It should be common practice to prosecute such actions. There is no reasonable defense for an illegal assuming another person's identity to gain employment. It has become a common practice for those who are pro amnesty to rationalize or justify any action by an illegal regardless of whether local or federal laws are broken.

And what happens when they put 20+ years in somewhere? If found to be illegal they should recieve no retirement. Then they will really raise the roof but they should have figured that out before starting their crime career in identity theft or falsification.
