We run a small used car dealership in our town. We are a cash only place and we see a lot of illegals. My husband is fluent in spanish, as his family is from Cuba. He's talked with several of the illegals and told them we cannot sell cars to them because they don't have a valid US driver's license. Within a few weeks they come back with a valid US Driver's license. A few have told them that a Sea Island company will make an 'illegal', legal for a charge of $500, but the people have assured him its all on the up and up. Is this possible?
How could it be on the "up and up"? When you legally obtain a driver's license you have to go to the the DPS, take the tests, fill out the paperwork and pay for your license there. Last time I received my legal driver's license I paid around $10, not $500. Your husband should not sell cars to these people unless they can show legal U.S. paperwork from the DPS stating that they received their license on the "up and up".

Mexican Senate Joins Elvira Arrellano Against American Rule of Law By Citizen Conservative (08/29/07)
THIS ARTICLE IN THE AMERICAN DAILY NEWS.
IF CONGRESS OR BUSH LETS MEXICO DO THIS TO AMERICA, THERE SHOULD BE A RIOT BY AMERICANS. IF THIS CAN HAPPEN YOU KNOW DARN GOOD AND WELL THEY WILL GET AWAY WITH THIS TYPE THING:
PSCHICK:A few have told them that a Sea Island company will make an 'illegal', legal for a charge of $500, but the people have assured him its all on the up and up. Is this possible?
YOU NEED TO DO A CHECK WITH DMV ON THIS TYPE THING!
When I got my drivers liscense I had to show birth certificate, social security card and a current bill with the correct address on it. I too only paid ten dollars, not 500. We all know that the documentation they (dmv) require can and are made fraudulantly! That, is where I think, the 500 comes in.
There has to be a way to check the documentation to make sure they are not fraudulant. Then I guess, nothing would be sold! We all know how much red tape goes along with something like that.
In the state of Illinois in order to registar a car in your name you must have a legal Illinois drivers liscense and it will be checked! Also you must show proof of insurance.
But what are the responsibilities of a car dealer in this respect? If the law requires a valid drivers license to purschase a car..then one would want to make sure the drivers license is valid.
The best advice is to check with your state DMV.
Reporting the who does the "illegal" legal ot Homeland is also a good idea. Doesn't even cost that much to get an expedited passport.
GLENN: Right. But isn't illegal immigration a crime in and of itself?
GIULIANI: No.
GLENN: Aren't you saying —
GIULIANI: Glenn —
GLENN: You're protecting criminals by saying that being treated as a criminal is unfair.
GIULIANI: Glenn, it's not a crime. I know that's very hard for people to understand, but it's not a federal crime.
GLENN: It's a misdemeanor but if you've been nailed, it is a crime. If you've been nailed, ship back and come back, it is a crime.
GIULIANI: Glenn, being an illegal immigrant, the 400,000 were not prosecuted for crimes by the federal government, nor could they be. I was U.S. attorney in the southern district of New York. So believe me, I know this. In fact, when you throw an immigrant out of the country, it's not a criminal proceeding. It's a civil proceeding.
GLENN: Is it —
GIULIANI: One of the things that congress wanted to do a year ago is to make it a crime, which indicates that it isn't.
GLENN: Should it be?
GIULIANI: Should it be? No, it shouldn't be because the government wouldn't be able to prosecute it. We couldn't prosecute 12 million people. We have only 2 million people in jail right now for all the crimes that are committed in the country, 2.5 million. If you were to make it a crime, you would have to take the resources of the criminal justice system and increase it by about 6. In other words, you'd have to take all the 800,000 police, and who knows how many police we would have to have.
GLENN: So what's your solution?
GIULIANI: My solution is close the border to illegal immigration.
Here is a REAL INTERVIEW with an illegal Mexican at a protest march in Texas. The reporter is trying to reason with an illegal Mexican named Juan. This is good! Below is a good example of a discussion with a master of circular logic.
Don't be logical; don't respect the truth or your adversary, just say what you think and it makes a new case when the previous case gets too difficult to defend.
On the streets of downtown Houston, May 1, 2007.
Jim Moore reporting for a Houston TV station:
Jim: Juan, I see that you and thou sands of other protesters are marching in the streets to demonstrate for your cause. Exactly what is your cause and what do you expect to accomplish by this protest?
Juan : We want our rights. We will show you how powerful we are. We will bring Houston to its knees!
Jim: What rights?
Juan: Our right to live here ... legally. Our right to get all the benefits you get.
Jim: When did you come to the United States?
Juan: Six years ago. I crossed over the border at night with seven other friends.
Jim: Why did you come?
Juan: For work. I can earn as much in a month as I could in a year in Mexico Besides, I get free health care, our Mexican children can go to school free, if I lose my job I will get welfare, and someday I will have the Social Security nothing like that in Mexico !
Jim: Did you feel badly about breaking our immigration laws when you came?
Juan: No! Why should I feel bad? I have a right to be here. I have a right to amnesty. I paid lots of money for my Social Security and Green Cards.
Jim: How did you acquire those documents?
Juan: From a guy in Dallas He charged me a lot of money too.
Jim: Did you know that those documents were forged?
Juan: It is of no matter. I have a right to be here and work.
Jim: What is the "right" you speak of?
Juan: The right of all aliens. It is found in your Constitution. Read it!
Jim: I have read it, but I do not remember it saying anything about rights for aliens.
