He's a self-righteous, egotistical, condescending jerk. The thing is, he's only like that around me. Everyone thinks he's this great guy, and I end up sounding like an arrogant bastard whenever I bring this up. I'm never the way he is with me, but he still continues. Whenever I do lose control, everyone takes his side. I hate double standards. But in spite of their hipocracy, I've become the biggest hippocrate. This infuriates me so much, I've managed to sound like a teenage girl. So, there it is. Perhaps he could change one day. Or perhaps someday I just won't care anymore.

Sounds like you need to talk to either Dr. Phil or Dr. Laura.

Where's Mom?  That's what she's here for.

Ever hear of The Smothers Brothers.

I've been tought to do what's right regardless of what others say or think so that, in the end, I will have nothing to hang my head for or to feel guilty about, wondering if I'm a bad person or not.

The best way to come out on top, is to rise above them. When you loose control it is because you have given up control of your emotions and life to someone else. Don't allow that to happen and you'll begin to see a big difference in you and him.

Dom, hon - do NOT allow your brother to make you lose control.  Be calm, be cool, and simply point out what he is doing wrong.  Eventually, this will cause him to lose HIS cool, preferably in front of others, so that they can see what is actually occurring.  Of course, sitting down with him for a real discussion of the issue can't hurt; you could be right where you are now, but at least you could say that you made the effort.  I know about difficult siblings, believe me!  Hang in there.

Ephesians 6:12 - "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." REMEMBER THE ALAMO! America for Americans - the confused need not apply.
