"Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants. It is the creed of slaves." ~William Pitt, 1783
Romney - Romney's speech pretty much centered around unity in the party and in Washington to move forward. He did not support Fair Tax but supported targeted tax cuts for investments and investment income. Expressed support for the so-called "Patriot Act". Comes across as a nice guy, but I sure don't see a lot of strength.
Tancredo - Very moving speech! Favored LEGAL immigration and immigrants Americanizing. Adamantly opposed illegal immigration and the way politicians are pandering to them, to the Muslims and to every other special interest group while denigrating Americans and Christians. Champions marriage between men and women, Fair Tax and stated he would bring immediate charges of treason against mayors of "sanctuary cities". Awesome speech, awesome candidate.
Cox (a businessman) - I didn't know much about this guy but liked what he had to say. He is pro-life, pro Fair Tax spoke about doctors and patients needing to run health care, not insurance companies. Spoke of running the country in a fiscally responsible manner and says he can get results. Came down strongly opposed to illegal immigration.

He's talking about illegals and having a database to know who is in the country. He just proposed ordering cities, counties and states to report illegals and if they refuse, all government money to them will be cut off immediately. Go Newt!
"Good fences make good neighbors."-Robert Frost "Too BAD!!"-Glenn Beck
He just finished speaking. What I heard was great, informative and supporative of our country, as usual. The crowd-lots of people there- was really in it for him. We're praying his success with the Straw Poll will put him at the forefront--with the top tier. Go, Tom! Newt is good as well, and does have some great ideas on turning the country around. At least he is not afraid to criticize the current administrations foul ups with immigration reform. He would be great as a replacement for Chertoff!
bugsygirl - YES!!!!!! What I really like is that he nails it on the head when he talks about "cultures" and "language". I travel to the United Kingdom and France on business. In the United Kingdom they don't have on the signs, English and then 7 or 8 different languages. Like in Heathrow the signs are all in English. This is different from what is in the Dallas/Fortworth airport where all signs are in English and Spanish. In France it is the same. How come other countries who are side by side with other languages and cultures still put their language as "The Language" that is spoken.
You don't press one for English in London and then 2 for French and 3 for German - No Way!
You speak English and if you don't then you need to learn enough to get by.
Trust me, my French is getting better because I need to know the basics when in France. BUT I respect any country that keeps it's Soverignty and it's Culture. If I am there on business then I am in guest in their house and I act accordingly, with respect. IT is the same that I request of them when they come to our country.
I agree CJBL. Its hard but the less crutches there are the faster and better you learn . Its much better to practice speaking the language youre learning.
