Don't give up people! this is only the second battle (first last cloture vote)- the war will go on- this may pass in the Senate eventually but from my read and contacts it has slim to no hope of passing in the House- as it is, they are much more vulnerable in elections there anyway- 4yr turn over. So find out who the dumb-asses are that screwed up today and bombard with communiques. Richard Burr NC is one of them. When emailing him use a NC zip code either 28401 or 27804 both where he has offices in NC. We need to keep going like the pink bunny! We can't win every battle but sure as hell can win the war!
I couldn't agree more. This is just one event. The next vote is Thursday - Sessions is working behind the scenes and the House has already given the Senate notice they don't approve of the bill. The members of the House are coming up for re-election and they are scared to death of the polls showing nearly 80 per cent against this amnesty. IT IS NOT OVER!

I did not hear the fat lady sing yet.I did hear 64 people hum the Mexican National song though.I agree dont give up,just roar louder.
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
We just have to stay strong, united, and angry. I am convinced the members of the house are listening even though our illustrious senate is not. But, there needs to be consequences for the senate too. We have to get most of those career, dinosaurs out of there. This is absolutely a war we can win. The fat Mexican lady is not singing yet!

That wasn't a fat lady singing, it was Ted. And he'll be singing constantly the next few days as well as the rest of the pro illegal, pro amnesty bunch. There's going to be a huge spin campaign. Don't get sucked in by it and be sure to let others know what is going on. They'll be trying to convince those who aren't as active as we are that the amnesty is a done thing. PURE B.S.!!

We need to get everyone to talk to friends, relatives, people at church, at the grocery, at the gas station, barber shop, schools, work, everywhere and anywhere possible to help drum up support. I am thinking about printing a list of senators office numbers, email addresses, etc. to pass out to people that I talk to about this. Could list some websites for reference too.

I like your Sam Adams quote- it is now our mantra! Burn baby, burn up............phone lines, servers, USPS, faxes anything you can think of! We maybe down a notch but not out!
Can anyone answer the burning "why" for me? I am completely at a loss as to why from Bush down there is such a determination to ram this down our throats despite nearly 80% of the american people being opposed to it. It makes me wonder what is being promised, or what threats are being made to cause what I would consider mostly otherwise reasonable people seem so willing to betray and sell us out. And then I find myself asking how in the world can we believe or trust these people to do anything that they say or to actually enforce anything that is in the bills that they pass to begin with. Afterall, why have they only built 2 miles of the fence that was promised and funded before? These guys seem to be completely impervious to any threat of backlash from us over the actions that they are taking right now. We have shut down their fax machines, email servers, phone systems, and other means of communications and yet they walz right into the senate chamber and vote to destroy this country. So, I'm sittin' here shakin my head wondering what the heck is going on?

Your question of why? has troubled me more than anything else. No one has come forth with the answer. Many theories and convictions have been tossed out on the forums but none have been an adequate answer.

It's all part of Bush's global plan--NAU--SPP--NAFTA, etc. He doesn't want secure borders, never has, and he wants a huge source of cheap labor to satisfy the corporate giants, both republican and democrat, so he can drive the middle class to oblivion and turn America into North America and a giant open marketplace/cesspool full of roving immigrants working for nothing. Most of what he has in his mind has been done in secret or very discretely so no one has gained a clue until fairly recently. I wondered why he never closed the borders after 9/11. His global plans supplanted all of that--even possible future terror plots.
There are obviously not quite enough people in the Senate who will buck him, or are power/money hungry themselves and clueless as to what is actually transpiring in and outside of the Senate, including what's in the ridiculous legislation. I don't believe the House will let the bill fly. They'll tear it down to something the Senate or Bush will not accept, which will make Bush and his followers even madder than they already are. Then, he'll probably try to use one of his executive orders and do who knows what?....

I think God did intervene, he showed us who our enemys are.Think about it, everything is in the open, we can choose, we wont be misled for those who see.
Get busy on the calls and faxes to the House of Representatives! Don't miss anyone! Let them know that they are up for re election in 2008 and if they vote yes on this bill they will be in fact looking for new jobs! As for the Senators they all need to be looking for a new job! Don't be fooled by the ones that didn't vote for it. They knew they were in trouble and probably made arrangements to vote no knowing full well that their vote wouldn't take it out of the Senate anyway! It was to cover up their nasty little deeds! The ones that are up for re election in 2008 had better had voted no during the whole process in order to stay in. The ones that voted yea in the beginning and no this time should be looking for a job. The rest of them better know that we have long memories!
We can still beat this bill. The final cloture vote will most probably be Thursday. When the amendments that are being debated are killed over the next 30 hours - go after all those Senators whose amendments get shot down. They will vote no on the final cloture vote if we pressure them enough.

Just listened to an interview with Kitt Bond- he voted "yea" for cloture today and his strategy seems to be that this way he can bring forth an amendment that will kill this bill.....he seems to understand that his constituents don't want this, he is opposed; he wants to (paraphrasing) shine sunshine on it to show what a bad idea this is. In my book the more this is brought up, the less chance of it dying...2 yr olds are easier to figure out than these self appointed demi-gods!

Thank you for not starting your forum thread with a defeatest theme....we're going to do whatever it takes to kill this bill....whatever...but now it's time for a bigger statement.
The NAU and SPP work out great for rich elites. Why? They get richer and richer and are well protected and buffered from the poor class. They will live in their gated communities with guards and English speaking neighbors. They will receive their medical care in gated facilities. They will continue to receive retirement for themselves and their families. We on the other hand will be living in the trenches with the invaders. We will be waiting in long lines to get our medical care (if needed). We will have to live next door families living 30 to a house speaking boldly in Spanish. It is easy for them to make this decision because it will not have an impact on their quality of life other than making them even richer. We are definitely heading into the old Serf system.

Just look at the demonstrations and the way the people act. What we need to do is outsmart all of them. We have the brainpower. We need to operate as a cohesive, unified, smart group."
