Presidential Candidate Tancredo Calls for Rep. Paul to be Included in Iowa Presidential Forum
(Washington, D.C.) – Presidential candidate Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today called on the organizers of the Iowa presidential forum to allow the participation of Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX).
“While I don’t see eye-to-eye with Rep. Paul on all issues, he is a respected Congressman, a former presidential candidate, and a man with strong convictions and the courage to express them,” Tancredo said, “The Republican party is better because he is one of us and he has earned the right to be in all presidential forums and debates.”
The Presidential Forum is scheduled for Saturday, June 30th in Des Moines, Iowa. It is being co-sponsored by the Iowa Christian Alliance and Iowans for Tax Relief. Attendees include Rep. Tancredo, Sen. Brownback, Rep. Hunter, Gov. Thompson, Gov. Huckabee, and Gov. Romney. Invitations were also extended to Sen. McCain, Mayor Giuliani and Gov. Gilmore.
Tancredo concluded, “I hope the organizers of this forum will reconsider and extend him an invitation.”
This is why Tom is my #2 guy behind Ron Paul. The "don't see eye-to-eye with Ron Paul on all issues" is why he's #2. They DO see eye-to-eye on immigration though. They are apparently pretty good friends as well though I just do not see how you cannot see eye to eye with the Constitution 100% of the time. I've said it before and I'll say it again, try following criminal law 99% of the time and ignore some of the laws you disagree with. We'll all end up in jail rather than people giving us money and voting us into high power jobs.
Sorry, off on a tanget, yes thank tom Tom Tancredo!!
I wish they would both go independent or something. Get out of that republican cess pool. I wish Sessions and some other decent people would before its too late for them.

Well I don't think this will happen until the Libertarian Party, Constitution Party, and the America First Party can work out their minor difference and form a brand new party. This will solve the balloting issue that Ron Paul speaks of (where you have to essentially be a Ross Perot and waste a lot of time/resources just to get on the ballot).
Though I believe Ron Paul will destroy the Republican Party as we know it, win or lose. He has injected so much discussion of Constitutionalism, liberty, freedom, free markets, sound money, non-interventionist foreign policy, federalism, etc. into this campaign that I believe there will be a mass exodus from the GOP if they should not nominate him.
If he wins, there will be unimaginable, but very exciting, stand offs between Ron Paul's Executive Branch, and the other 2 branches of government.
I wish Tom would simply accept the Constitution 100% and we can have 2 voices for liberty within the federal government.
He's your #1 guy because he's calling for the hosts of the debate to essentially stop lieing about their excuses for excluding Ron Paul and to let him participate in the debate?
Tom is a stand-up guy, but again, Tom is only 74% Constitutional. Not quite the Constitutionalist that Ron Paul is. This is what we need in the White House.
My respect for Tancredo has gone up a good bit from this. I'm glad he recognized that Paul was wronged.
"The government's view of the economy can be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." - Ronald Reagan
"We do need to play by the rules. The people affilitated with NCLR, etc. will let emotions get the best of them and will put their feet into their own mouths by their actions. Just look at the demonstrations and the way the people act. What we need to do is outsmart all of them. We have the brainpower. We need to operate as a cohesive, unified, smart group." The Angy Patriot
Ron Paul has added that constitutional flavor to the conversation Ron. I agree . Just like Tom has forced them to look at and acknowledge the immigration issue. It would be near impossible for either one to win though because of the media shoving Guliani and Romney into everyones faces. And feeding the frenzy of waiting for law and order to show up on the scene and save the day just like a TV show where most people live their lives now.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, try following criminal law 99% of the time and ignore some of the laws you disagree with. We'll all end up in jail rather than people giving us money and voting us into high power jobs.

Us? Us!
I would like to see Ron Paul in the debates also where he and Tom will have more equal time to address the voters without the distraction of the 'upper tier' the media has already decided will be our choices.
Tom is my number one guy and one of the reasons is because Ron Paul is claiming to be one thing and pretending to be another. If he is a Constitutionalist, why doesn't he register and run as a Constitutionalist?
I was not impressed with his interview on Cavuto, calling for repeal of the 16th amendment but not saying how he would run the country without an income tax.
IMO the real HERO on taxes is Congressman John Linder who authored THE FAIRTAX PLAN. He not only calls for the repeal of the 16th amendment, but offers a fair alternative. Congressman Linder is not running for the Oval Office, but Tom Tancredo is and he is a co sponsor of H.R.25. Ron Paul is not and he has had 9 years to do so.

