Mr. Ivy, remove my membership please

Mr. Ivy,

When I joined FS it was to help support the grassroots cause.  The past few months have seen me, and others, harassed, trolled and called names by a handful of members (RonPaul08, LadyJane, Rogerf) that do not like the fact that I support Fred Thompson or that I stand up to them and debunk their untruths.  I realize that I let them goad me into stooping to their level and I'm sorry for that.  It is not my usual nature. 

I have found out the past few days that FireSociety is not the grassroots community I thought it was.  I'm sure the members that have tried to push me into getting banned will be jumping for joy but I don't care anymore.  I can do more good elsewhere, in fact I do.  I realize that you do not read all the threads and all the posts but Esquire was right about some very important things.  There are members here that have encouraged extreme civil disobedience, including committing bodily harm to Mexicans.  I don't like the illegals situation any more than the rest do but I would never harm another person except in defense of my life.  I will not be part of a forum that allows it's members to do the things Esquire tried to stop.  They have also called me and others some very vile names because of our beliefs and have been allowed to do so. 

If that is the kind of forum you wish to run then have at it.  I am also sending a copy of this post to Steve Elliott to let him know what kind of a forum he has his name on and why I am leaving.  I don't think for a minute that he will approve.  I hate to leave like this but I have my pride and I no longer want to be a part of this sham called a grassroots forum.  

For all the members that have supported me, you have my email address and I will be happy to hear from any of you!

                       Melinda- while none of see eye to eye 100% of the time I ask that you please stay on board. Everyone has done their fair share of name calling even you and I on occaision.

I would hope that you stay also Melinda. I once left because of a threat to my family, but Blaze_Of_Fire and a few others that have common sense talked me into staying. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Please stay.

I have sat idly and sadly by and observed a lot of the recent childish goings-on.

There are MANY things the participants in these forums can do to effect positive change with the abysmal mess in Washington.  We pulled together and helped defeat the sorry amnesty bill AGAINST ALL ODDS!  Remember that?  Am I to believe there are no other causes we can come up with to push for positive changes?  I think not!

Please - knock off the junk - no one has to type or post or insult others or be a braggadocio just to show off or play an "I'm smarter than you are" attitude or just to stay entertained.  If you want to do that, go somewhere else!  There's real work to be done!

Melinda, please stay and don't tuck tail and run - the sane CAN prevail!  You NEVER appeared to be a quitter - please don't start now!

BUT, I do not have your email, and as a strong fellow Fred supporter, I'd like to stay in touch if you really do stop your participation here!  Please email me so I can keep in contact!

Melinda, Mr T, Patsy, Gerald47 and I will keep the little kiddies busy going round and round in circles on the "pony" ride in front of Krogers or WalMart.  I have a pocket full of quarters.  They'll be so dizzy from riding they'll go to bed early.  Then you can post around their silliness.

We all have our own ideas and opinions, and we have the right to express them.  This does not mean that I am right and you are wrong, or that you are right and I am wrong, it means that our opinions are different.  It does not mean that we have the right to try and force someone to believe as we do by resorting to name calling, threats,or insults.  These tactics are used by children and bullies.  I would hope that we are above this.  And if anyone wants to call me names, understand that you cannot call me anything that I have not already been called in my lifetime.

I wasn't going to do this but I want to pop in before Sean deletes my account and provide those of you that don't have it with my email address.  It's shegens@yahoo.com .  I know how to block the undesirables so I'm comfortable with posting it.  I asked heartforthedeaf to distribute it for me but I shouldn't have put that burden on him.

At this time I am very dissatisfied with FS.  That may change down the road someday but I've heard that once you leave you can't come back.  I don't know if that is fact or not.  The administrators really need to get control of this forum and they need to do it fast.

It's probably out of my hands now anyway because I also PM'd Sean and requested to be deleted. 

I have really enjoyed the bunch of you and you can always find me in FreeRepublic or the draftfredthompson.com forum under the handle Melinda in TN.

Please stay!. Insults come when you stand your ground. Don't give the opposition a victory for if people who take rock hard stands leave in the face of oppression what chance does our nation have? Please reconsider or just take time off to rest and see what happens on Fire Society.

Well, I'm sorry to disapoint you, but I will not remove your account.

As I stated when you emailed me, you are free to deactivate your own account, but my job is to remove those that do not follow the forum rules. Unfortunately there are times i miss things, and that is why I am actively requesting nominations and applications for Community Moderators to help keep this from happening in the future.

Sean, I believe this thread was started by a disenchanted jihadist.  And I bet he's camping out in a cave somewhere in Afghanistan.  The fact that he's now stolen the identities of two most excellent American patriots and started this thread is one more reason for our military to keep up a relentless search and remove mission.  Yell
