If you haven't done so already, please register with NumbersUSA.com. If you're already registered, be sure your information survey is up to date and check your action buffet bulletin board daily. They have had quite a few faxes to send.

This is in addition to Grassfire, not in place of.

Remember, although Numbers doesn't charge a fee to send the faxes, all donations are appreciated.

 

I believe most members of Fire Society are also on NumbersUSA mailing list; I joined after being encouraged to support their efforts.

Hi everyone:

I started this thread yesterday because so many people on this site were complaining that we don't do anything. Until the next big "battle" comes along I am of the belief  that we can decide which smaller "battles" we want to fight for ourselves. If you want to sign this petition or that one, go right ahead. If there is something you are unhappy with that the government is doing, send a letter to your representatives.

It seems right now one of the hot topics on the FS is the 2008 election. I think we all agree the primaries and the 2008 election are relevant topics for debate.

I notice that a lot of member like to post news articles and see what feedback they get from fellow FS members. If the article you post would be on topic on an existing thread, I would encourage you to post it there rather than starting a new thread. I like to try and keep track of where I have posted comments so I can go back and see how others have reacted to my opinions. This is becomming harder and harder to do because there are so many threads.

I cant imagine people being on here for any length of time and not doing anything. Even others writing letters and sharing information prompts me to email and call the congress and Mikey and who ever else I can to let them know what I think. They work for me. Woe to me if I dont.

Thats a good point Mr. T. Sometimes I just dont know where to post something...well often...lol so I post it in breaking news because it is new and needs attention. But you are right. and it would keep better tract of the information shared.

You are doing something. What people bring to these forums is more then just saying,"Well today I called Mikey and I sent two letters to my senators." By discussing current events on the FS we can decide what letters or calls we should make. I don't think the debates and arguments on here are counter productive. By going through the process of debate we are becomming better informed and are on a path to being more responsible citizens.

while i don't agree with, or normally recommend the use of their tactics, the enviro waccos may be useful stooges in this fight.  even though they and theur goals are opposed to what i believe and hold dear, including them "in the loop" for this fight would fall under the "the enemy of my enemy is my ally" heading.

face it, the serria club has lots more money, legal access, clout, and experiance than just about anyone else who would be interested in this fight.

we need to consider using them, even if it turns our stomach to be aligned with them.
