Another great bill to support!

Sponsor: Rep Goode, Virgil H., Jr. [VA-5] (introduced 4/18/2007)

Cosponsors: None

Let's get Mr. Goode some Co-Sponsers.

Please feel free to use the letter typed or as a guide, or modify to your liking. Send this to all of your representatives.

***********************************************************

Congressman Steny H. Hoyer

U.S. House of Representatives

1705 Longworth Bldg.

Washington, DC 20515-2005

Congressman Steny Hoyer,

As your constituent, We are sending you this letter to voice our total support for H.C.R. 119, Expressing the sense of the Congress that the President should immediately and unequivocally call for the enforcement of existing immigration laws in order to reduce the threat of a terrorist attack and to reduce the massive influx of illegal aliens into the United States, introduced by the Honorable Virgil H. Goode, Jr. (R-VA) on April 18, 2007.  We strongly encourage you to support this bill.

As a taxpayer and a registered voter in your district, we are extremely concerned that if the United States continues to engage in and support illegal immigration by not enforcing existing laws and by providing free social services, to include but not limited to free education, free medical care, welfare, low income housing, food stamps, Maryland Driver’s Licenses etc., the   United States of America’s sovereignty as a nation will no longer exist.

The invasion of illegal aliens is an injustice and a financial burden to American taxpayers that we pay the illegal aliens way.  This only encourages more illegal aliens to cross the border illegally with no intention of assimilating into America, but rather balkanize America.

The current invasion of illegal aliens in the United States is a direct violation of the U.S. Constitution, Article IV, Section 4 clearly states: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

Furthermore, Twenty-two American citizens pay the ultimate price with their lives everyday at the hands of illegal aliens due to drunk driving and murder. Not to mention eight American children are molested everyday by illegal aliens. This is direct failure of the U.S Government to uphold the law.  Don’t you think it is long overdue you start?

This is crucial that you as my representative support this bill and encourage your colleagues in Congress to act now and encourage the President and the Secretary of State should warn Mexico that any further actions it takes to encourage illegal immigration to the United States will be viewed as interference with our domestic laws, in violation of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

In courage the President and the Secretary of Homeland Security should immediately use every tool available to them to secure the borders against illegal entry and encourage the President, he should announce publicly that he will oppose any proposal to grant legal status, or amnesty, to illegal aliens and that he and the Secretary of Homeland Security will use every tool available to stop illegal immigration into the United States and to announce efforts for the removal of illegal aliens from the United States.

Furthermore, encourage the President and the Secretary of Homeland Security that they should seek the assistance of State and local law enforcement personnel in enforcing immigration laws, whether through formal agreements to cooperate or through the elimination of sanctuary policies.

Please work with other members of Congress to secure passage of this critical bill – H.C.R. 119, Expressing the sense of the Congress that the President should immediately and unequivocally call for the enforcement of existing immigration laws in order to reduce the threat of a terrorist attack and to reduce the massive influx of illegal aliens into the United States.

Thank you,

OK, we can look up committee chairmen for each.  I know Bennie G. Thompson is the House Committee Chairman for Homeland Security because I wrote him about the immigration issue.

Thanks for the info. people!

Blaze_of_Fire - Thank you for staying on top of these Senate, House and Senate/House resolutions and bills.

I am not sure if Roy Beck with NumbersUSA is going to have as many (free) faxes to cover this different legislation, so I know we're going to have to make our own way with bombarding these people on the various bills.

Just a thought folks.  One reason we were able to influence the immigration bill is because we were focused on the same one all at once.  I'm wondering how effective it will be to target several, rather than getting everyone on the forum to support just one or two at a time.

Is there any way we can find out where these bills are in terms of going to the house.  So far I've written my house guy like 5 times -no responses the jerk!

I agree with you, speakengl.  Bombarding from a more focused direction would probably be more effective.  Find the bills, resolutions or other legislation that have moved to the debatable stage in the Senate or House, then go for one or two and bombard with faxes, emails, mass mailings, etc.

Hmmm...  I'm a little ignorant as to how it all works, but from what I can gather from reading the reports,  the house assigns them to committee, committee issues a report, and they stay on the 'docket' until Nancy Pelosi calls them up.  I wonder if we contact the committee chiarpersons they've been assigned to, or the author, if we can get a feel for where they are at.  As long as I'm in TX, I think going through my Rep. will be pointless.  He never answers and the one time he did, it was a form letter.

COMMITTEE(S):

Its number 28 in the last committe. Does it go through committees one at a time, then get referred to the next one or does it get reffered to  them all at once. In one committee its number 11 or so.

Just sent information to my rep.

"We do need to play by the rules. The people affilitated with NCLR, etc. will let emotions get the best of them and will put their feet into their own mouths by their actions. Just look at the demonstrations and the way the people act. What we need to do is outsmart all of them. We have the brainpower. We need to operate as a cohesive, unified, smart group." Good work!  Thank you.  I tried to figure that out with no success.  It has to come out of all committees before Pelosi puts it on the calendar.  I think it goes through COB (Cost of Budget) last.  I wonder if it will do any good to write the Committee Chairpersons.  Bennie G. Thompson is chairman of House Homeland Security.

This is another one that is of up most importance - HCR 119.

Since the NAU is pushing foward at record speed for this summer - I am bumping this back to the top. GET THE LETTER OUT. Think of this as "A Direct Order from your Commanding Officer" LOL - I am retired Navy myself. Wink

We have to keep sending this TO ALL MEMBERS - not just our own. Bombard them - like we did with the Amnesty bill!

bob graham: I know I hoping too. However I did check the current status and it is still the same as posted by speakengl.

It makes me so mad - especially since I found out Congress gave themselves a 4% raise.

Gee - I would have hated to see the size of the raise if they had actually been productive and really did something good for America for once!
