PJB: Has Bush Boxed Himself In?

by Patrick J. Buchanan

As Americans anguish over how to extricate this country from Iraq without a disaster greater than what we now have, and without our friends suffering the fate of our friends in Cambodia and Vietnam, they had best brace themselves. This escalator is going up.

George Bush and his generals are laying out the case for a new war. And there has been no resistance offered either by a vacationing Congress or the major presidential candidates.

This is lengthy but an ABSOLUTE MUST READ.  We have bigger fish to fry than Mexican Trucks and the SPP

It isn't all that long. However, after reading it one cannot ascertain for certain that an attack is for sure. It leaves you with questions and an open to make up your own mind.

Last week Iran announced that it had a new superior missile and is more or less itchy to test it out on anyone that challenges him. This to me is Mahmoud calling a bluff. Sort of like, "Our missiles are better than yours are, nah! nah! nah! nah! naaaaah! nah!"

Yes, If I were in Israel's position I'd be concerned too. I'm sure too, many of our, and Israel's military personnel are ready to put Mahmoud numbskull into place. Nuclear weapons in his hands would be a real viable threat to Israel, and much of the world.

One of my roommates in college was from Iran. He was a really nice guy until you crossed him. Then he was non forgiving. They are very stern and proud people, but I do not believe they are happy about their present political situation either.

If the US has an ounce of sense collectively we will Back the French as they go in . The only ther alternative is to nuke em and head for our fallout shelters , because many other countries would view us as a target no matter if we nuked em or not , just for invading another country , so we might as well be done with it as far as Iran is concerned . The nuclear holocast will not be limited to one country or even one area . Those of you who are the hawks on Iraq , with no solution other than stay the course have brought this pimple to a head .

Gerald , it isn't just that your room mate was from Iran , we all can only take just so much before we go ballistic , I can see it in you too .

Actually it’s not a new missile that Iran has but a glide bomb similar to some of our GBU series of bombs and I’m afraid they didn’t invent it either because more than not it came as part of the package deal they got from Russia.  They’re nearing completion of receiving 250 new SU-30 fighter bombers and 20 new refueling aircraft.  These new planes will give Iran a direct strike capability against Israel, before all they had were missiles that they could shoot at Israel because their aircraft lacked the range to effectively attack Israel, but not any longer.

I have many gripes against President Bush but the war on terror is not one of them, what we have been doing in Afghanistan and Iraq should have been done decades ago.  As far as attacking Iran we may not even get the chance to, but it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if we don’t have everything amassed against them here very soon. As far as backing the French in their effort against Iran, I just don’t go for that at all, the French are way to screwed up to allow them to be the pointy end of the spear while we just follow and get stuck with the mess.  Nope that WOULD be a recipe for total disaster.

There are big plans for the Middle East including Iran, but they’re not the plans of man.

I have said for several years, even before 9/11, we will invade Iran. Why you ask? Because the Scriptures say that when the son of perdition comes into power, he will overcome three kings. Media/Persia and Babylon.

Which in modern terms is Afganistan, Iraq and Iran. Two down and one to go.

I have a lot more showing shrub is the son of perdition if anyone is interested.

I do not know if it is fact or fiction but i have been reading that Israel will go to any means to stir up hostilities and make it appear that someone else did the deed. When they desire to have something done to a country they make it appear that that country has done something in order to get others to do something to the country they have a problem with. This way Israel gets everyone else to do their dirty work.

Fact or fiction who knows but it sounds feasible.

This is purly fiction, Israel has never had a problem beating the tar out of her neighbors all by herself.  This time though israel will have help from an old friend a really old one Cool.

icon & John - - you probably won't do it  - - but "if you want true information"  go read Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 - - - especially 39.  It tells you what is going to happen to the Islamists (all of them) in the near future.  That happens to be the next prophecy that will be fulfilled.  It referenes 'the end days' more than once.

In the meantime - we humans must "carry the torch" so to speak and keep the Islamists fighting over there so that the major conflict does not become right here.

If you don't have a Bible - google Bible Gateway and find the passage there.

Also, read Romans Chapter 11:25-29.   Irrevocable is the word.  Just further proves that God's word is never wrong.

My question would be fuel.  They have to import more than half of their fuel now because their refining capacity does not meet their needs.

wtg Gerald. God's word is never wrong indeed. Could the Rapture be close? Don't know. But, I have a feeling we could be gone soon. War with Iran is coming, but the question is, when. We better have a grand plan or the Liberals will have a field day. They for one want to negotiate as always and that is something that is always a farce.

Ah but history teaches us if anything to not trust the Persians, I would say that the reason  they have the fuel shortage in the first place is because they have been stockpiling the fuel they will need in the attack.

It wasn't widely reported but as of May 22 of this year we've had 3 aircraft carrier taskforces floating off of the coast of Iran, then as of last month the USS Enterprise and it's taskforce joined them.

I don't believe that we will have any ground actions against Iran, but our naval forces may get to blow some stuff up. Cool

I hope we aren't planning any ground troops. We would have to send in the Illegal Aliens. American citizens are busy just trying to survive, and take care of the needs of the Illegal Aliens. Our troops are stretched way too thin, worn out, Physiclly and Mentally. Our Troops deserve and require a break.

The illegal aliens can do it, they want to do the jobs Americans will not do. Besides they want to take over a country, let them have at it.

The IAEA has prevented Iran from building more refineries because the could be converted to nuclear use.

Someone I know who watches world affairs more closely that I do told me that.  Their production of fuel has not kept up with the demand for decades.

I do not think they are stockpiling fuel.

I did not think Pat was actually 'reporting' an attack is being planned.  He was "guessing" based on events we already know.

Pat's guesses are seldom far off the mark.

It is exciting yet simultaneously unsettling.  Just knowing that God cannot lie, that He is the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth, soothes my oft times shaky belief.  Awesome!