So obeying the law as its written all the time is not good enough for you?!
What exactly do you mean by he is claiming to be one thing and pretending to be another? I really don't think you know what a Constitutionalist is. You don't "register as a Constitutionalist" and run as one. You either ARE a Constitutionalist or you're not. Same difference between a libertarian and a Libetarian, guessing you don't know that one either but you can google "small l libertarian".
What is wrong with running the country without an income tax? Granted Ron Paul is only talking about the personal income tax. If you eliminate the personal Income Tax and replaced it with NOTHING you would have the federal government operating in the dark ages of 2001 budgets.
Linder is not a hero when it comes to taxes. He is not even in the same league as a Ron Paul is. Linder was simply in the right place at the right time. The FairTax had NOTHING To do with any politician until it was first released in the 107th session of Congress in 1999. FairTax.org started devising this plan in 1995. Ron Paul has been working to eliminate the Income Tax since the 1980's and replace them with nothing. It is obviously much better to reduce government revenues/spending rather than increase them which the FairTax does. The FairTax is advertised to be revenue neutral, but in order to address the attacks claiming its not, they made it so it does not take into account economic growth and is revenue positive almost within a year after passage.
The FairTax is far from perfect, but it's the best thing we have now. A true FairTax would also incorporate the inflation tax into the equation as well.
RonPaul08 : Good points. I am glad you explained the difference between the FairTax and Ron Paul's plan becasue I was not all that clear on it unitl now.
You say "Ron Paul has been working to eliminate the Income Tax since the 1980's and replace them with nothing. It is obviously much better to reduce government revenues/spending rather than increase them which the FairTax does. "
Ok I understand that part of what you said.
Now I have another question: if Ron Paul wants to replace Income tax with nothing - than to my understanding to date - the income taxes we pay now - go to items like public education, roads, police, fire and resuce, etc.... Correct?
If so, then how would those items be covered if Ron was to eliminate Income Tax? I am lost on this one or misunderstanding something here.
Thank you in advance for the clarification. I am always looking to better understand this and gain useful and knowledgable information.
When the government becomes responsible for us, We the people are no longer a free society.
While some of your income tax is distributed to the states and local communities (e.g. midnight basketball), most local services such as fire, police, schools, sewer and water, etc are funded locally with property taxes sales taxes, or some other funding method. Feds mostly pay for things like national parks, NPR, the Smithsonian, CDC and a lot of dubious research into things like global warming. They pay for highways, but that is supposed to come out of gasoline taxes. They pay for war and the military. They pay for social security, but that is supposed to come from employer and employee contributions separate from income tax. If most federal services were paid by user fees by those actually using the service and if federal assets were sold to private interests and if the government limited itself to its constitutionally proscribed functions, we wouldn't need a whole lot of taxes. We will always need taxes to fund government. The questions to ask yourself are, "How much?" and "What is the fairest, least intrusive, and easiest way to collect them."

One Downside to the National Sales Tax, that people don't usually mention... is that it would allow the government to track EVERYTHING. When I file my returns, i do a good job, but i know i miss a thing here or there, i do it to the best of my ability.
A national Sales Tax would make things tricky... the government would see ALL your spending... and if you went to say a garage sale, picked up a few items... that wouldn't go on record. The government could see a discrepancy, and you'd be under suspicion.
National Sales Tax is even better for a Totalitarian state than the Income Tax.
I do not know how you figure that. The government would not know who is spending, or how much, or what they buy. They could know how much money was spent in a particular store, but that is all.
The national sales tax only applies to NEW goods and services. Items purchased at a garage sale, or a thrift shop are not taxable.

A few days ago Ron Paul mentioned on FOX News, that will not go independent. It's either Republican party for the Presidential nomination or nothing. He will still be active as a patriot in Congress, if the people will still allow him.
If he goes independent or 3rd party - he will loose.

One step closer to Total Control.
You might be confusing this for something else Harry.
Under the FairTax, the number of tax filers would be reduced by 90%. It's the exact opposite of tracking which we have now.
As you stated right now, the government tracks everything about you. They know exactly how much money you make, and they even know what you spend your money on if you claim deductions.
