Hurray....a few with some semblance of common sense and decency!  Question is....can they KEEP that good sense when the White House starts twisting arms and LaRaza starts promising junkets!

I think the House has answered the senate on their shamnesty. What do you think?...lol All I can say is ditto.

Just saw the reports on CNN with Rep. King and others.  They want to enforce current immigration laws and beef up the border--hopefully this will mean that the fence will finally get going again. 

Think they'll keep their common sense--just don't know how much infighting will continue and whether it will go back to the Senate again, and then for signature by Bush---veto---possibly---back to square one, unless the pressure is really exerted on the House and Senate again to accept what the people want!

The House has answered--now to give them our support to get the best possible outcome.

MSNBC is doing a candidate marathon today and talking with other legislators.  The ones who talk about immigration are all saying the same thing.  Gotta wonder about the ones who don't want to talk about it.

I think I heard them say they are going to do this marathon thing every other Tuesday.

The reports I heard yesterday sounded as if the King-Smith bill had passed the House, but I cannot find a bill number so I can look up the language.

I did find this report that includes the new proposed amendments to s.1348:

WASHINGTON —  Sixteen of the two dozen amendments the Senate will consider attaching to a revived immigration bill come from senators who helped derail the legislation earlier this month.

A list of the proposed changes obtained by The Associated Press illustrates how key Republicans and Democrats plotting to revive the measure before the Fourth of July recess are trying to placate critics by holding votes to address their top concerns.
