President Bush made his first public comments on the case of imprisoned border agents Ramos and Compean. According to the NYTimes:  (He waited long Enough)

“There are standards that need to be met in law enforcement, and according to a jury of their peers, these officers violated some standards,” (Like the terrorists do: eg. 9/11, And the Federal Building and the first attack on the World Trade Center.) Mr. Bush said. “On this case, people need to take a hard look at the facts, at the evidence that the jury looked at, as well as a judge. (Bet it wasn't the same judge and jury that convicted Libby) And that’s — I will do the same thing.”

Sort of the way Libby violated some standards, and was pardoned????
I believe that the illegal who crossed the border into the U.S. Broke some of our LAWS (Illegally crossing  Our border , offense # 1) Driving a vehicle containing a controlled substance (Lots of Illegal drugs) (Offense # 2) Refusing to stop at the command of a duly appointed officer of the Law. (Offense #3) Fleeing the scene of his crime, Evading an Officer of the U.S. Border Patrol. (offense #4).

This is the highest case of a travesty of justice I have seen. Items in parenthses are my comments.

DISPLAYING ABSTRACT - THERE was never any question that President Bush would grant amnesty to Scooter Libby, the man who knows too much about the lies told to sell the war in Iraq. The only questions were when, and how, Mr. Bush would buy Mr. Libby's silence. Now we have the answers,
,
WASHINGTON, July 2 — President Bush said today that he had used his power of clemency to commute the 30-month sentence for I. Lewis Libby Jr., the former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, who was convicted of perjury in March and was due to begin serving his time within weeks. (Too Bad our two border agents were not close friends to old Man Bush or Hillery Clinton.)

The action, announced just hours after a federal appeals court denied Mr. Libby’s request to allow him to remain free while his case is on appeal, spares Mr. Libby his prison term, but it does not excuse him from stiff fines or probation. (Probation = Staying away from anyone who can Fink on you EG. "Don't Get Caught")  (Maybe Tricky Dick might lend him the $$$ to pay the fine???)

In a statement issued early this evening announcing his decision, Mr. Bush said he had listened to both critics and defenders of Mr. Libby, who was convicted of four felony counts (4 COUNT THEM 4 FOUR) for lying during a C.I.A. leak investigation. ( How many shots hit the illegal drug smuggler??? One or Four???)

“I respect the jury’s verdict,” Mr. Bush said. “But I have concluded that the prison sentence given to Mr. Libby is excessive. Therefore, I am commuting the portion of Mr. Libby’s sentence that required him to spend 30 months in prison.”  (Hell I would have given him 30 YEARS). (I respect the jury's verdict, but screw them, I run this show.)

Like a pardon, a commutation is a form of clemency, granted to the president by the Constitution. But a pardon is an official act of forgiveness, whereas a commutation simply reduces the penalty, without making an official judgment of forgiveness. ( Lets cut the CRAP, It is a definate Indication of forgivness in this case. The rest is no more than a slap on the wrist.)

Mr. Bush has been urged by some conservatives to grant Mr. Libby an outright pardon. (Must be friends of Dickie Boy)

The president’s decision drew praise from Mr. Libby’s defenders. “That’s fantastic. It’s a great relief,” said former Ambassador Richard Carlson, who helped raise millions of dollars for Libby’s defense fund. “Scooter Libby did not deserve to go to prison and I’m glad the president had the courage to do this,.” he said, according to The Associated Press.
(He apparently does NOT have the courage to do The Right Thing regarding our Two Border agents, Is He afraid of P------ off the Mexican Government. oOps, forgot, We get OIL from there.)

The House speaker, Nancy Pelosi of California, said the decision showed Mr. Bush “condones criminal conduct,” according to The A.P. (In that case he only proved that he can't even maintain a constant behavior pattern, Pardons a convicted 4 time felon and turns his back on two good guys doing a great job carrying on the vitally important Job of "The War on Drugs).

I have seen a lot of my Friends Die from drug use and also ones that ruined their lives and the lives of their families from Drugs. I wonder how much of the Taxpayers $$$ tha Drug Dealer will get from his lawsuit against the U.S. Government?? I can not believe that he was granted immunity to testify against border agents Ramos and Compean.

Have you heard what Bush said the other day?!

1)   President Bush called Sutton a "FRIEND".  INTERPRETATION, Sutton was doing Bush's bidding, probably to pacify Mexico for a reason only Bush knows.  (I even voted for Bush so I am not being partisan!!)

2)  Bush said a jury of their peers convicted Ramos and Campean.  We are supposed to look into the facts.  What a joke.  He is ignoring the facts.

3) Bush said he wouldn't promise the American people to pardon them, but he has no problem, it seems, promising Mexico to prosecute them.!!!