Juan: It is in that part where it says that all men have alien rights, like the right to pursue happiness. I wasn't happy in Mexico , so I came here.
Jim: I think you are referring to the Declaration of Independence and that document speaks to unalienable rig hts not alien rights.
Juan: Whatever.
Jim: Since you are demanding to become an American citizen, why then are you carrying a Mexican Flag?
Juan: Because I am Mexican.
Jim: But you said you want to be given amnesty ... to become a U.S. citizen.
Juan: No. This is not what we want. This is our country, a part of Mexico that you gringos stole from us. We want it returned to its rightful owner.
Jim: Juan, you are standing in Texas After winning the war with Mexico , Texas became a Republic, and later Texans voted to join the USA It was not stolen from Mexico.
Juan: That is a gringo lie. Texas was stolen. So were California, New Mexico and Arizona. It is just like all the other stuff you gringos steal, like oil and babies. You are a country of thieves.
Jim: Babies? You think we steal babies?
Juan: Sure. Like from Korea and Vietnam and China I see them all over the place. You let all these foreigners in, but try to keep us Mexicans out. How is this fair?
Jim: So, you really don't want to become an American citizen then.
Juan: I just want my rights! Everyone has a right to live, work, and speak their native language wherever and whenever they please. That's another thing we demand. All signs and official documents should be in Spanish. Teachers must teach in Spanish. Soon, more people here in Houston will speak Spanish than English. It is our right!
Jim: If I were to cross over the border into Mexico without proper documentation, what rights would I have there?
Juan: None. You would probably go to jail, but that's different.
Jim: How is it different? You said everyone has the right to live wherever they please.
Juan: You gringos are a bunch of land grabbing thieves. Now you want Mexico too? Mexico has its rights. You gringos have no rights in Mexico. Why would you want to go there anyway? There is no free medical service, schools, or welfare there for foreigners such as you. You cannot even own land in my country. Stay in the country of your birth.
Jim: I can see that there is no way that we can agree on this issue. Thank you for your comments.
Juan: Viva Mexico!
Pass this along to every American citizen in your address books and to every representative in the state and federal government. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call your own nor anything you have worked for left since it will be "redistributed" to the activists while you are so peacefully
2. Ask for your Senator. (You can find the names of your Senators and all their contact info at: numbersusa.com/myMembers)
3. Tell the person who answers that you are calling to ask the Senator to vote NO next week on three measures that are being considered for the Defense Authorization bill.
a. Vote NO on Amendment 2237 that would attach the Dream Act Amnesty.
b. Vote NO on any measure to increase H-1B visas and permanent greencards for foreign workers to take jobs from skilled American workers and students.
c. Vote NO on any attempt to increase H-2B visas for seasonal foreign workers to take jobs from America's most vulnerable workers.
All summer since the media gave you credit for moving the Senate with your faxes and phone calls to kill the Comprehensive Amnesty bill, we have seen open borders groups telling their members that they would beat NumbersUSA at our own game this fall.
Some open borders groups said that they would be studying our NumbersUSA grassroots mobilization system carefully and would imitate it to generate more faxes and more phone calls FOR amnesty than we can AGAINST amnesty.
There have been reports of open-border billionaires so angry at the NumbersUSA success in June that they have pledged to provide enough money to the open-borders groups for them to generate more faxes and phone calls than our side.
Just one problem with all the bravura of the open-borders crowd: There are a whole lot more of us than them.
Thanks to the generosity of about 10% of you, we have the funds to pay for an avalanche of faxes over the next several days.
Please take the actions and forward this email to as many Americans as you know.
The opposition hopes that these three measures will seem so much smaller than the Comprehensive Amnesty that the American people will largely sit this one out.
Forget about asking questions relating to the transportation of illegal immigrants back to Mexico, because Wackenhut Corporation, which won a government contract to perform this function in the name of the American people, doesn't have to answer them!
The daily transportation of thousands of illegal immigrants back into Mexico has been turned over to a private company that was fired last year for botching security at the headquarters of the Department of Homeland Security.
The choice to hire Wackenhut Corporation--which also runs three detention facilities in Arizona--is sending a shudder through immigrant-rights circles, where advocates say the company's past of prisoner neglect and abuse should disqualify it from working in a sensitive border area.
The change took place quietly last October in Tucson and involves the nation's entire border with Mexico as part of a five-year, $250 million deal between the United States Customs and Border Protection agency and Wackenhut, the domestic subsidiary of the U.K.-based security giant Group 4 Securicor.
What's odd is that a portion of our nation's border security was taken away from the Border Patrol and handed over to a private company without much notice from media or officials--despite national attention on the area and even a recent visit from the president. In fact, Border Patrol officials still know very little about the Wackenhut workers.
Stranger still is that Wackenhut was given a contract to work with the U.S. Border Patrol the same year they were fired for providing inadequate security at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the parent organization of, ironically enough, the U.S. Border Patrol.
President Bush's comprehensive immigration reform, defeated in June, will make a second appearance this week when the Senate takes up various pro-amnesty amendments submitted to the Department of Defense funding bill, http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.... color="#0000ff">H.R. 1585, which is scheduled for debate.
While not "comprehensive" reform, the latest initiative attempts to pass key provisions of the earlier immigration measure piece by piece by attaching amendments to unrelated bills, a process critics characterize as "stealth."
