Exactly.  Illegals are either yelling racist remarks to us or standing there with their hands out for all the freebies.  If they were all 'hard-working, tax-paying LEGAL immigrants', we wouldn't be having the polarity we do in this Country right now.  If the idiots up in D.C. had their act together and controlled their immigration, both illegal and legal, numbersUSA wouldn't gave grown so large so fast!  HELLO!!!

With the exception of the following paragraph,

"Numbers USA initiated and turbocharged the populist revolt against the immigration reform package,” said Frank Sharry, executive director of the National Immigration Forum, a pro-immigrant advocacy group. “Roy Beck takes people who are upset about illegal immigration for different reasons, including hostility to Latino immigrants, and disciplines them so their message is based on policy rather than race-based arguments or xenophobia.”

this was a pretty decent advertisement for NumbersUSA. I would hope that it might encourage those who actually read the NY Times (it is excellent for lining the bottoms of cat litter boxes and bird cages) to join the cause.

Good for Roy, and God bless the man. Nearly half a million members ( I have been one a long while.) Hope it grows into the millions. Oh, and by the way, Mr. Sharry - that's "illegal" Latino immigrants.

Dropped a positive note about NumbersUSA in my last Letter to the Editor. Hope it'll spark some interest I try to plug Grassfire as much as possible.   I joined on NumbersUSA around the end of April. I am not ashamed of it either.

I think numbersUSA is doing an excellent job.  We need organizations to lead the charge and organize.  That's why they illegals have such organized marches and stuff.  They have all the LaRaza, Lulac, etc. money behind them...   probably the money our government gives to these organziations.

GOOD JOB ROY!  I also plug grassfire when ever I have the opportunity.

I love it how they try to make it look illegal to do the same things they do. They give people for proimmigration stances outlets to act on their opinions too. So what is their problem. This is why I laughed so hard when Lott got mad at talk radio. They do all the same things and call it balanced.

NumbersUSA had done a wonderful job in organizing opposition to amnesty bills. And it is nice to be recognized for their good work.

But the New York Times article will only help to educate the left-wing radical wackos who read that left-wing rag on how to organize to defeat legislation that we (conservatives) support.

NumbersUSA needs more publicity from conservative news outlets.

Quite well done for the Democrat Times of NY.  Not the agenda-journalism that they usually stoop to.

They did great work. I appreciate all the people that made themselves and their organizations vehicles for us to use. It was great. And it was so encouraging to know we werent alone.

You've got that right.  We're highly dependent now on these great organizations.  Hurray for them all.

It is happening. The tide is turning. It will be slow. It took a long time to make this mess. It may take a long time to clean it up.

Even if it is xenophobia like they want to claim, how can one not be when one sees their very  own country, language and culture being pushed out of the way by people who are not here legally???  Believe me, if it was 12-20 million illegal Chinese hitting our shores, forcing us to all speak Chinese, demanding everything be in dual languages,  there would be a huge outcry by even probably these very newspapers who are condeming us (probably because they have hired too many illegals themselves to run their printing machines!!)

If you have to hyphenate your race--you are NOT an American!! This from a French-German-English-Irish-AMERICAN! See how silly this can become?
