I can give you information on a study that shows on dog in a hundred develops a cancerous tumor about implanted microchips within two years. It is totally unacceptable to do this to the men and women who protect us.
Pentagon to implant microchips in soldiers’ brains
Soldiers fear that the biochip, about the size of a grain of rice, which measures and relays information on soldiers vital signs 24 hours a day, can be used to put them under surveillance even when they are off duty.
But Anthony Guiseppi-Elie, C3B director and Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Bioengineering claims the that the invivo biosensors will save lives as first responders to the trauma scene could inject the biochip into the wounded victim and gather data almost immediately.
He believes that the device has other long-term potential applications, such as monitoring astronauts’ vital signs during long-duration space flights and reading blood-sugar levels for diabetics.
“We now lose a large percentage of patients to bleeding, and getting vital information such as how much oxygen is in the tissue back to ER physicians and medical personnel can often mean the difference between life and death,” said Guiseppi-Elie. “Our goal is to improve the quality and expediency of care for fallen soldiers and civilian trauma victims.” The biochip also may be injected as a precaution to future traumas.”
Clemson scientists have formulated a gel that mimics human tissue and reduces the chances of the body rejecting the biochip, which has been a problem in the past.
The researcher predicts the biochip is five years away from human trials, and the DoD could start implanting microchips in soldiers bodies soon after.

This is still 5 years away from human "clinical" trials as per the article. We are having amazing success in this area of science- give it time- they WILL get it right. The chips will save lives.....and if they are also given GPS tracking capabilities- we will NEVER have another MIA soldier again.
This could turn out to be a good thing!

Shades of 1984 - to be tracked where ever you go, whatever you do and if planted in a brain, those people will carry them for the rest of their lives. I hope they are given a choice.

You mean like "Big Brother" is watching? I know that is probably the first thing people think of...but for a soldier...it could save his life or locate him when he is lost- prevent friendly-fire incidents, no more MIA's. I guess because I like science so much I look at it in a different way, but I can see how someone might think that is an infringement on a person's rights. I look at it as a very cool new piece of technology.

BiotechBabe - - I pray that you are right and it will take another 5 years to perfect. That way, maybe both of my grandkids who are in the army will be out and home. If they were still in the service, I would be horrified to have them allow a biochip ANYWHERE in their bodies.
This is shades of Revelation and the mark of the beast - - oh, it won't hurt anyone. They are already supposedly able to identity chip people's children for them. My answer is a resounding NO. The devil would always try to claim that it is beneficial and for a person's own good and protection. Isn't that what he told Eve - - this will make you wise. Satan's tactics never change. It's always for our benefit. The liar!!
If God wants to mark me, so be it. ANY one else - - FORGET IT!

I like science too. My degree is in Chemistry with a minor in Physics, but I have been fighting National Animal ID for two years because I will not tolerate my animals being marked in such a way. I sure as heck would never allow myself or my child to be. I, too, see Revelations in this. Even if the prophesy is not applicable, a person could be tracked for the rest of his life. His privacy would be gone. On a purely scientific basis, I cannot believe that the constant emission of radio waves through human tissue is going to do that tissue any good. They are covering up the cancer studies that were done in Europe in their haste to get animals all marked. Do you think they would show humans any more consideration?

You are sooo right Truth. Take Nuclear Power....it would be clean and efficient and alleviate our need for foreign oil and other fossil fuels....but in the WRONG hands- it is used to create one of the most destructive weapons in history.
Another new technology that could be the saving grace in the field of medicine is RNA interference....but, alas, that technology in the wrong hands could ALSO be used to kill and destroy through bio-terrorism.

nwind...I agree about the radiation. But as the article stated they are 5 years away from human clinical trials....a lot of "bad things" with the technology could be cleared up by then. I don't necessarily agree with implanting a "chip" in my pet. I keep her inside, there is no need to have that in her system.
Supposedly, our system is more strict than Europe in the area of research and how quickly "things" progress to human clinical trials. With what I have seen out of our government in the past few years- I don't know who or what to believe or "trust" anymore. Makes you wonder exactly what is in that new pill your doctor may have prescribed for you.....or that new skin cream that claims to rid you of wrinkles- what ARE the long term effects of any of these items?

Cameras on every corner, on the highways, in bathrooms, chips in your hand or forehead. Faceless bureaucrats monitering your every move, every transaction. No ability to buy or sell without your chip being scanned. Hitler and Stallin would have loved it.

I am with Patriot's Pixie and nwind. I believe this is from the book of Revelations. The mark of the beast is coming upon us. You are right, satan makes you think it is for the good of the people but really it isn't. There is probably a better way to keep track of our military personnel without putting a chip into their brains. Who is going to be next with this chip? I feel this is just another way for our government to eventually try and control us.
How about just implanting a chip in their dog tags? Or giving them a chipped wrist band when they go out on a mission and let them turn it in when they return to base. Invading people's bodies is completely unnecessary, permanent and completely unjustifiable.

Loved the comment...but when I first glanced at your post all I could think of was Phil Hartman dressed as Frankenstein on SNL saying "Fire Bad" and groaning....LOL....sorry, told you I was goofy today

This is sick! Has anyone asked the troops what they think about a needle being forced into their brains? What is wrong with this picture? What is wrong with people that would think that this was a good idea? Who's next? How about "us" or maybe your children? Wake up America! Did you forget that we are free people and don't care to have our every move monitored? Who is sick enough to think up such a thing? Bush, Cheney, the CFR, the Trilateral Commission? Think about it!
Forget about the chip plan being a good idea for it most certainly is not. Some benefits are not worth surrendering any individual liberties for. Food for thought: Never trust a government that has shown that it cannot be trusted.
Not a good idea at all. The next thing they will want to do-is plant chips into our newborn babies----to protect them if they get kidnapped--or at least that is the excuse they will use.

Here in Chattanooga, TN. where I live, we already have these cameras. They have just put them in action on a stretch of road called the S curves, to monitor speeding. This is a good idea, scince there have been a lot of deaths on this road.
They have also put up several cameras at stop lights in RedBank, TN, which shares our city limits, and East Ridge, TN., which also shares our city limits. These are to catch those who run the red lights.
But, there is bridge across the TN River that connects downtown with the north shore that once was for auto traffic. It has been renovated as a walking bridge. Now they are installing cameras along the span to monitor those on the bridge, claiming it is to keep down trouble.
There are plans to install other such cameras at other places around the city. It will never end, now that it has started.

Look at what has happened when we thought we were giving The Bush Administratiion the power to take care of our country after 911. Give him all the freedom he wanted to monitor US and look for Al Qaida. We trusted our Government. I would never have believed they would twist the truth as they did. President Bush's illegal warrantless spying on the American people through wiretaps and any other methods.
No thank you! I believe I will take care of myself. I don't need this government that can't be trusted, knowing every move I make.
