Oh man, Im too late. Fill me in on what happened.

He did great!  About 3 minutes and he was eloquent.  On the immigration bill he said it looks like the bill will come back to the Senate floor.  "Those working on it behind closed doors think the know what the people want, but they can slather all the lipstick they want on it, it is still a pig"  He said he does not call it an immigration bill, it is a no illegal alien left behind bill.

He said passing in the Senate has a 50-50 chance but we are building firewalls in the house, and said what all of us have been saying all along:  We do not need anything to pass the laws we have in place now except a willingness to do so.  He said Bush is a disaster on this issue and thinks it will be his legacy.

On Iraq he said there seems to be little progress, but will wait for Petreos September report, and quoted President Bush as saying he will set a November benchmark for  Iraq to take control of Iraq but "he did not say what he would do if they have not."

Yep.  He did good!  Those are the only two questions they asked, but let him answer the questions without interrupting.

I know thats the only thing holding him back, thats hes not allowed to talk uninterupted or even acknowledged in alot of cases on radio and TV. Once people hear him, he will win them, and his opposition knows it. It greives me that even conservative people dont mention him at all on radio and TV...like Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs or even on the Rush Limbaugh show and such. People are so into looking for a mouth peice that wonderfully articulate and popular, an actor. It greives me that people dont look closer to see what they have already been doing on the issues.

Or whether they have a D or an R after their name.  That is what I face in SE Oklahoma.  Campaigning last year when I would announce "I am a Republican" sometimes I felt I would get a better reception if I had said "I am a communist."

Darn!  I was typing and did not hear all of it!  Someone just said there are 70 committed Democrats to voting NO in the House and msnancy has said unless someone can deliver 70 Republicans to vote for it she will not bring it to the floor if it even gets to the House.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

msbobbie, that is great news! I don't think they are going to find 70 Republicans willing to vote for this. The senat may pass it knowing it will die in the house, but, I for one don't want to take that chance. I am still emailing every day and calling when I can get through.

What can we do to get more national recognition for Tom Tancredo????

I think if we all would include a link to his web site at the bottom of all of our emails to everyone we know, it would be one effective way to spread the word.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

How about bumper stickers?

TRUTH....I will have to get another one made then my bumber sticker says "WHAT THE HECK VOTE DOBBS N' BECK"   (LOL)

We need to get Tancredo tee shirts and hats and put bumper stickers and signs up beginning like YESTERDAY!!! Half the battle in these elections is name recognition and since the media isn't giving him any help with that, it's going to be up to US.

Also, I got my Tom Tancredo pin at cafepress.com.  My avatar is a copy of it.  I wear my pin everywhere I go.  It has given me an opportunity to talk to strangers about Congressman Tancredo.

I got a Tancredo bumper sticker there and also one that says deport congress...lol

Sence Tom is making it only on our support so far, and is not bought off by big business, its up to us to do his advertising to a great degree. Thats one reason why I never downed Ron Paul for nagging because at least he was doing what we should be doing.

None of these Okiecrats have said they would vote for Tom, but they are sure mad as hell at the Democrats in the Senate.  ( Both Oklahoma Senators are Republican).  We have closed primarys here so I will wait til December to tell them if they want Tom for President they better change their voter registration and make it happen.

Article in this morning's internet news about Tom Tancredo, where he lives and the immigration climate in Colorado.

I do not believe the article is referring to the climate in the whole state, just the district he represents.

Colorado was one of the first states to be invaded by the Mexican invaders.  This happened about the time they put TABOR in place.

I saw an interview a couple of years ago with an Mexican woman in Colorado who was objecting to her children having to learn to speak English in school.  She said, through an interpreter "I want my children to know their own culture"

The article garnered no sympathy from me.  I have not gotten those marchers out of my craw yet.

What can we do to get more national attention to Tom Tancredo?  I think it has to do with the internet. 

There are forums of all kinds. There are newspapers with comments sections. Topix.net has sections for cities in every state and articles for those cities and forums on each article. Find your own city and start mingling in each article and slip the information in. I know there have got to be more forums sites like that one. Ill do some research on forums.
