has to realize that what the public built up can be torn down. Its time for celebrity to stop "patting themselves on the back" and get into the real world. Pure sensationalism, as Janet Jackson and others have done, has no place in the polite, rational world. Hope her kids understand enough to be "proud" of mommy.

And whatever her religious affiliation, all talent (as if she has any) comes from God. So, maybe she is right. Jesus had nothing to do with her lack of talent, awarded from people of the same ilk. Her mouth runs on her free will.

We, as a people, have the right to ostracize her from our lives.

I agree!

Isn't this a hate-crime against Christians and their belief in Jesus Christ?  Shouldn't we get this out to Christians so they can boycott her program and make our voices heard at the Emmys, etc.  If we dont' fight this bigotry, it will only get worse.  If Kathy Griffin would have said something like this about a muslium, homosexual, terrorist or illegal alien it would have been all over the news and these groups would be fighting to make her aplogize, put in a rehab and attend tolerance training.

Who watches the Emmy's or TV or her show for that matter?  She's just another unfunny comedian like her soul sista Rosie O'Donnell.  They both need to get out of show biz.

As for her comment about our beloved Jesus - well, she can go pound sand.

Agree.  Kathy Griffin is just another self-absorbed, lacking in confidence pseudo comedian.  These people always have to have a scapegoat for their problems.  She wants to blame Jesus for what she lacks in character and conscience. Just another wacko looking for sympathy and support of her twisted ways.

If the comments she made are not directly censored, the AFA Action Alert people will be on her.

I feel sorry for her. She must have pebbles for brains, no morals and certainly no couth. Why do we let people like her make a living having to do with the public? I will never look or listen to her again

Kathy Griffin is one of the premiere comediannes from the ever so growing Liberal entertainment world. She wouldn't care less what she said. Kathy will be held tremendously accountable come Great White Throne time. We though should pray for her just because she did this. No doubt this act she did was big time horrible.

It doesn't matter if you guys know who she is or not....... God knows. And when she stands before him, let her tell him he doesn't exist.

Although I find what she said offensive, it might be better to let speech air on the show.  That way more people will see and hear what a horrible person she is.  Most people are probably still unaware of her disgusting and hateful speech.  Maybe then she could go from the "D-List" to the "Nowhere List".

And, judging by some of the synopses of her show that I've read while looking for something to watch, I'm pretty sure Jesus didn't have anything to do with her award.  I remember that in one show she was apparently rehearsing for an awards ceremony for gay porn according to the synopsis.

She's just a vulgar, ignorant, Hollyweird type who is so afraid of Jesus' truth that all she can do is attack like that.  Pretty pathetic, really.

She explained her point in saying that on Larry King, her point was she was sick and tired of hearing all the "stars" say, thanks to God I won this award, or all the sports "heros" say, thanks to God I got  a touchdown, or like Michael Vick all of a sudden finding God after killing and torturing dogs.  There are a ton of "born again" murderers and rapists serving time in prison!

Like she says, she believes God has more important things to do with this world than help some twitty movie star win some dumb award!!  That is why she said "God had nothing to do with me winning this award"--come on people, pull your heads out and LISTEN for the entire story before condeming, do you think that God has a special place in heaven for those who use his name in vain by condeming others to hell????  Hmmm, seems he might be a bit miffed at those so arrogant they think THEY get to say will "burn in hell".  Funny, but in my religious teachings I don't remember a nasty, vengeful God, but a kind, forgiving God, so, are we talking about the same one????

Here's why we give thanks to God....

Psa 18:49

So I will give you thanks before the nations,  O Lord! I will sing praises to you!

Psa 35:18

I will give you thanks in the great assembly;   I will praise you before a large crowd of people!

Eph.5:20    Always give thanks to God the Father for each other.

1Th 5:18

In everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Psa 86:12

O Lord, my God, I will give you thanks with my whole heart! I will honor your name continually!

Rev 7:12

Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”

People who love God gladly honor him for everything He has done in their lives.  God is good and they do it because their hearts are overflowing with passion and joy for Him.  Whatever we love we honor.  Kathy loves herself and is her own god...it's as simple as that.

Her opinions as to why she won - her God-given talent or lack of it notwithstanding - are not what I take issue with. My question would be, "Was that her actually phraseology?" And if it was, why was it necessary for her to express herself in this sensational manner? Apparently she has so little confidence in her "ability" that she feels she has to resort to shocking others to maintain what she considers funny and stay in the limelight.

It seems many of the celebrities of our country - be they in the entertainment area, the sporting world, or politics have gotten this arrogant, God-like attitude that they can do no wrong and we, the public, will blithely follow their antics and applaud them. Seems to be time for a boycott of anything featuring them. They are really full of themselves - amongst other things.

And the nominees are:

Kathy Griffin, OJ Simpson, Michael Vick, Jane Fonda, Rosie O'Donnell, Jerry Springer, GW, Hillary, ad infinitum

Feel free to add your own nominee - they are just too numerous to mention

And they continue because we allow them to get away with their "right to free speech". No more rules of propriety, no consideration for the rights or views of others - just say what spews out of your brain.

You are right Big Brother, we allow them to get away with it. So, who do you go to to stop it? How did that woman get prayer taken out of schools? How did thet stop us from puttiny the Nativity on publec ground? Who did these people go to and why don't we? Why is it we only hear of people winning against something good not against a bad thing?

Vee Bee I can agree with some of what you said above but she did forget to explain on the Larry King spin control show why the " Suck it Jesus" and "This Award is My god Now" was necessary to make her point of how she is tired of people expressing a real grattitude to a real savior working in their lives.  I don't think anyone owes her an apology for expressing grattitude when they feel a real blessing.   She should exercise a little of the tolerance she preaches to others about and chill out.  I will pray for her eternal soul and not support monetarily any of her pursuits.

J. Williams:

Not really sure of the exact quote but as near as I can remember, "Evil survives when good men do nothing." For too long we have been the few that have lived up to the precepts of the Constitution and our own faiths. We believed in doing unto others as we would have done unto ourselves. So, we accepted these basic moral principles and we accepted the First Amendment, believing all people to be decent and caring of others.

We have been bombarded by the antireligious media with all manner of depravity and so-called "separation of church and state". Our forefathers, I believe upon reading many of their writings, meant ONLY that the nation's government should not put one religion over another, thus "establishing" a religion. They did not say we should have no religion. Unfortunately, the people in charge read it differently. Their agenda simply put, is Greed. They appeal to baser instincts reminding me of when we were children and looked up "dirty" words in the dictionary or medical anatomy books. They are always on the lookout for new ways to shock us with their constant swearing, fornicating and use of bodily functions now coming into full view in movies and TV.

I have no personal desire to see the way others engage in sex nor do I want to see them sitting on the toilet. I do not care what their sexual orientation is. I do not care if other religions post their beliefs as long as I can post mine, too. God has many names. Perhaps if this posting was allowed, some basic moral principles might be absorbed, or recalled from childhood teachings, by a mere glance as they passed by.

Their (entertainers, athletes, politicians) attitudes are that they ARE gods and can do no wrong. They revel in adulation and sensationalism. We have been placed in the position of trying to change their attitudes and we can do that by boycotting their events/ shows/laws  and even writing to them to state our views of how far they have sunk in our eyes.
