Just as I was reading an email from NewsMax to order a Border Patrol Cap, I received an email with the following story about a shooting, possibly over just such a cap:

Rocky Mountain News - Denver and Colorado's reliable source for breaking news, sports and entertainment: Local

Shooting may be linked to clerk's Border Patrol cap
Basalt police are looking for a person of interest in a 7-Eleven shooting that may be tied to the clerk's use of a U.S. Border Patrol baseball cap.

Basalt Police Chief Keith Ikeda said five shots were fired into the convenience store on Two Rivers Road and Basalt Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. on June 26.

An hour and a half before the shooting, two men approached the store clerk and said, "Hey, where's your hat?"

The 54-year-old clerk and the men began to argue.

"The verbal altercation was regarding a baseball cap that the clerk occasionally wears in public," Ikeda said.

Authorities aren't sure if the two incidents are connected but they have identified one of the two men.

Ikeda said the bullets were aimed at the front counter.

"There are five penetrating holes in the window and damage made to a hot dog appliance on the other end of the store," he said.

No injuries were reported.

The store clerk and three other people were inside at the time of the shooting.

I don't know, Deerhunter.  It's a crazy world out there!  Was just hearing a report that now the chatter from terrorists is at the summer of 2001 level.  This, along with the immigration crap, etc., makes me very concerned for the future of this country.

Had a very good weekend, thank you!  And looking forward to a great 4th, bbq'ing, swimming in the pool, and just enjoying a visit from my grandbaby girl!!  Have a wonderful 4th!! Fireworks Happy Hat

Believe me. We have our problems here also. Thanks and I am looking forward to the 4th myself. We are going to grill deer ribs, and backstrap from the deer I have saved for a few months since hunting season was out and with all the fixins too. Also, some good ol pork that a friend of mine got just a few weeks ago on his property. Should be a real nice 4th of July. Be safe for sure...:)

Eyes open and alert!!  We're flying out to Vegas and Grand Canyon at end of month and I suppose I could cancel and sit at home and hide, but WTF...time's not up til it's up, so we're going!!  Have fun grilling!

Shot over a baseball cap ? It's not gang colors being shown. Who knows when all out fighting with the illegals will occur. Probably when we get tired of paying for their care and feeding !
