John Doe bill--have you heard about this??

Just heard Peter King talking about this   Evidently this was passed by the House--about the Chicago incident where six or eight muslin Imam got on a plane acting suspicious (seating like in  9/11 incident, etc) and was reported as a security problem by passengers who are now being sued by the suspicious muslims.  The bill evidently is to provide immunity from such actions when potential security problems are reported in good faith.  ANYWAY, LATE LAST NIGHT IN THE SENATE (this is starting to sound like "once upon a time"), this was voted down thanks to the Democrats.  Supposedly the dems say they are for this, but voted against it.  It is now in some committee.  It seems to be time for phone calls--they don't want us to have any security and I'm livid.  I'll be on the horn as soon as I'm done posting this!!! 

They voted down a block on the Fairness act too. They blocked a bunch of good ones. It seems they suddenly realized they had enough votes to run alot of damage last night.

they also passed the Dream act in it which gives students who came to the country before the age of 6 the ability to become citizens if they finish school or enter the service. I wonder if those conditions will actually be held to. I guess they plan on them staying that long.

Bugsy--they really have me confused.  They removed the Dream Act from the DoD stuff and then brought it in elsewhere???  Thanks for the info.

Our military is not even entitled to "in-state tution" if they are NOT from that state, but stationed there instead. This is WRONG!

This is a page with the ammendments to the bill. They have not filled in all the ammendments yet as to their purpose. I was sure I heard them say they were so happy the kids would get this chance as though it passed. I could be wrong. I pray Im wrong.

You are wrong (incorrect) as has blaze_of_fire been in so many cut and paste jobs with personal opinions stated as facts attached thereto.  I'm still waiting on her PhD to explain how the U.S. Constitution absolutely forbids foreign investors and/or investments.  Pure and unadulterated nonsense and it never gets withdrawn.  It just sits here as though it is indisputable fact.  Well, as long as I'm here I'm going to continue to challenge it and expose it for what it is.  Why?  Because I believe there are sincere and rational people aboard who want the facts, the law, and the truth as opposed to knee-jerks.

bugsy--I listened to some of the late stuff-in one vote they were discussing education for kids without parents.  It was late but I hope it wasn't education for illegals.  Wow Esquire, you're going to have a big job keeping us all in order.  Thank you.  I am in error every once and a while and I do appreciate corrections;  it is not my intent to mislead.  That's why I find fire society so valuable, someone usually knows the answer or stimulates thinking.

Oh well, at 72, I don't mind, I'm pretty much up to the task.  I just hope it doesn't require my full-time efforts for the remaining 28 years I potentially have to do it. 

I, for one, would like to see some more retractions, when called for.  They would increase the net worth and value of the forum.

But has anyone heard anymore about the JD bill?  Homeland Security keeps saying citizens need to be alert and report things that are out of place--they said citizens are even responsible for thwarting some homeland terrorist attacks.  And now they want to  allow someone to sue us for doing what they asked.  I just don't get it!!

I have run into this problem in every chat room and forum Ive seen. It will be absolutely peaceful, then suddenly it just takes one...lol. I guess none of us can see our own blind spots though. We live with them everyday so we are so used to them anything else looks odd. Its been quiet today because theres no senate and no news. I was scanning some articles on topix.net and there doesnt seem to be any new news there either. I guess we should just rest and take a breather huh? I felt like my brain was gonna explode yesterday with all the emails and calls. I tried to keep up with them. As soon as I got half finished with one set they would start another issue...lol

lol nancy. Im not too surprised. They have immigration laws. When people try to uphold them, they get sued. I see a pattern starting here. Ill tell you what you have to do, then tie your hands so you cant do it and live in fear.

bugsygirl Good posts - The thing that get's me is: when someone expresses there view and one person does not like you are automatically branded as a "racist". That is there dumb way of trying to shut you down from freedom of speech. It is just wrong. And the liberal PC propogana ridden news is one of the main reasons. And they wonder why there ratings are crap! Now they want to install the Fairness Doctrine - they are the ones that need it. I have come to realize that the one who screams "racists" is the true racist themselves.
