Tancredo hits it out of the park on Merens' show

I spent the last 45 minutes listening to Tom beautifully explain a whole host of his positions on the Ben Merens radio show out of Milwaukee on 8/23/07.

Lots of Q&A in the second half and well worth the time to hear from a real traditionalist "Reaganesque" Conservative.

msbobbie, you need a good cable package. I am running 15 mg down, I never get knocked off unless rr has a problem. If it keeps sstopping and then it says buffering, it is because of the bandwidth that your ISP has capped  and if you are on dial, it can be a rough road to hoe especially since the elections are starting to heat up.

He seems to allude to the Federal Reserve being a concern, but then does not gor down that road in this interview and then interchange with listeners.. He makes it clear that the biggest issue that he disagrees with Ron Paul on is the clash of civilizations between Islam or at least radical Islam and the West. Tom does not put resposiblity on us because we had troops in Saudi Arabia, etc. as Ron Paul does. This is my biggest area oof disagreement with Ron Paul as well and I am not far off Tom's beliefs here. His are as close as anybody's gets to mine.

He made it a point that he is no firend and has not been a friend of Bush, but is one of about ten liberty minded Congressmen who (Ron Paul is in this group) has gotten together regularly when they can to discuss things. He said that Ron Paul was the other good candidate running. I do not know why he failed to mention Duncan Hunter, but I believe he realizes that people know his views are very close to Tom's and did not want to dilute the impact of his message by dividing it unnecessarily. All in all ist was informative and I learned from it.

Tom voted against NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND and MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS and Duncan voted for them.

I worked my way through the C-SPAN archives today and found where I can order a video of the Straw Poll Speaches.  I had to get the whole thing, I could not order just one candidate.  It will be fed ex'd so I expect to have it in a couple of days.

Later this week I am going to try to copy just Tom from the CSPAN site.

Isn't it interesting how Tom's take on Ron Paul is about the same as most of us on the forums?  It is uncanny. And it is because Tom shares our beliefs and values. His wife taught school for twenty seven years and he taught social studies himself years ago. He is not big money. He is not a neocon globalist.

He is the voice of the patriotic, conservative American who cares about God, Family, and country. We can't get better than that. But big  money will be spent by big money to convince Americans that he is outside of the norm. And he is. He is not bought and paid for because he does not sell his birthright and soul out for a buck.

Duncan Hunter has always been third on my list,especially since I believe it to be him standing behind Bush in a picture I saw on stopthenorthamericanunion where Bush is signing the Military Commissions Act of 2006 which takes away our right to Habeas Corpus.I cant be sure its him,but I think it is.I do not like the company around him either! The picture is in the videos section.

This was an excellent interview with the questions that followed.  Tom touched on almost all elements of the issues, and this interview should be used for others to know where Tom Tancredo stands.  He was candid, introspective and gave solutions to dangling problems.
