I have banned myself for three days in solidarity with bwwhaley. I will see you all in three days. Maybe free speech will be a good topic  to discuss during my hiatus.

I will miss you MrT.  I've banned myself several times for three days or more.  Sometimes I just have to get away from the crazyness and get back to the real world for a while.

Then I am also herewith tendering my self imposed three-day ban. I am taking with me my marbles (gems of wisdom). Until Mr. T returns, I shall not. And even then, if I do return and the forum has become so squeaky clean that it is forbidden to post replies that challenge incorrect presumptions and absurd assumptions then posting is an exercise in futility, anyway. In the "world" in which I move about futilely spitting (you know the word I actually have in mind) into the wind is considered imprudent.

MrT., Esquire, Commendable. Hope it works. Seems though that if anything were to be done something would have been addressed by now. Hope neither of you are going to have any kind of withdrawal symptoms. I too may consider following your footsteps and refrain. I'm also sure there are many shouts of glee over these decisions. Some just don't realize that they don't know what they have until it is gone. Thankfully it'll only be for 3 days???? Adieu, and as posted in a prior posting don't allow yourselves to get into a position, as I'm sure you won't, where possibly the demorat bed bugs can bite.

Oh, what the heck!  I miss bwwhaley and I will also ban myself for three days.  Maybe the forum will be fit to come back to when we come back.  I know I disagree with a lot of people at times but it's not personal, at least not in most cases.  I have a few that have become personal.  What can I say?  I like a debate.

I find myself getting beat up on the forums when I least expect it. If I were to say the sky was blue, there's no doubt a red sky advocate would be at my throat sinking in his/her teeth. I usually just wander away for a few days.

Come back soon. Need your insights, opinions, and intelligence. You all stand by your convictions with reason instead of emotion. That's a lesson for us all.

This is absolutely the worst time to ban yourselves as the Ramos and Compean hearings start tomorrow and we may need the intelligence of a good lawyer and some of the other persons of wisdom that grace this site. Don't abandon them now. I agree BWW had a well rounded knowledge and expressed it well. They will be back.

Well, I've had all night to think it over and I think I will take a longer vacation than three days.  I'll attempt to participate after the nominations are settled and we actually have a candidate.  I know I get "ill tempered" with people at times but getting attacked over and over because of who I choose to support gets old.  After a while I start getting even and it just goes from bad to worse.  I've always been outspoken, but being mean is not my nature, believe it or not.  Any dog will bite if beaten enough. 

I've had about all I can stand of the John Birch 'truthers' and their ridiculous conspiracies.  I know our government is capable of things I don't approve of but no way I believe they are capable of some of the things they are accused of by the 'truthers', for example 9-11.  I'm tired of people being banned because their opinions didn't agree with the 'mob' mentality.  I know there are a lot of really good Ron Paul supporters out there that don't fall for that crap and I respect your choice in a candidate.  It's the other kind that support him that really worry me and we've all seen examples of that kind. 

There is a lot of good done in here in regard to Ramos and Compean, illegals, etc. and I hope they keep it up.  There are a lot of good intelligent people that are members here but for some reason, probably out of fear, they don't voice their opinions.  I can't say that I blame them. 

I'll keep faxing and emailing but it will be from somewhere else for a while.

Well, sorry you guys are taking a long vacation, but I'll be here. 

Don't take things too personal!!! but like my father always told me, if you want to keep friends, never discuss politics, religion and personal matters and what we do here is just exactly that. 

One of my bosses is very liberal and as soon as he found out I am Republican he doesn't stop critizing W. Bush about the War in Irak and how bad this administration has been handling things.  Not because of all his  criticism, I'll leave, I JUST IGNORE HIM! and go on...

Don't vacation too long though. 

I'll miss you!

You're welcome MrT.  I haven't been back to the other threads but have posted a couple of times in here and the Bwwhaley thread.  I support you 100% because you are 100% right.  You, Esquire and Gerald47 opened my eyes to what is going on in FS.  I probably won't participate in the other areas for a while.  It's pretty much pointless, at least until after the nomination.

LOL FireWing.  I'm hearing it will be in "the next few days" but who knows?  It's driving me nuts!

I did post in the 2008 Election forum just now to a thread Perico started.  Perico is a FredHead like me and a very nice person.  I just can't get my interest up anymore to post in the election threads.  I hate to fight but I'm feisty enough that I don't take being attacked very well.  Tongue out

It was my understanding that the people on this website were adults.  As such we should be able to conduct ourselves as adults.  Everyone has ideas on things, and we are allowed our own opinions.  This does not mean that my opinion is right and yours is wrong, or yours is right and mine is wrong, it means that they are different.  We have the right to our opinions, but we do not have the right to try and shove our opinions down someones throat.  Debate, not argue.  Be adults, not children.

Well, after reading Mr. Ivy's remarks tonight I believe it is time that I say goodbye to Mr. Whaley. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us on these forums. You will be missed. It seems that during the time Mr. Whaley was on this site it has gone full circle. I have found myself posting almost the same things I did a month ago. In one case I went back and copied my own comments. Are we just writting the same book over and over again? A wise man once said, "After you read the last page, close the book."

Gerald, I do not think that MrT is going to leave.  I do not believe he would do such a thing.  He is a voice which is growing stronger all the time.  As such, I think he understands that he is a great asset to the FS society and its membership. 

MrT is a sure fire fellow when it comes to keeping this blog from being reduced to a mutual admiration society that some would likely have it be.

Those words have been spoken before by others that are no longer here on this forum, and each time I read them they seem to become more factual, and a harbinger of loss to this forum of the person that points this fact out.
