Ted touts immigrant bill: Calls it ‘defining’ By Jay Fitzgerald Boston Herald General Economics Reporter

Declaring immigration reform a national-security and “defining” issue, Sen. Edward Kennedy yesterday vowed that supporters will resume their push for a controversial bill later this week in the Senate.
Kennedy, speaking at a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Park Plaza Hotel, denounced “naysayers” of the comprehensive bill that has drawn criticism from both sides of the political spectrum for either being too lax or too tough toward illegal immigrants. “I think that this issue is sort of the defining issue for our country,” Kennedy said.
The American people will probably come around to appreciate the bill’s virtues, said Kennedy.
“It’s the left and right that are so vicious in terms of opposition,” said Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat.
Kennedy warned that the nation needs to develop a better system or it risks creating a breeding ground for terrorists among illegal immigrants already here.
Britain, France and Germany have all failed to assimilate immigrants. “Look where the cells are in terms of al-Qaeda,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy called President George Bush’s support of the bill “courageous” and said he hoped to take up debate in the Senate later this week and through the weekend.
“I’m going to be working together with my new best friend,” Kennedy joked of Bush.
But Bush hasn’t been laughing lately as he tries to convince skeptical conservative Republicans that the legislation is in the best interest of the nation. The result of Bush’s strong support for the compromise immigration proposal: falling poll numbers.
Paul Guzzi, CEO and president of the chamber, said his business association is most concerned about winning support for H-1B visas for skilled foreign workers to come into the nation.
The chamber hasn’t taken an official stand on the overall compromise package, but Guzzi said immigrants are important to Massachusetts’ economy at a time when so many young people are leaving the state.
Kennedy said the nation can’t just kick out 12.5 million people who are working hard at jobs.
Eduardo, I define your bill as what it is: AMNESTY! You see your bill as a continuation of what you did in 1965.
He said, "The American people will probably come around to appreciate the bill’s virtues." Hey, Teddy, not all of us are as stupid as you think we are; there are no "virtues" in your amnesty bill.
By "working hard at jobs," Kennedy includes working the welfare system.
The picture is of a package of 12 rollos suaves colores Scott tissue, 1000 hojas por rollo; subtitled 12 rolls soft colors Scott tissue, 1000 sheets per roll. This comes from a local grocery store. Please don't let this country go down the toilet!

The only thing that Ted Kennedy ever defined accurately was "stupidity". That nut job has pushed six or seven amnesties through already!
That idiot Kennedy needs to be put in the psych. ward....... That booze has really fried his brain and made him dangerous to himself and everyone else. Hes crazy to say "the American people will probably come around to appreciate the bills virtues What Virtues?????? Hes got a nerve coming from a family with such a lot of felons in it to mention virtue!!! Now I know for sure I'd rather go shooting with Cheney than ride with Kennedy....
Agreed Tommy, our rulling class is using this issue to split us as a people into patriotic Americans & collaborators who are siding with those who are invading & occupying our country. Ya know, 30 yrs ago if you even suggested that in the 21st century, America would be overrun by an occupying force & that our own government would sanction it you'd have been either laughed at or punched. Wet Kennedy, Juan McCain Harry Screed, & Jorge Bush can't seem to surrender fast enough to these people. This bill has all the virtues of MS-13.
Yes. It defines those who want to destroy this country. It also defines those who will NOT receive my votes.
"We do need to play by the rules. The people affilitated with NCLR, etc. will let emotions get the best of them and will put their feet into their own mouths by their actions. Just look at the demonstrations and the way the people act. What we need to do is outsmart all of them. We have the brainpower. We need to operate as a cohesive, unified, smart group." LOL. That was pretty funny.
Maybe they should apply to be French citizens, since they are very good at surrendering.
