Can anyone tell me, is there a web-site or agency that handles employment for returning vets? My husband is looking for people, good people, and we thought hiring returning soliders would be a good idea. Thanks!

If there is a military base near you, I bet you could call them and get direct answers.  I think that's wonderful that you're doing that!

Go to your State Employment Commission , they work very closely with veterans and have specialists to assist them .

Or to the Veterans Administration directly , they have a good program for re-entry and even offer training and assist the injured/maimed with money grants . They used to offer training stipends to employers who hire vets , don't know if they still do .

this website has oodles of listings and they PREFER people who are vets with security clearance. It takes up to an hour to fill out applications, and they require you to sign up on the site....they are associated with MANY government agencies including those with top secret clearance. GREAT PAY!

also http://www.usajobs.gov is ANOTHER excellent site for VETS...when you open the homepage, there is a special button to click JUST FOR VETS.
